Anyone feel like helping a fellow HTC user out - Sprint HTC One (M7)

SO i almost got no sleep last night since I tried to flash/root/unlock my phone to put google play edition rom on my htc one sprint (I now know there is no such rom) so I accidently deleted something and messed up phone, luckily a very nice guy helped me out and sideboot a custom rom similar to the offical stock htc one sense 5 OS. anyways I found a backup on my computer that I made and now i'm looking to get it on my phone and flash back to my original OS that came out of the box.
I am really new to this so if anyone can chat me through this ill be on google plus right now

There is a Google play edition Rom for sprint by gruesomewolf but just ruu if you want stock but you need to relock your bootloader back first

ok now what is it exactly that you want to do? flash the stock rom, unroot and stay with what Sprint gave you out of the box or keep root flash the stock back it up and use a custom rom?

this is the Sprint stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368907
this is the Sprint RUU http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250904
this is the noob toolkit to make things easier for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236814
this is the Google Play rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2371960
any questions just ask
If you want to use your backup thats on your pc just make a backup of the rom you have now then go on the pc and find the folder on your SD card it will be in (TWRP) or (CWM) and paste the backup from your pc into that folder with the one you just made... go into recovery and restore....done!

Download the RUU
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22979706399752931
Then unzip, and run from your PC. It will put it back to 100% stock OS. You plug your phone into the USB cable before running it, it will cause your phone to reboot and install to factory. Once it is completely done, about 10 minutes later, you will be able to activate it, and have to run the Over The Air (OTA) update.
Good Luck!

We got it fixed

[Q] RESOLVED!!! Help with rooting ICS

My apologies if someone has already posted this, but i couldn'f find a post that was able to help me.
I had my HTC vivid rooted before updating to ics.
I relocked the bootloader and updated using the ruu.
After the update i unlocked the bootloader and needed some help rooting again.
I tired using the vivid all in one kit(thinking that would be the fastest) from the forum but that just made my phone freeze on the white htc screen.
i just "reinstalled" ics because that was the only way to get my phone to work again (phone works fine now)
So the question- How do i properly root my phone running ics
Someone correct if wrong. I dont think that tool will be compatible with ics. I to have updated to ics and I havent seen a post yet for an easy way to root or re root after upgrading to ics. I hope someone can find a flaw and bring back the one click root, like way back on the incredible with unrevoked.com. plug n click your phone boom all automated.

The easiest way is to use wild child's recovery.

Here is his site. You will have to register but he gives instructions and even a video on how to set it up.

He also provides awesome roms. Just read everything before you do anything!
uh? i dont see the vivid on his site? unless im missing something... whatever happened to just using cwm
You have to register first for the Vivid section to show up.
just got cwm on the phone hope this is helpful to someone else
dl recovery-cwm-vivid-5.5.0.4b2.img (got mine from the vivid all in one)
do the same you would if you were unlocking bootloader
instead of typing the "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin)
type "fastboot flash recovery recovery-cwm-vivid-5.5.0.4b2.img"
obviously files have to be in the correct area mine are all under c:\
hopefully that helps someone

It is basically the same idea but it is called touch recovery. It also works with gb and ics. Just like poster above said, you have to register to see the vivid section. Just read everything on the process and you will have recovery in no time!

You can also go here:

now that i have cwm, how do i root my phone?

I think it installs root when you install the recovery. You should see superuser when you boot back up after installation.
No go, no superuser and no root either. tried using titan backup as a tester it says i dont have permissions
I guess I had perm root. Did you look in the dev section and try the root file there?
It's in the superguide.

It is in the stickied section and it is called superguide. It is under the devolopment tab here in the vivid forums.
It has a root file there you can apply in cwm.

If you don't figure it out let me know. I am about to play around with my phone and will see if I can figure anything out.

