I am on the AT&T Variant of the Moto X and was wondering if anyone was having issue with Touchless Controls not working. It has been working fine since day one and I noticed today that it wouldn't work. I rooted using the Moto Root and then PwnMyMoto. When I boot, the option to use them is turned off and when I enable it I get no response from saying the keyword. If I try to retrain it, It will not respond to the "Okay Google Now" Attempts. I've verified that the mic is working fine and I've tried several different noise levels.
If anyone has a solution or suggestion, let me know to possible help people who have this issue

I'm having the exact same issues on my Verizon Moto X. I'm hoping you found a fix for yours or that someone can chime in
Tried a factory reset?

Is anyone else getting "False Positives" from Touchless Control? I've been getting several per day where I may be in conversation with someone and perhaps I say "OK" as part of the conversation but Touchless Control thinks its been given a command. Especially annoying when it proceeds to "butt dial" someone in my contacts.
Retrain it in a quiet room. I also select confirm before dialing.
Yes, I had the same problem on my new GSM unlocked one, was not a problem on my other one.
It activated even when I wasn't speaking several times.
I retrained it and has been fine since.
It happens...not a big deal if you select confirm before dialing....as Steve-x said.
Sent from my Moto X cellular telephone...
Hey guys!
I have a problem on my unlocked Moto X (1058).
After the last update (4.4.3), my GPS is losing lock everytime. I'm used to use my Moto Assist on my Moto X to listen any incoming message and call, but after this update, my GPS shows my location almost 1 km far from my home and, due that, Moto Assist is not working properly.
I realized this issue happened only with "High Precision" mode (the one that uses 3g and wifi, found in Settings > Localization) activated. "Only in device" mode shows my correct location, but I can't use Moto Assist like this.
It wasn't happening with 4.4.2. Do anybody have any idea of what it could be? I have already cleanend some apps caches, full reset, but the problem keeps going on.
I'm kind sorry for my english.
Thanks,
I have an unlocked XT1053 on 4.4.3 and use high accuracy with the gps on in Location. I had difficulty initially getting Assist Home to work, but finally got the home location set. I took about a half mile walk one evening and after returning home, Assist still didn't work. I turned off the phone for the evening and when I started it the next morning, Assist started working all by itself. It has been flawless since.
Even I am having GPS signal issues with my X updated to 4.4.3

Hmmm I am having GPS issues too. I am on Verizon with a locked boot loader and write protection disabled. NOTE: I have NOTE updated to 4.4.3 but i did get the new version of assist the day before I started having problems. However, uninstalling Assist did not fix the problem. I talked to Verizon and Moto and neither new of an issue.
Anyone know whats causing this???
Hi all,
I hope you can help me out with this, I've been looking a lot for a while in google and found no answers so my frustration led me to post on this forum. Here is the situation:
Back on 2013 I had the Magicjack app installed on my Moto X XT1058 (AT&T) stock android 4.4.2, I believe the app version was 2.7.710.1 or 2.6.661.3, and it worked fine. After installing latest versions, when I made a call I could hear the others but they couldn't hear me, I thought it was due to a magicjack compatibility issues, but all the subsequent versions didn't work either, so I had to keep using the older version.
Yesterday I factory reset my phone and installed the most updated Magicjack app hoping the problem would be solved but still the same issue, so I tried to install the old version but now it crashes immediatly once I open the app, so I cannot use the app anymore. I've been surfing in google hoping someone has the same problem but can't find anything, so it seems I'm the only one with this issue. I'm hoping someone had the same problem and found out how to solve it.
Thank you very much.

I use magickjack and had the same problem. I found a workaround. When you make the call press the speakerphone button to turn it on. Then press it again to turn it off. After that it works perfectly for the call. However it's not permanent. I have to do this every call I make.

Thanks a lot man, such an easy solution... In any case its weird this happens on moto x, i live with my two brothers, one with S3 the other with Nexus 5 and they don't have any issues... Anyway I don't mind pressing the speaker each time, thanks again!!
I am experiencing a similar problem with my ACER Wifi only tablet ( no sim version). Any suggestions please.
Hi all
I am running lollipop and was wondering if I should use the moto custom voice to wake device with screen off, or use the one built into lollipop in Google now.
Is one better than the other ?
Besides being able to use a custom phrase on moto voice ?
I remember reading somewhere that the Google works better cuz its direct.
Any feedback would be much appreciated
Thanks and have a great weekend

Try them both, pick which one you like better.
Google Now can't wake your device unless it is charging.
Only Moto voice will work with the screen off of its not charging.

That's not correct. Lollipop has it built into the OS. Check under google now / settings and voice (voice detection). It's there. Screen off as well. And I think it works better than the moto x one after testing.
I'm well aware of it supposedly being built into lollipop. But it doesn't work with the screen off on the moto X unless its being charged. I've disabled moto voice, enabled google now voice detection from any screen and turned the screen off. Said "OK Google" nothing happens. There have been a few of us here that have tried it and it doesn't work. It does work, though, when it's being charged. If you're able to get it to work please let us know how you did it because I would rather use Google now.
My Google settings on CM 12. Does not work unless plugged in for me.
Haha my bad. I also have a nexus 6 so when I went to my moto X I assumed that it was the same. And I guess I tested it with the screen on. And alas, upon trying it, you are right. It doesn't work when the screen is off. Oops
This thread is close to the question I was researching but my question is more generic. I just got my new MotoX a couple days ago and I'm confused, what is the difference between Google Now or the Moto Voice apps? My old phone was a MotoX 2013 so I'm used to using Google Now for everything, now my new X seems to have two apps that do the same thing? What's the deal?

Moto Voice can wake up your phone, which Google Now cannot. Moto Voice can read your your new notifications (either on command, or during a set period of time), Google Now cannot. Most other voice commands are heard by Moto Voice, and then passed over to Google Now. The two don't really overlap in their abilities. They work together to give you the best of both worlds.

Oh, now I get it! Thanks!
Recently I've noticed that my Moto Voice isn't working like it should.
For example, it'll only allow me to ask it one question, then any following questions and it'll ignore them with a sound as if it has rejected my voice.
I've already reset my phone to factory settings before anyone asks but it's not made a difference.
Even if I ask if what the weathers like, it'll say half of the first word then go silent but still display the right info on the screen.
Anyone else getting this?
I'm not rooted and am running on Marshmallow if it helps.
I've tried retraining my voice and cleared the cache of the Moto app but no luck.

How did you get Moto Voice to work, I can't get it to work with Moto App
