[Q] Integrate an App to the ROM - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello friends.
What I'm thinking to do is for example to use the Holo Locker not as an application that you download it as a system.
I mean that when you install the ROM and this post would be something more like changing the ROM with things I want, I want to know how to do that without having to downloading applications, only I modify the ROM before and when installing have what I want.

You can do it manually or with apps like Titanium backup.
In Titanium Backuo is a function: Integrate user app into system (Idk if this translation is correct since I'm not using it in english, bit you'll find it).
If you want to do it manually download the .apk file of your Holo Locker and place it with a file manager into /system/app/(here) , give permissions rwrr and reboot

Sparkmod 1.15 how to switch from launcher pro to pro plus

I got the apk and all but im wondering how can i switch it i tried and it said install failed
Simply uninstall the regular launcher pro and then install plus.

it wont let me theres no option to uninstal it well there is but i cant click it
Im not sure how to do it
Use titanium backup to remove it. Or use the custom update.zip tool to create a startup script that will delete launcher pro, and replace with it with the new apk.
I have a script I can share with you that does that plus a few other things, just flash in recovery
Could u share it with me or show me how to use the titanium backup thing sorry im slightly new feel free to PM me
Can you please share with me as well - thanks

Why would you want to add apks to the system? not like you'll be distrubuting the rom is it? so the answer to that may be pointless...
The wifi thing - hmm, possibly unless the rom specifies that it has N enabled..
Fonts - I don't believe you can, I think you have to use an app from the market like FontChanger to change fonts.
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong,

well i want to remove some coz i dont use them and add those i use.
and yes i manualy correct wifi setings and is working ok
fonts <- by the way question
Well you can certainly remove some from your system folder and add apks no problem, sorry, I misunderstood, that is fine, you can remove specific ones, taking care to not remove any "core" apks... dialer.apk for example..
For fonts you can download an application called FontChanger from the market, that allows you to use different fonts you can download from websites (www.dafont.com for example) and use these as your standard font

Yes he is right. You can not install new fonts by copying them into font folder. Have to install Font changer.

[Q] Can I put apps on my Rom or does it have to be stock?

I Could i put some apps on my rom i am making like Go SMS or Go Launcher ,camera 360 e.t.c and how can i do that and is it possible to remove apps like LG Home???
Why not ? It is a fully working rom, like stock - and you can install apps on stock rom, can you ?
So don't worry about it, knock yourself out (metaforically speaking )
Get them from google play store

In order to put apps to your current rom, push the desired apk file to /system/apps/
and change its permissions to "rw-r--r--" (same permissions as the other system apps)
(Root access and root file manager are required)
You can simply add and remove apps to system/app, but remove only the ones that can be removed (search for the list) and add them in the format: com.bkablabla-1.apk, otherwise they might not be updated. And you might need some libs, for not to get fc's...

have pressed thanks button, do i need linux os to change all these libs and other stuff or will it work on win7 and where do i download the libs because i am soon going to start to make my very own rom but needs a lot of help because i am new and do not know what to do
thanks
just remember not to put paid apps in if youre gonna be distributing your rom.....

[Q] Help with some stock-apps

Hey guys!
I've noticed that Sammy did a awful job when it comes to our stock Android.
I was a happy user of CyanogenMod but I really missed some Sammy stock apps and reverted back to stock ROM.
Now I'm creating a bareboned stock-based ROM for my personal use, but when I remove some apps, I noticed that they still appeared on my launcher.
On the /system/app directory, there is some Launcher*.apk files, where the * is something like AlarmClock, Browser, Calculator. The apps that I removed only disappeared when I deleted the matching Launcher*.apk too.
I wonder if there is some way to bypass this? By bypass I mean, remove the Launcher*.apk files and still have the icons on my launcher.
Thanks!
Maybe u can try using Root Uninstall.. See if it help u out to clean up all the apps that u wanted to remove include the system/app files also u can remove it easily....
here u can get the apps
link
Correct me if Im wrong ok.
Thanks for the help, but this is not what I want I think I wasn't clear enough. I want to remove the dependency of a second APK to show the icons on my launcher. Guess that is has been hard-coded by samsung. Oh god, why...
Try titanium backup, make backup then restore, I dunno why, but it worked for me with some apps. Or try a different launcher and see what happens.

I'm using Holo Launcher I'm gonna try it another time, maybe LauncherPro and ADW.
I noticed that this only exists in my Brazilian ROM, since this don't happens on the XWKTM. therefore, this thread isn't needed anymore. Thanks for those who helped!

[Q] noob questions

i have a few questions which after a lot of browsing also i cannot understand..
1) you know, all that stuff like v6 supercharger adrenaline, activo speeder and so on, what is the difference b/w all of these? which ones should i flash? and suppose it is already there in my rom how do i know about it? many people give different answers but im using blackdroid rom so along with that if anyone knows anything?
2) I recently found a rom whose font i really liked. if i wish to add that font in my current rom how do i do that? please keep it simple because i couldnt understand anything in other threads.
(PS to use font changer root do i need to extract the font from the rom?if so how?)
THANKS!!
v6 is available for just a few ROMs and setting it up isn't easy for novice users. If you have adrenaline engine, you can't flash anything else, because it gives bootloop. Activo is friendly to other scripts, so it's a choice for anybody who has no idea what should give bootloop.
For the font: wait for someone else, because I never change fonts
to change fonts all I do is use root explorer then goto system/fonts then replace DroidSans.ttf (this is the main font used by android) with the font you want to use and make sure you rename it to DroidSans.ttf and set permissions. you can also change all the fonts this way but just make sure you rename them and set permissions.. . do a nandroid backup just incase then reboot.

If you want to know if there are scripts in Rom write to developer
In v1 of BL Rom I didn't add any scripts like this, but in v2 (you can find changelog on my thread) I added some useful
---------
You can also check it by looking in to system > etc > init.d folder
