Hey everyone,
I googled around but I cannot find an answer. My boss also has an HTC one since yesterday, and his shows an unread messages number on the email icon on his home screen (default HTC e-mail app). He says it was there from the beginning.
Does anyone have an idea on how to resolve this? I am running stock Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 (unrooted).

I use Nova Launched with Tesla Unread
Yes that is an option, but I use a lot of HTC widgets which I can't use with Nova right? I also use Blinkfeed a lot. Any other ideas?

You mean this (screenshot below)? It should show the unread count, but if you swipe away the notification in the status bar, the unread count will also go away.

Hey all
Just got the OTA 2.2 build FRF91. So far its been great. However I do have one problem. It is extremely annoying that the new messaging client shows the contact icon on every message within a thread. Is there a way to make it so within a thread the messages just show the name of the person. Like how it was in 2.1? Or is there a way I can put the 2.1 build of the messaging client on froyo? Thanks

Don't think so. Why don't you use a third party SMS client like chompSMS which allows you to customise the UI?

Hi
I have my galaxy s on the latest jph firmware and rooted and ryans lagfix applied. I am really pleased at the moment with the phone apart from an issue with email notification.
I have created shortcuts to my email acounts on my home screen but when i get emails it does not notify me on the homescreen only in the task bar. On my htc desire it tells me how many i have in each acount. Any ideas what im doing wrong or how i get around it.
Thanks

Anyone?
i thought this would be a simple issue
Well, i have the stock messaging app, and using TW launcher 4.. so its literally stuck on the home screen. That being said, ive decided to use that app because i like the TW launcher. My problem is, because that app doesnt have the popup notification, i downloaded SMS popup, and now whenever i reply to an sms using SMS popup, it doesnt mark the message as read. And it also shows a little blip with (#) of unread messages right there on the home screen.
How can i fix this?
Thanks
probably something the app maker needs to fix. I would email them. I use go sms right now and when I read it through the pop ups it kills the notification.

lol, the app maker is samsung i dont see them fixing it anytime soon. I would use go SMS but i like the stock tw launcher... And i dont think its possible to replace the message icon (already in the launcher) with go sms. If this is possible, please let me know.
Thanks
I think for sms popup you have to disable notifications on the stock app and then use it...

Sorry, u do disable it in the stock sms app. I knew 5 minutes after I typed but I had a busy day and never got back to relieve myself of the stupidity I typed.

SMS Popup does not have any options to disable stock messaging app notifications.

That's only half of it. That only takes out the notification in the notification bar and the ringtone/vibration. In the TW4 launcher, the messaging app gets a little blip, like IOS about unread message. That is what i want to erase. I set the notification on the stock messaging app completely off, but that blip still comes here .
Its literally a circle with the number of unread messages in it at the top right side of the application shortcut. ie. (2)
Hi there whenever I restart my One I can see an notification about new voicemail, I asked Three to totally switch voicemail off what they confirmed is done. When I call voicemail number it says there is no new messages, anybody have same issue? solution?
Thanks in advvance

I remember this bug a while ago on older devices.. google it, its on the web somewhere. It's either something in the phone settings or clearing data for an app

Guys,
On my wife's Z1 she used to have a small SMS Widget that used to show up in the top right of her home screen.
Basically when she received a new message this widget popped up. Tapping on it opened up the message sent.
As I say it was a small circular widget and inside was a photo of the person or number who sent the message.
I would really like to know where it came from and why it has now disappeared.
All I know is the only Messaging Apps she has is the default and GoSMSPro Apps installed.

Thanks but it's not Facebook Messenger, I know that for sure.
At first I thought it was a product produced by using GoSMSPro but that brings up it's own themed window, not the round one that always appears in the top right of the screen.
I'll keep on looking and have a feeling without help it's going to take a long time to find it again.
