all tries i made to unlock the bootloader, install a usable rom or install a working recovery failed.
my system is totally messed up. booting to recovery results in a lge_security error and my android system process consumes 75 % of the battery power, its empty after 7 hours with display usage at 2 %.
unlocking and installing new roms would take days of trying. and all the numerous hours and several sorts of attempts i spent on it were pointless. i just want to sell this piece of s**t but without a stock firmware its not possible.
is there a method to restore the phone to stock state with a LG software tool for selling ?
if so, does it also work with the 262-000 phone which is truly the worst product i ever bought ?
please help, this is far from usable, even with my connected batterypack it just discharges slower and starts to heat like a stove.
greetings and lot of thanks for your suggestions.

Seems as if i am not allowed to call members lazy when they don't try before they post, also seems i can't say it sucks to be them when they mess up their device and give up before they try anything

Lot of Thanks again.
I was looking for someone able to gíve an reply like "yes, there is such a kind of tool" or "no, there isnt".
The KDZ flashing methods and 90% of the tools here dont work or dont restore the recovery on 262-000.
I rather sell it really cheap than spending another days of my rare sparetime, just to discover i have to reflash KDZ with my current state.
Let me guess, you dont have the 262-000 version, so easy to speak for you, probably.

In future, if you don't know what your doing, then just don't do it, if this was your first device you was to mess with, then it should either have been a spare/old phone you wouldn't mind mucking up, flash the .kdz and see what happens, if you get bootloop it means progress, if your bootloader is not unlocked and you have the error, there is already a thread on it, just do a quick search, a softbricked 4x HD is worth less then half as much as a working 4x HD, try out the toolkit, and try get an adb connection, can be achieved through bootloops sometimes!

kdz flasher works on any version. if it doesnt work for you, try another usb port, or another os, or another computer. it must work, there's nothing telling it not to work in case it's 262-000. try kdz flasher, try lgflashtool, try another firmware. it must work, unless there's a hardware fault, but there most likely isn't
I have a 262-000 and I'm running vanir 4.3 without ANY problems...
I might have to say that the fault lies on you
But you should probably check your drivers or reinstall them if flashtool doesn't work for you.
Once had a similar problem caused by bad/wrong drivers.

win 8 here. flashed my phone uncountable times with KDZ updater.
Problem with vanir 4.3 on my P880
Hi ..
I just flashed the VANIR 4.3 on my P880 ,, every thing is ok & I can make outgoing calls , BUT I CAN,T recive any .... when some one dial in my number it t,s busy ( seems like Black list enabled for all incoming ) & I tdiabled Black list & still have the problem .. !!!!! ??? any Ideas ??
I tried CM10.2 & Mokee rom & it was working nice without problems & when I got back & flashed Stock Rom it worked OK too .... so there must be a trick in VANIR which i don,t know ...
i tried to send in the official VANIR thread but i couldn't, cause i,m not allowed cause i,m not a developer .
Edited :
Plrblem solved after applying Google Apps & connected to google services ..
the guide to go back to original rom is here.
if u wanna go give it a good try to install a custom rom, do it. your problem there is the adb drivers. u havent installed the adb drivers for the phone to go to adb and unlock the bootloader. if u cant install adb drivers , the easy way is to install the android sdk x32 version ( even if u r on x64 windows ) and update it. And i will agree on the above thread. u are lazy u should do a very very good search in forum for guides to help u do whatever u want. to root - unlock bootloader - install recovery - install a custom rom is like 30 minutes in total if u follow a good guide !
edit: oh i was really late to see the thread so problem is solved?