Glad I could help you! Just be careful with updating apps from tb. Try to avoid bringing data from gb to ics because it can cause problems. I would just install apps, you can try apps + data but sometimes it messes with things.
RESOLVED!!!!!
here's how i re-rooted my phone after ics ruu update
Unlock the bootloader following htcdev
dl recovery-cwm-vivid-5.5.0.4b2.img got mine from the vivid all in one tool (located inside the data folder, im sure you can find the file on this forum but i happened to have the all in one tool)
do the same steps you would if you were unlocking bootloader
instead of typing in cmd "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin"
type "fastboot flash recovery recovery-cwm-vivid-5.5.0.4b2.img"
that will get cwm onto your phone
Next follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416836
skip down to step 2
follow the steps but IGNORE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE PH39IMG.ZIP
just boot into recovery with cwm and install from external sd the vivid_cwm_root ver.2
and voila fin!
this is probably not the most efficient way to do this but this is how i did it
hopefully this is helpful to someone

Htc Wont bring up recovery mode

Okay i have waited about 2 weeks and scoured the ends of the internet, and maybe i missed something along my search if i did please let me know what post i missed. i would really love to figure this out. So i wanted to root my Cricket paygo desire c, i am not new to rooting (new to rooting htc though) i have rooted about every android device i have ever owned. i had downloaded HTC Desire C All-In-One Toolkit V2.0 [1-1-2013] [PERM ROOT]
if you havent already pls read the directions on this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004198&highlight=all+in+one
Unlocked the boot-loader got all the way through clicked on install CWM it said it had done it. i clicked on the button to push SU through to the phone. went to go to the recovery screen to install su and red lettering appeared. i let it sit like that for about 2 hours trying to be hopeful about it going into recovery. i am too new to post in the all in one toolkit forum and every time i try to message the author it says there was an error. my phone still goes into boot-loader and still boots up just fine but i don't have full root access. so any help would be appreciated. greatly.
no shame self

I can't remember the last time i saw the dev of that tool on this forum .
Personally i would ditch the tool and do it all manually .
Follow the directions here how to
I do know CWM has been updated Post 42 but I personally prefer to use TWRP TWRP especially since it has official backing by the TWRP team (thanks to Nikhil for both updated cwm and all the twrp work )
All I can say is follow the guide above and see how it goes for you .
Post back if you bump into any other issues and if I can't help I'll email one of the knowledgeable guys to come look at the thread
(there is an issue with usb ports. some find using the rear usb works better and most find usb2 works and usb3 doesn't , just as a heads up )
all the best rich
isn't cricket cdma?
not sure... as far as i know the toolkit doesn't work with cdma anyway
Yes i believe it is CDMA.
this is strange as i have a cdma desire c and mine rooted fine :L all customs roms have installed no hitch
it might be becasue i have a old gsm sim card? i dunno :L
I have the exact same problem ended up bricking my one desire trying to figure it out now im not even bothering trying to do anything with my new desire great thing is I can still go to my bootloader for the bricked cdma but thats it I need to find a way to take my image from my new phone and flash it with adb to bring that phone back alive

i have ran across and tried this method too i run the . bat and it opens up recovery mode and sticks on the white htc screen with red lettering again.. i am starting to feel that this phone isnt even worth the brain power lol.
It IS because the cricket phone is cdma, I did the exact same thing and am just as frustrated because I have also rooted and moved every android I've owned, this issue just never crossed my mind. What we need is custom recovery for the cdma version. If you come across it please post it here, I'll do the same. Thanks

Installing Stock Android 4.2.2 Google Play Edition Rom onto HTC One Developer Edition

Hi xda,
I would like to install the stock google rom onto my htc one dev edition.
I tried reading the guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182792
From my understanding, I can skip the first step (unlocking) since the bootloader is already unlocked for HTC One Dev.
I just want really exact details of each thing I have to do because I don't want to mess it up. This is important. ty

Slow down... Here's what you need to know:
- Yes the bootload is unlocked, what you should do is install a custom recovery program like TWRP. There's a bunch of videos on YouTube that show you how to do that with the HTC One.
- The Rom isn't ready I believe, at least it wasn't a few hours ago. There was some permissions issues the devs were working through, namely wifi, I'm sure they'll get ironed out shortly.
What's going to most likely happen is someone will create a ROM in a zip format, you'll copy that on to your phone in a folder of your choosing, then you'll boot into the TWRP recovery (again, watch videos -- that's what I did)
Read and watch as much as you can. The first time you flash a ROM is a scary experience...I'm running the ARHD 10.3 Rom right now and have been pretty happy.
Good luck.

