Hi all!
Is there any ways of changing back the /system and /data partition to it's old place?
400Mb it kinda small.
No your stuck I'm afraid. Have a look at the Helly Bean rom which will use a different partition layout. That will have more space for apps.
Just move apps to sd card in settings.

you can mover few apps to system partition, this will give you more space.
^And lag.

Can't add all my apps to SD, because the OS would die of the lag.
It would be good to create a data forder in /system and link it to /data (it may be stupid).

App data is stored on /data when you move to sd natively. The rest of the game has to be read, so no lag at all. data stays on fast chip.

But the data that stored on my lil bit slow class6 sdcard makes the system slow.
By the way I can't see that speed up after the partition change. I hope pawitp will change it back.

You can do it yourself quite easily by compiling CM10 from source. All you need to do is revert the kernel and os changes that were made by Pawitp. After that you can build your own nightlies. Take a look at the guide to compiling CM10 from source thread. Also, here are the commits you'll need to revert:
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_kernel_samsung_aries/commit/0c3f5d384b092e6d9874faed0c1122c95e6ca32b
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_samsung_aries-common/commit/8778488c4920d2245164a8c99f89e85f664e6a50
As you can see from my signature, I've already done this myself.

You can if DerTeufel is open source Semaphore can be used. Stratosk is open also Kasper (Mackay kernel)
You have many options. The choice is yours.

As we stand right now, with all the kernels/ROMs flying around... what would be a choice that would give us more space for apps? I only got 366 MB now on CM10 and in the last year the app sizes has grown (generally speaking). After installing all Gapps, some mandatory day-to-day apps and a GPS app I am kinda out of space for any other apps. That's sad... 4 years ago when I bought the phone I had ~100 apps installed (of course, the phone worked like c**p but the space was there).
Well, i'm using Django Manouche ICS Rom x1.4 (before, i was using Flex Icer 4.2) and my problem is how i can made a swap between Internal SD with the External SD, because with the 6 GB of the Internal SD i can´t install a lot of games.
Sorry for my English, i speak Spanish!!
Thanks!!!
i have the same problem with yours...

Directory bind
For now, there is no way to make that swap. But there are other solutions, like directory bind app. It can be found and downloaded here, from xda, just search a bit. With this app, U can map directories on external sd, to internal sd. I'm using it with DJMX 1.4 and it works fantastic, stable. Using the m version of directory bind.

Just hijacking an old thread rather than adding a new one...
Has anyone tried hacking the environment variables in the framework so that the EXTERNAL_STORAGE variables point to /mnt/sdcard/external_sd instead of /mnt/sdcard?
It's not a full swap of internal/external SD, but it should mean that games and apps install by default to the external card without having to mess about with mounts.
If anyone has tried this and failed or just thinks it is a really dumb idea, let me know. Otherwise I'll probably just experiment with it myself and break my phone a few times...
------
Tried it out and it looks like it might work OK. Big thanks to Kyrie1965 over on this Xperia Z thread, I'm basically just porting his method over onto the O2X http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239289

I would like to ask somebody if there is a solution to switch sd cards in android 4.4 kitkat. Any help is appreciated.
What do you mean by switch cards, are you saying that physically changing them?
He means using an external microsd card as the phones internal SD memory.
I've been thinking of doing this myself because you can buy micro SD cards that perform much better than the i9000's internal SD memory..

You are right. Now I am in Mackay 4.3.0 which is android 4.3 where kernel provides changing them. I want to know if there is something similar possible in 4.4
I'd like to know too. If it's possible I'll buy a fast microsd card and do it myself.. I've seen people doubling their read and write speeds, possibly more, by doing this. But I'm not sure if it's doable on 4.4

Depending on the build, it could be achieved by init d or build.prop when fstab aries switch does not work. look here for different methods. you need to test it out yourself.

Have you ever tested/used the external sd card instead the internal because of performance???