i was on windows 8 x64 when i used it. it worked fine
Related
So I got myself into really funny situation I'm stuck.
I worked with xperia mini pro everything was fine.
Now I got x8 well older one... And all i did was rooted it with flashtool.
Everything was working fine from that point with root rights like root uninstaller (I just tested didn't deleted anything).
And then I made "factory reset" Deletes everything from sd card and bla bla bla well you guys know what i mean.
After that I wanted to install kernel but it's not that easy. So I first read alot and did not do that. Since it would require bootloader unlock and thats pain with 11W29.
So just after factory rest somehow I bricked my phone...
But it's interesting brick... VERY INTERESTING.
It turns on, it has flash mode. I can update it via update setup and tried to do that.
Nothing helps all I get is :
phone loading normally, then there is no menu, not sony ericsson home, not go launcher, no settings available no nothing...
To explain my problem i will upload screenshot.
And I can't flash it now since it's not bootloader unlocked.
And I can't access anything from phone.
This is what you call hard brick?
Hard brick is when You can't turn on phone, so there isn't any way to install ROM again. In Your case it's strange soft brick, cause it looks like ther isn't any launcher If You can enter into flash mode than You should reinstall stock ROM and kernel using flashtool (with version 0.2.9.1 cause it's more stable with older devices, such as x8).
Its not bricked. / You can use android commander to push recovery.
It's stock already and I tried stock launcher via updatesetup of SE,
And I think i need bootloader unlock to flash it ? or I'm wrong.
And Later on i will try with older version of flashtools
thx for answers guys.
No, unlocked bootloader allows You to install custom kernels, but some ROMs works also with stock SE kernel, so You don't have to unlock bootloader to install custom ROM or back to stock ROM
So i'm back again on same problem....
I have a Question if you wanna flash phone from flashmode u don't have to have unknown sources and debugging turned on.
Since i can't do that...
My following actions :
I will try to install fresh win7 32bit, since now i'm on 64 and on this system i was working with mini pro xperia, so maybe that may be the case...
I'll try to flash it with older version of flashtools 0.2.9.1 I guess if i remember it right (but on this windows OS It gives me : Error Flashing. aborted)
And I installed flashtools drivers and everything i'm 100% sure of that.
What I tried :
I also tried flashing it from Linux / ubuntu . same as with windows i get :
Error flashing. Aborted.
PCC gives me error when i try to repair it.
Update Service Dose everything as normal but same problem remains I don't get launcher or something just that empty desktop
And I would love you guys if you would give me few links to stock firmware of
x8 11W29 / E15i
And if you have something else to suggest please help me ;D

Hello and thanks for your reply. I tried flashing my x8 with provded ftf file and the problem still remains the same. If it is any help i can normally increase volume, access emergency calls and keyboard and other things. But the screen remains blue. And i also remember that the thing which is supposed to appear here is the language setup, if there is any way to set up main language outside android system i guess that could help.
Again thanks for your reply and your time!

Ended up using Smartfaslh tool, then phone rebooted and i was back at 2.3.4
So again Lg Tool update, but no luck a critical error, so now i can´t update.
What can i do, the phone just restarts, the battery =? (i know its fully charged)

I admire your patience, but are you interested in the end result, or in the process itself? Why not just try SmartFlash method, if you can't get this one to work? Extract BIN and FLS files from the KDZ, and flash them. For me, it works perfectly every time.

These errors are not unusual, an the workarounds have already been posted... Two things you can try, both should work:
1. Flash one file at a time, e.g. FLS (baseband) first, and then the BIN (ROM itself).
2. Swap the files. Meaning, choose AP instead of CP, and vice versa. This way you can flash them both at once.
Cheers thanks a million, took 1 at a time and that worked. Android v. 4.04:good::good::good:
Did you try another cable?
Seems impedance problem as you already mention some progress after change the usb port.
Also try Nflash TG ICS28G it is a good idea, you can flash [ROM] TG P990 ICS V30A - Stable - Rom and Advanced Kernelfrom CWM after all.

Didn´t have 1 that fit, so change 4 times USB port and when i got the first to go to 100% it then worked doing it in 2 steps.
It started fine, but didn´t see my wifi, anyway it looks a bit different from the old GB.
I see, im on TG V30a and very happy AWESOME rom pretty smoth and good battery life.
So i factory rested the phone, then installed rom manager from google play and instaled CWM then pressed reboot to recovery and the phone turned off. Now when i want to turn it on it stucks on LG logo, tried all combination (i think so) but it but it shows LG logo then screen turns off. Anybody help?
Edit: I found out that i can turn my phone in SW upgrade and use Smart Flash Tool, but the problem is that none of the drivers are working, i tried about 10 of them, pc cant recognize my LG, anybody help?

OK read this and follow the exact guide im doing it personally so that you dont have to search! kk
(for getting your phone working)
1.install the phone drivers from the website ( it might show on the com port thingy then )
2. flash only a gingerbread rom or froyo rom because the ICS rom is locked with a bootloader and will cause the lg logo thing all over again if you flash
3.From this link download the gingerbread rom( download the V20A from venezuela )( http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=1 )then use the rom convertor ( go to this link for the guide on how to flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2144577 )
4. if it works, all you have to do is put a rom on your sd and go on with your life
( PS I suggest you try HUEXXX's IZS ROM or Marvel V9 as they both are really stable and works really well)
as for other roms
Dont forget to click the thank button on the corner of this post

Today I was at local service center, they said that they cant fix it, so they sent my phone to a better service and they have some kind of box mobile phone fixing tool. Looking forward, that costs 10 to 15 euros. hopefully they fix it.

