Hey all,
I was able to get my Zoom H1 microphone to be recognized on my Nook HD+ using USBAudioTesterRoot [1] app. Next step is to get my tablet to record audio through usb.
I tried RecForge Lite [2] but unfortunately it doesnt seem to recognize the usb audio device. Anyone tried to do this? Any tips on how to get this working together?

Hi,
I'm the developper of RecForge.
You won't be able to use RecForge with USB microphone.
The only solution would be to use this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.extreamsd.usbaudiorecorderpro (there may be a test version on the market too).
cool to see you here!
is usb audio supported by the official android sdk? or is it done through some complicated hack process?
also, why is there no aac recording support in RecForge? from what i read around the web, this new fdk codec is supposedly pretty good.

I'm interested in getting the USB Audio Recorder Pro for my HD+, but I don't know if it works on the HD+, and the tablet will not allow me to get the trial because it's not in google/B&N store.
Does USB ARP work, and does anyone know if it will work with a USB mixer the same as a USB microphone?

From what I understand, the developer implemented his own USB driver.
You're right, I will look at how to add the AAC support (it's just a matter of time ).
any success recording usb audio with the nook hd +?

Hi,
I am a new user to the forums. Recently I have purchased TV out original samsung 3.5 to RCA cable for TV out capability but I see distorted image on TV. Thought it was a cable problem and went to at&t device support center but they couldn't help me out because they can't test my device at there center. I wonder any one tried it and if so is there any limitation on hardware/software for captivate.
Please help.

Mine works just fine, quality is comparable to an old VHS vcr.
Some cables you have to switch the red audio out with the video to get them to work right.(use right audio for video, and video for right audio)

Thank you Nick for the quick input. I appreciate your concern.
Might want to also try jacking with the cable on the phone end.
The 3.5mm Jack isn't exactly a "Great" output mthod for Video. Try just pulling it up and pushing it down a little. You can fell where the grooves are. Just try to move them around in there to get a better connection.
Thats what worked for me @ least.
I'm slightly miffed as to why Samsung decided no HDMI out, and instead stuck with a crappy 3.5mm headphone out for video.
Works fine for me....can't seem to get the volume any louder though

I also get the same distorted video and a buzzing-hum that drowns out the audio with my 3.5 to RCA/AV cable. I have tried both tv out settings on the phone and swapping the red and yellow ends of the cable. I can, however, use my Play Station 3 to watch, copy and save videos and pictures with the usb cable. It works great and gives awesome audio and video.

Same here.
I just ordered an RCA out cable and am really excited to get it. Even thought it isn't HD it will still be really nice to do.
I was surprised with how good the quality is. I use a cable that came with my Zune dock. It matches correctly to the inputs. My phone looked much better than the Zune did using the same cables.
The audio was great, and the video was as others said VHS quality. Definately watchable. I will say the landscape quality was much better than the portrait quality. On my HDTV I want to say it wasn't full screen, but using the zoom in the TV menu it became full screen, correct proportion.
I agree that Samsung leaving out HDMI support is bad, and disappointing after they told everyone a micro-usb to HDMI cable would fix that, then changed their minds.
This is a problem I won't trouble myself with much longer, I plan on getting an Atrix when they come out.

SM Galaxy S Captivate I896 running CM7: 3.5 mm to AV out?
Hi everyone, I am wondering if anyone knows whether or not I can use the 3.5 MM to AV out option with a Captivate I896 that has been modded with Cyanogen Mod 7.
I don't seem to have the TV out option in my display settings.

As far as I know it's not (yet) supported by cm7. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Interested in the whole PS3 thing. How do hook up phone to PS3? Headphone jack to USB or a way to go micro-usb to USB?

Curti.nogg is correct, unfortunately :-( TV-out is not yet supported with CM7. Maybe if enough people talk about the devs will look into it...

I just use the usb cable that came with the phone or any other micro usb to usb 2.0 cable. Just write folders on your phone's sd card named PHOTO, MUSIC and VIDEO. Put your photos, music and/or video into the corresponding folders. Plug the phone to the PS3 via usb cable. Turn on usb debugging on the phone. Now look on the PS3 in PHOTO, MUSIC or VIDEO for USB MEDIA STORAGE. There will be all your stuff. You can copy back and forth or just play it on the tv or sound system.
Sorry it took so long to answer, I totally forgot all about this thread.
Hi,
Has anyone else tried USB DACs on their Nook HD+? I've successfully attached my O2 DAC using apps to enable OTG mode and ignore USB device power requirements.
In MX Player (HW decoding enabled) I get smooth audio playback however in Poweramp the audio slows and stutters. Is this because Poweramp is using software decoding and the load is too high? I don't have this issue when using the same setup on my SGS3. I'd like to use a dedicated audio player for convenience, if possible.
Running CM10.2-0908 Nightly (EMMC) with TabletUI and v6supercharger mods and trim-enabled kernel. Also tested without on stock CM with same result.
Cheers

I found this in a search. I am having issues with my Fiio E17 DAC connecting to my Samsung S4 CM10.2. The DAC flashes "Lock" with the phone, but the phone still plays over the speaker, not the DAC.... I made sure that in settings, advanced, sound... that "Use Dock USB Audio" was checked....

Did you ever get this figured out? Is anyone else using a USB dac successfully with their Nook HD(+)?
Thanks!