What do you mean? I am using external instead of internal but on Android 4.3 and in this thread I am asking if somebody knows if is in some way already working on android 4.4. Our it can be only by compiling kernel for that?
Today I bought a new micro sd toshiba exceria class 10 (95 read/30 write) and I want to be able to load some apps from the external sd but I have the CM 11 version of pawitp.
I've tryed some ways to do that but seems that doesn't work on this ROM... any suggetion?

The main reason for switching is that,
1) you can have a larger storage
2) If anything goes wrong , you can easily replace card to solve problem
3) performance will depend on user and usage, as SD cards performance is based on video recording and playback capability ( read this to understand it )

I only wanted to know if it makes sense because from performance-view to use external instead of the internal memory ...

Dodging The Question At Hand
I think the OP's question was quite direct and to the point. Lets repeat it:
"How do you swap internal storage with external storage in Android 4.4 (KitKat)"
In Android versions 4.1/4.2 you could edit vold.fstab and accomplish this goal.
In Android version 4.3 things changed and you had to edit build.prop to accomplish the same goal.
Now... in Android 4.4 neither of the two methods work. If you find a solution to said problem by all means post it. Otherwise you're filling the post with useless BS that people have to sift through just to get to point.
So save your maybe this and maybe that. Either post a solution that works or keep your mouth shut. Especially if you don't even understand the question/topic. Guessing does't help.

I spent several hours messing with the build.prop and sifting through the source code to try and come up with something, but had no luck. I do know however it's somehow linked to SELinux being set to Enforcing.
Nothing's impossible.
And is it possible with the stock rom 2.3.6 ?

Actually there has been a separate kernel made for CyanAOSP 1.4.1 which combines NeatKernel. So it's not a simple file edit, but I'll take it

Well, I gave it a go and I still have a phone. In fact, it works wonderfully. Split camera works without any issues. Same goes for voice capturing on camera app. There's no way to update PRL/data profile via settings, but its small potatoes.
Also, seeing that if you're reading this, you're probably on a Sprint HTC One, flash the data fix. Once phone boots, you may also want remove some of the Verizon related apps via Titanium Backup or root explorer. Again, also tiny tubers.
I don't really understand this, some very unorthodox stuff. Sounds interesting enough though.
Basically the ROM uses your kernel, libs and the like on your working ROM and installs everything else around it.
Most trials of getting the EYE experience to work on our phones (via porting) usually has one thing not working, while others do.
This uses the stuff you already have to make it work successfully without breaking anything else.

Hit the arrow underneath that tab. That website is way more complicated than it needs to be, believe me. lol
You click on the file name, and do that each time until you reach where the yellow button states of a file of 1.3gb. Click the blue d/l arrow underneath that.
If you have Google chrome on Desktop just right click on the webpage and hit translate to English.
Alright. This was fun. To actually have the HTC Eye Experience working was actually a treat. But to not have LTE? Not so much. But this might be on the right track for installation and leaving the drivers to be install the
ROM.
I wish I could try it but it needs a mirror, I attempted to download it and it said 22 hours lol normally I can DL a gig in a few minutes.
Hi, I'd like to know what title says: Kernel version (in about phone), if this device supports camera2 API by default and whether it is armeabi-v7a or arm64-v8a. Thanks in advance
Kernel: 4.4.21
Camera2: Yes. This phone has a Hexagon 642 DSP and a Sectra 160 ISP. Link.
ARM: armv8 (64-bit CPU)
Check on Geekbench or CPU-Z, this phone actually uses 64-bit Android.

I don't remember the exact size, but it's right around half of the 32GB. I think it was right around 15-16 GB usable?
The system takes up 13.1 GB, and "OTHER" is another 2.7 GB.

Yeah I wasn't super impressed with almost exactly half of the storage being used for the system. OTOH, you do get a microSD card slot, and considering that a 128GB U3 microSD card is like $45, I'm not that worried.