Complete newb here, i haven't done any development work or even tried rooting or flashing my phone. Over the last couple of days, apps have started crashing as soon as i open them, and then yesterday i rebooted the device and it won't go past the Motorola logo. I've searched through a few threads and there isn't a simple enough answer or procedure to follow to get this working. Also most similar issues have USB debugging on etc, whereas i have no developer settings on at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated
You didn't search enough for an answer i see. But okey for the lazy i will help you, no offense
Can u access (AP)fastboot and can u boot into recovery from fastboot? Have a look at the link in my signature on how to get in fastboot and then in recovery.

Literally my first post mate, how about you cut me some slack. I spent about 4/5 hours searching last night and even took the phone apart. If there is an answer please point me in the direction of it. There are countless threads where the issue is the user has loaded their own ROM or flashed the device already or something like that, which caused the system files to become corrupted. But as i mentioned i have done nothing to the device except for a data wipe a few months back, and there doesn't seem to be any threads where this just happened out of nowhere. I have booted into fastboot, recovery and done the partition cache & data wipe and rebooted, that was my first step.

Hoho, okey, my words have offended you and I am sorry for that.
I can't simply give u an answer if you only said that it doesn't boot and u looked for something to fix it. There are many fixes for many sorts of problems. Also if I knew u have tried to wipe the cache and data I would give u a totally different answer. But u had not mentioned anything about what u had done to try to fix it.
For now, if even a data/factory reset from recovery didn't work I suggest u need to try to reflash the whole stock firmware. See in my signature the link to an index thread about the phone. U can find there the ways to reflash to your stock firmware and hopefully fix your issue.
If u need some more help to flash stock firmware, don't hesitate to ask here.

So, this is all brand new to me. I'm using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974568
The firmware is from here - http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=13
- I chose the 4.1.2 UK Retail as i purchased the phone through Virgin Mobile (UK)
Drivers and RSD 6.1.6 are now installed so will try now
Is everything right so far?
Seems to have worked, but it seems a bit different and some apps like hangouts are unavailable now, even though i had them before. The firmware i chose was UK Retail, however i am not 100% that this is the one to use as i bought it through Virgin Mobile (UK).
Hangouts should work just fine. Strange.
But nice that all works fine now

Hi, I saw above post and happy to read that your problem is solved so I writting with my problem on your post, just getting hope that mine will work too.
Actually I have also ''NIL'' knowledge about all this software/ quote language etc
My issue is; my Moto Razr i is just stuck on '' Android is upgrading '' than shows ''Starting Apps'' thn nothing happen n same things repeats ... couple of hours back it was saying ''finishing boot'' also but now it is just giving this error '' Android is upgrading '' than shows ''Starting Apps'' thn nothing happen n same things repeats
Please I want to request if you are about to guide anything in tough language please consider that I am completely unknown to all the setups and stuff... just if you can help sharing step by step process and also post specific link/software to download (if needed) and how to download and other details in simple guidance plz plz plz.
One more point I tried to chat with Motorola chat service and they suggested me to power off it first but i m pressing vol- and vol + and power button but phone is quickly restarting on its own... i m even unable to go on boot as they suggested me to do so.
Thanks a lot to ''my upcoming angel'' in advance
Hope one can help me at earliest.

Im having the same issue described on this thread.
My phone doesnt start, it stays at the logo screen. I've tried to recover, factory reset and nothing worked. I have access to the (AP)fastboot screen.
Later then i saw this thread, i've did everything as described at your tutorial, tried all the versions of the RSD Lite (6.1.4, 6.1.5, 6.1.6), it cant detect my phone.
I've tried in two different PCs, tons of different USB ports, running as administrator, compatibility mode...the PC tells me that the USB is connected, but the RSD Lite doesnt recognise it.
I've tried using these two options of motorola drivers:
- motohelper_2.1.40_driver_5.5.0.exe (that i found at your post)
- MotorolaDeviceManager_2.4.5.exe (found another similar tutorial on the internet)

did you boot first into Fastboot-mode before you connect to pc?
1. Install Driver + RSD Lite
2. Boot into fastboot + connect USB
3. Start RSD Lite

