On previous models of Motorola phones, you could disable the acoustic warning app which showed a warning whenever you would turn the volume up. However, the X still shows the warning yet lacks the app. Does anyone know how to disable the warning for the X?

No I don't think so, best chance is do a Google search and see if there's an app but doubt it

I think he meant that if you ignore the warning screen or goes away. But that kind of defeats the point.
My beef with it is that I have Tasker set up to turn up the volume automatically when I activate some apps via an NFC tag when I put it in the car. If I have to wait for the volume warning to go away on its own, then Tasker won't be able to set the volume properly.
Fortunately, the gravity box xposed module does the trick. I think that Google probably adopted the acoustic warning for android, so Moto doesn't need the app anymore. So now it's just part of the framework. If that's the case, then there probably isn't a non root work around for it.

Can you add whatever app you want? Let's say I use handcent. Can I set the active notification to handcent instead of the stock app?
In other words, can you set any app to use the active notification or does each app developer have to support it?

As long as it makes notifications you can make it an active notifications and you can remove the stock app as you wish.

Not in the active notifications, unfortunately. Been nagging Moto about it, hopefully they'll give us the option in a future update.

Also I don't ever notice the active notification vibration...is it only when your phone is on silent/vibrate?

Yep and it's ridiculously annoying. I just went to the AT&T store to see if their display model is as loud as mine and it is, along with the 3 other phones they let me look at. That kinda sets my mind at ease knowing my phone isn't defective- I was seriously considering exchanging it based on the vibration alone. But now I'm keeping it, and I'm happy.

Oh okay, I don't mind that.
Mostly out of habit, I've been hitting the power button to get the regular unlock screen which doesn't vibrate with haptic disabled.
Title says it. It always worked no sweat on 4.2. Now whenever I have the headphone jack plugged in it doesn't register any voice commands or input at all. Kind of annoying if you use your phone while driving to listen to music. So my question is has anyone else noticed or can test theirs for me? Am I missing a toggle in the menus somewhere? It's really frustrating me.

Saw this yesterday...Very frustrating as you said...This used to work in 4.2 right?

I have the same problem on my new Moto X and haven't found a solution anywhere.
So trying to compare headphones on my new moto x and ive discovered the moto x is actually the cause of my poor audio quality. It seems to produce deep bass but vocals are extremely hard to hear and the highs are also drowned out.
Compared with my galaxy s4 which seems to produce great sound across the curve.
Anyone else notice this from their moto x?
I'm using the Sol headphones I ordered with it and my Ultimate ears.
I've also tried eq setting but doesn't seems to help much

Well, i read somewhere that, its got to do with the DAC (Digital to Analog/Audio converter) on the moto x processor. It isn't that good compared to chips in S4 (Snapdragon 600) or Nexus5 (Snapdragon 800). So the audio quality won't change with any amount of soft settings as the hardware itself is weak.

IMO, it's the stupid "Audio Effects" app. It's turned on to some "3D surround" mode by default. If you just turn that entire thing off, it sounds much better.

Did it ever open for you? You're going to Settings>sound>audio effects right?
Are you on the stock rom? and 4.2 or 4.4?
I had the S4 and one of the major reasons for returning it was the audio quality, even with the "sound match" thing. ( I forgot what it's called, but its that thing where it plays a bunch of faint beeps and you have to keep tapping the screen)

One thing I'm missing on the X is some type of notification of my battery charge. Is there any way to get say a charge level on the active notification screen, so when I touch/pick it up it'll say the battery level along with the time.
I think there's something like that in gravity box... Tho that may have been lock screen... Can't remember. Lol

the active notification screen will tell you when your battery is super-low, but nothign that indicates you're charging.

I use Tasker to turn on the green led light that is located in the ear piece. Yes, it has an led.

Well my assumption was anyone asking for nonstandard features would be rooted. I guess that may be a bad assumption with the release of 4.4.2, but typically anyone on XDA would at least have root.

I have the Verizon Dev edition Moto X but when I go to charge the phone I have to press the power button to turn off the screen. It doesn't just dim then turn off after a while. I have active display on and daydream off but I'm not sure if that has something to do with it.
I should also mention that I'm not rooted or unlocked and running 4.4. Not the biggest problem in the world. In fact as I type this all I can see in my mind is the first world problems meme. Just wanted to know if there was a fix our if anyone else even had this problem.
