reverting back to previous software - Sprint HTC One (M7)

this was actually an accidental creation of this thread but now that Its here I guess Ill just ask to save myself the trouble of any potential probelems. I couldnt find one specific for the HTC One but I'm sure somebody can point me in the right direction to a thread which details what complications I need to be aware of say if I wanted to revert back to a ROM thats 4.1.2 from like 4.3, i know theres some file structure difference /0 thing and I dont know if its just recommended against downgrading or...

If your post has a question mark in it, you most likely need to post your thread in the Q&A Section

granted, you did not use any question marks, but had you used correct punctuation, there would be.
Consider the parts of a rom you want to change. THEN look for answers or tutorials regarding those individual pieces. There is no one quide for creating a rom, but the tons of threads with tutorials for individual components that make up a rom will ultimately guide you to everything you could want to do.
i can't remember the exact name for it right now, but there was a thread about this a while back about starting to mess around with making roms. also there is a thread about unpacking and re-packing boot images which will probably some system understanding as well. I personally do not know how to go about making a rom from scratch, but i think they may have something about how to compile the source here or here. its worth a read anyways i guess.
people on here are dicks and hate to see someone wanting to learn something. like really hate it, with a passion.
being insulted from the guy that released a rom and didn't even know that it had to be signed (tested how)
Moved. Enough flaming.
It's like saying how do I build my computer from scratch. What do you really want? A how to guide that somehow already knows which type of ROM you want to cook, what you are planning to do with it, and teaches you how to use linux, java, and android all at the same time?

All wrong sectionry aside, you didn't find a thread or a guide because there isn't one.. It's something you'll kind of figure out when you're ready. It sounds like I'm being a total elitist d*ck, but I'm not. Knowing how to create a rom from scratch is a culmination of knowledge and research over a long time. If someone posted a step-by-step guide it still wouldn't tell you what you need to know.
thanks for the ACTUAL helpful comments guys i'll take a browse thru forums bit more for the stuff i wanna change\edit learn

upgrade in Cyanogen mods

So i have a question, and maybe its a quick answer, but when you are upgrading mods, is it best to do a complete wipe, and upgrade? Or is it better to just stack the builds? Thanks for the answers ahead of time!

Must not state obvious...
Wrong section.
Anyways depends what rom you go to, they all have there own rules. Hero wipe, ecliar wipe, donut you should be good without a wipe

What part of the 'Questions & Answers' section don't you understand?
Also read the requirements for each rom.
I knew i was i was gonna get flamed for posting in this section. My apologies, i was not aware of the Q/A section. I feel better about doing a complete wipe and doing a fresh install. I keep reading about these recovery imgs, i have one, that was created with Flashrec(Cyan 1.4) what is the .img of? Can you just replace that .img, if it was imaged while it while on the stock .img? I'm curious because if so you should be able go back and forth with ease in theory right?

ok, you made a mistake....a mistake we see atleast 3 times a day
most of us who have been here for more than a few months are sick fed up of people not using a little bit of sense
if people would search, read rules and post in the right bloody section, we would be much more accommodating

HELP me with this CFroot!!!

hey i really dont understand what is CFroot and it complications, i have a few questions if some developer or someone really knowledgeable person here can answer pls for me and all the noobs out here. and i bet ya all, even some of the really talented and well experienced people out here might also be dodged with these questions:
Q1- is the stock LPY rom safe? the one which we download from xda which is like 500 mb or something?
Q2- what is CFroot? is it harmfull to do full wipe with this?
Q3- what is my kernal in the stock rom which is 500 mb or something? i cant understand it so i attached a screen shot if u can tell me.
Q4- with this (stock rom downloaded and flashed) kernal and everything which u can see in my screen shot can i flash the CWM and root my phone safely with out and issues? can u pls for the sake of android brotherhood, give me some details? i know i can find that in many threads but as i already mentioned do this favor and explain it here for the sake of android brotherhood!
Q5- rocket rom and midnote rom are out for LPY can i flash them with no issues?
i will be really great full to the people helping cause this LPY and BRICKING issue have really been pain in my a** for a couple of days and i m really so afraid to flash without complete knowledge of things.
thanks

no i have posted in the right section and the topic is not a question! and THANKS for your help!
Loose your attitude, it wont let you go far on here. And DEV section is only for Development not Q&A which your thread clearly is. As you see the Mod has already done that. Thirdly there are plenty of places you can read about it.
Anyway...
CFroot is chainfire root and its the kernels/CWM/CFroot mixed together creating problems. No one is sure which one it is.
To make it sure its better not to do any wipes from CFroot CWM, If you want to do full wipe, use abyssnote4.2. then flash your rom on top.
Your kernel is already LPY, which is the latest one. As said above and as in Rocketrom ICS thread install it like that. You should be fine. But then again if you are not sure, then its better late than sorry..

i have been using xda for some time now. not much but still enough to just know the kind of people out here. not being offensive but the attitude of the senior members is not the way it should be. what i thought of xda was a site where u can ask for assistance to those who know things, but as a matter of fact my experience here is not good. people are very harsh here.
thanks for your help

providing yopu read and search for your issue and post in the correct section people will help, when you post nonsensical postings and dont search and post in the wrong section people will get on your back
You never posted it in general section. It was in Dev section. So dont lie. And Also We all share informations here. No one is no ones boss. So if anyone tries to be one, then people get on your back just like richie said. Anyway iam done with it.
Peace out.

Flashing Nocturnal's GE rom and going back to 4.1.2

So I want to give TN's GE rom a try but I have read numerous places about how android creates a "0" folder after a 4.2.2 upgrade and something needs to be done to the sdcard to revert back to 4.1.2 roms. What exactly needs to be done to revert? Am I able to move the sdcard items before I boot into recovery to revert from 4.2? What is the directory I should move the items from/to? I've done some reading but it has me confused as to what exactly to do. If someone would be willing to dummy this up a bit for me it would be greatly appreciated. If really like to give this rom a try but I'm afraid I won't be able to figure out how to go back if I don't like what I flash. Thanks in advance!

Yea, thanks. Didn't know it was a problem to answer a simple question. I've always helped where I could and try to keep the questions to a minimum. Thanks for the link... Took the plunge tho and did some reading. Think I figured it out. Mods please lock or delete. Thanks.

Anybody going to build a 6.0 AOSP ROM?

So the title says it all. Will anybody building a 6.0 stock AOSP ROM for the Sprint S4? It's safe to say a 6.0 GPE update will not be coming.
I've looked into building one but I don't have enough exp to do so. Should be doable with CM device and vendor files?
Would be great if somebody starts this on github or something