Yep. Thats exactly what i did.
I tried only using Windows 8.1. Is it compatible?
I will test on a win7 PC later.
UPDATE:
Worked RSD Lite on Win7, it found my phone. I belive RSD Lite doesnt work on Win 8.1 (at least on my PC and notebook).
I believe my firmware version is this one:
Android 4.1.2 Blur_Version.982.50.29002.XT890.Vivo.en.BR Vivo Brasil 537.6 MiB
Can i use the Retail version without problems? (this one: Android 4.1.2 Blur_Version.982.50.29.XT890.Brasil.en.BR Retail Brasil 532.8 MiB)
Thanks!
Finally got my phone working again!
I got it running RSD Lite 6.1.6 on Win 7 and used the same Firmware version that i had (in my case: Android 4.1.2 Blur_Version.982.50.29002.XT890.Vivo.en.BR Vivo Brasil 537.6 MiB), not the Retail one.
Also used the MotorolaDeviceManager_2.4.5.exe that i got from Motorola website.
My phone now is up and running like charm, no apps or configs lost, everything seems perfect (and also a little bit faster). Not sure what caused my issue, did nothing but normal use.
I hope everyone with the same problem can find this easy solution and follow the right steps (and maybe avoid Win8 to do the process).
Thank you guys for all the information :good:!
Good it is solved. It can happen to anyone. Just a small coruption or miss configuration can take out the android system. Luckily this almost never happens and u were just unfortunate.

So i have a Moto g xt1072 wich i got second hand.. i got it into recovery mode and eventually got it working, but it was really unstable, so i wanted to reflash the stock rom, because it looked like the current one on the phone was corrupted (i was running android 6.0) (btw i have a xt1068 as my daily driver, but i want this to work again)
So i started flashing http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-lte/general/stock-6-0-marshmallow-europe-reteu-t3338075 <-this
but i had errors and it was failing multiple times.. so i looked up some tutorials, and most of them were unlocking the bootloader at the beginning, so i was unlocking and locking the bootloader trying to get the commands to work,
then i found a tutorial wich coppyd all of the commands at once, so i tried that.. screen went black..
Wont boot into recovery, 3sec method or 120 sec method, and connects to my pc as QHSUSB_BULK
luckily i made a picture of the recovery when i tried to flash:

I think i may need to blank flash, but im not certain..
I would also like to find the firmware for this phone that wont brick it..
Can anyone help?
Need more info?
Please just ask me, i will respond immediately
i dont care what i need to do.. even if i need to hardwire (because im really good at those finicky things)
Thanks for reading XD
Same issue here. I flashed a stock image and something must've gone wrong at some point

you probably also flashed the vootloader and the bootanimation, these are known to give problems, but ive foubd a test point on the pcb which brings the phone in a les hard bricked state, but ive yet to find a method to unbrick the phone..
ill keep you posted

okay, so there are different types of hardbricks, all act the same, but one is harder to unbrick than the other, there is qh usb bulk and qhas bulk with numbers behind it, search for force unbrick lg g2,
now the problem is, it should be easy to unbrick the phone at thsi point, but im not an expert in that and have no idea what to do now xD so i posted it on xda, but no one answered me.. xD hopefully this clears it up some more

So that link to another thread in XDA forum, I think I had a similar experience. I too have the XT1072 as I live in the UK. now here on XDA you have to be careful and ask 3 4 maybe 5 times before someone listens properly. I know it is hard for the devs with so many dumb noobs asking so many dumb questions, I include myself as a noob so no worries. Anyway to get to the point that link is not referring to our phone the XT1072. You should ignore LTE in your search criteria, it will always point you towards the 2015 model and believe you me all roms in my experience area very device specific. You need to simply put Moto G 2nd gen 2014 in search criteria when it comes to searching for custom recoverys and/or stock ROMS. The Titan.IMG is always a safe bet if I remember correctly, dont take my word for it, I have been known to have a memory like a sieve now and again, the problem with getting older, cache gets smaller and smaller, lol! Best of luck!

Read the beginning on this article: http://rootmyandroid.org/how-to-unbrick-your-android-device-the-ultimate-guide.html/
the bricked term is a common misconception for phones that still turn on..