I'm trying to do something similar, I have an IPEVO VoIP conference speakerphone thing (Model CDCA-01IP) that works over USB and has great sound when used with a computer. I'm powering it with one of those USB cables with a second plug for added power and one of those batteries for charging USB devices and connecting it to an S3 with CM10.2 with the OTG cable. The idea was to be able to do conference calls on site with better audio quality and have a rigged up speaker for the shop.
Anyway, Apollo delivers unusable stuttering sound with lag for volume changes. Trying MX Player for hardware acceleration also produced unusable sound and a similar story for speakerphone function.
A coworker with a stock S3 did not have these issues, so it appears to be a weakness of CM.
Excellent, I'm glad I'm not the first person to try this!!
I'm thinking of a new DAP, and looking at the iBaso DX50 or Fiio X3, I see both of these can act as USB-DACs.
I use my Nook HD+ as semi-portable movie screen and think the sound could do with a bump in quality to match the visuals. Any update from OP or other posters on success getting this to work?
Cheers!
More info please

Hi, I've been trying to make sure I can find a good way to utilize a PS3 controller for my nook hd+. One issue I've seen people run into is the power requirement of the controller and having to hide behind a powered hub. In this post you say you've found software to ignore the USB device power requirements, could you elaborate on how you did that and with what software? Thanks so much.

It's an app called TPUSBUMount. You can find a download link and more information that you should read in this topic.
Latest version appears to be 6, but it might not work on CM11. In that case, you can use the first version from here.
Does someone tried an external dac on the G2? Does it work? Every DAC is compatible? I ask this because I have to buy an USB DAC for other purposes and, before buying, I want to choose one (if exist) that can be compatible with g2
You'll need to provide more details. Are you trying to OTG connect a DAC? If so, it probably won't work. Those not intended for Android use will not contain drivers for Android phones.
If you're looking to buy a NuForce Icon or FiiO E18, those will work because the G2 supports OTG, and the majority of custom ROMs retain that functionality as well.
So just post what DAC you're looking to buy. You're got every reason to be forthcoming. There's no way to tell without knowing the specific model DAC. If it's intended for Android use (i.e. the manufacturer advertised it as compatible) then it should work.
There quite a few that work with both nexus 7 ...so i wouldnt thinkg it being g2 would matter as long as its comptatible with other android over otg should work for g2 ..... Im getting a fiio e17 or e18 soon.

I don't have a dac but I need to buy one to be used with my hifi. I don't have choose a specific one and I ask here if there is someone that tried and get a dac working on g2.
Edit:
I have a usb headset, the corsair vengeance. That is not a dac but act like an external sound card. I connected it with usb otg cable and get the sound, but only the music played throught 'usb audio player pro' trial version. Is possible to get all the system soud directed to the external sound card/dac?
Edit2:

That means that we need modified kernel?
I have an fiio E17. It works with the G2 but i have clicks sometimes. For more than 16/48 I need USB Audio Player.
Hifimediy Sabre Asynchronous here, on CloudyG3 with the included kernel. Works fine, clicks sometimes when I start playback.
Got rid of clicks with the following additions to build.prop, normally used for Viper4Audio:
lpa.decode=false
lpa.releaselock=false
lpa.use-stagefright=false
tunnel.decode=false
Edit: False alarm unfortunately. But I have much less of them.
although this is a G2 FOrum I have a G3...
was looking for some answer to find out how to get rid of all the clicking or pops with an Asynchronous DAC/AMP. I have a HRT Microstreamer.
Anyway to fix or we all waiting for L?
Here dorimanx dev made a kernel that supports audio out to every usb device, so now every dac or usb soundcard are supported.

And here no lags or microshutters.
NuForce uDac 2 works well. Tested also cheap Beyerdynamic's USB soundcard and played too.

Hi guys, can you please link products do connect Mi 8 on a external Display?
If you have one, can you put links here?
I'm trying to find a way to use on my TV
The are usb type-c to hdmi converters.
Anyway, the maximum speed of the USB on this mobiles is really slow (30MB/s). It's theoretically able to provide a good video but in practice it's not.
mi 8 don't support mhl over usb c so it's not possible
I'm using mibox 3. it works good.
I am also interested in this subject. I do have a multimedia car stereo with HDMI in and I would like to mirror the MI8 to it (to watch movies or the navigation app).
I did understand that it doesn't support MHL or whatever BUT I was wondering if there is any other options (Displaylink as example) that is compatible to use in car (so that is not needed to be powered or that can be powered thru usb and that doesn't need WiFi).
Any help/idea?

i use apowermirror installed on both PC and Cellphone (make search over google, it's easy), connect PC to the phone through USB or WIFI and have phone display on PC and viceversa, can make plenty of settings and quality... this way then i have the PC connected on my main high quality TV and there we go, no latency high quality phone on TV and i use it for gaming for example connect bluetooth gamepad to the phone, launch high quality android games such as life is strange and played with high experience on TV, this as usefull when i was sick and ill at home and had no good pc and no consoles.... was a very good experience.... the only downside is that apowermirror can transmit in "FULL SCREEN" only with paid VIP pro version.

Hello guys, I have a big question here,
As you may know, red magic 3 do not have its own screen recording, so you will need to use app with that crappy sound via mic or root it to install a bunch of things to can use internal audio, but i don't want that, i want to stream and record gameplays with very good audio and good video quality, the question is the next: will the capture card elgato HD60s works with this phone? i mean, i can use an HDMI splitter to can use usb type c to hdmi and bypass the block thing but i'm not sure, maybe someone knows more about this, will this phone be able to send audio via the usb type-c port?

Nope as they told me in the chat some days ago in facebook messenger
Your phone seems on Global ROM. CN rom has a built-in screenrecorder that can record internal sound.
You have an option to flash your phone to CN rom.
I haven't tried using capture card or USB-C to HDMI.
I have a CN Rom Nubia Red Magic 3, but when I stream to youtube, fb live, i use Android screen mirror with OBS
This video taught me how to do it.

Even the global ROM has internal screen recorder now. On the 1.16 or 2.10 version.