What program do you use to backup all your data prior to flashing your HTC One?
TrickDroid has already released the Google Edition version for the HTC One. You can grab it here: http://trickdroid.org/trickdroid-1-0-0-ge-htc-one/
Install it using TWRP or CWM recovery as mentioned above.

If you're rooted, you can use Titanium Backup. If you're not, try HTC Backup under Settings or just searching on the PlayStore for applications that can backup while not requiring root - such as Helium which works great, from what I hear.

[Q] Sprint update bricked my phone. More details in post, need some desperate help.

Hi guys so this is a little embarrassing but I'm fairly certain sprint update has bricked my phone. Sprint pushed the update to 4.4 2 nights ago for me and everything was going fine. My phone is rooted and custom recovery so I slapped on the stock recovery to process the update. The update starts off fine and dandy until about halfway through the dreaded red triangle/exclamation mark popped up. I instantly cursed and watched as my phone entered into an infinite boot loop. I thought it might have worked at first because the lock screen popped up, but when you unlock the phone the white htc logo is still there and the phone reboots after 10 seconds. So after making sure something went astronomically wrong with the update, I went into the boot loader and adb pushed twrp back onto the phone. the update somehow updated my hboot to 1.55 so my s-off is now s-on and I have no wawy to tell if the kernal for the phone is functioning. My only guess to this matter is that the boot sector for the phone is corrupt, but I tried to restore the stock twrp backup i have, and nothing. It boots, the lockscreen unlocks, but it still reboots. Now it was unlocked long enough for me to get into settings and see that it wiped ALL of my phones id info. All the meid, meie, carrier, everything is blank. So it seems that the phone crashed somewhere in the update where it was in the process of wiping things? I then tried to flash a completely different rom on there to see how that went. I first tried viperone 5.0.0 then the newer 5.8.0 and neither would boot (waited 1 hour each to make sure). Then I tried arhd 61 and again, no boot. So I'm not quite sure where to go from here. My stock backups aren't working at restoring, new rom flash isnt working, I can't take it into sprint to check on it since its rooted, I can't update the kernel due to s-on (correct me if im wrong). I'm smart enough to know when I'm out of my depth and I'm clearly trying to tread water in the middle of the ocean in this instance. So please if someone could give me a hand I would appreciate it so much.

Requesting Upload Backup of Lollipop rooted

Is it possible someone can upload this to see if those without a PC will be able to upgrade like this? Just a full Twrp backup of the Lollipop. Please and thank you.
That would not be advised at all.

It really won't update everything and you won't have the full COD6 update. Suggest you buy/borrow a windows computer and use odin.
Along with most backups if I made one it would have a lot of my back up info. What do you think would happen if I am using let's say twrp 2.8.4 and your not. Or it uploaded with my efs. You flash then wonder why you have a brick. Or lets say a file got curroupted in upload or download. Way to much gonna go wrong. Ur free to try but I doubt you will find this a good path.

Why not just flash Jovy's stock rom for now:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2915737
That method is what I was trying to do, but if it was a kit Kat rom fine but every one keeps saying you have to use Odin before you can install lollipop. Also that's what led me to flashing the cod modem through twrp.
.....The name says it all. But I don't need a laptop currently, I'm away from my desktop and I don't know when I'll be near it again. I drive in a semi, throughout the states. That's why I made this unusual request. Later down the line I may get one but for now I like desktops.
That's why I was saying stock.... I should have also said before you actually complete the.......hmm times like this I wish mobile Odin would work for this phone.
