Hi,
I am using Jabra Sport earphones together with my Droid 4. Music gets streamed, but no system notifications. My music will get muted on my earphones, while the system notifications (of new messages, email etc) is played from my phone, and then the music resumes on my earphones again.
Am wondering if this is specific to Droid 4, do you have any issues with your bluetooth headsets, or is it a problem with Jabra. Or is there a setting I need to configure on my Droid 4 to play all sounds through bluetooth?
Thank you!
When listening to music (I've tried several apps) in the car using A2DP and getting turn by turn navigation I have an issue with the muting. It only happens when using bluetooth. The map app mutes the music when needed but I get no sound (directions) for about 3 seconds. I may hear the very end of the directions or not, depends on how long it takes. It seems Google Map knows to mute the music but that is also mutes the map app for a while.
This worked perfectly on my S2. This is a bone stock SM-900A
Ideas?
UPDATE: after OTA update the problem is gone using Google player.
Very annoying, but if am am palying music thru BT (either in my car or at home), the player pauses when a notification goes off
I get this on 4.4.4. It's very annoying.
In fact bluetooth audio has always been dodgy in one way or another in this phone. Apt-X stuttering, stuttering with sbs205, pausing etc.

I'm listening to google music over bluetooth headset and receive a notification (via enhanced caller ID app) that's supposed to use the TTS engine. The music is dimmed but no voice is output. I tried to test the text to speech in settings, and nothing happens if music is playing (not even a dimming of sound). However, as soon as I pause the music, the TTS test works (I hear the voice).
Is there any way to force google music (lollipop?) play the speech/notification sound during music playback? I've tried various sound mixers and settings in lollipop, but can't get this to work.
Wow, I have a very similar situation.

I'm listening to Pandora through a Bluetooth audio system in my car, A notification comes in, (via enhanced SMS and caller ID app) and Pandora shuts down as it should and Enhanced asks me if I would like it to read the message, when I respond with yes, An error comes up on the screen that say something like this, Bluetooth Sharing has stopped. When Pandora comes back on it no longer plays through audio system just the phone speakers, even though bluetooth radio says they are still connected. When I turn Bluetooth off and on again, it still will only play through phone speakers. The only fix I have found is to shut down the Nexus and allow it to boot fresh, then everything is fine until the next notification arrives, the problem begins all over. Wrote ED a letter about this, He's the creator of Enhanced Caller ID and has always responded to me. So I'm waiting to see what he says, but I have used this program on my last four phones without any issues. I think it is yet another Lollipop issue. Not happy about it and hope the next update may address it. My money says that it has something to do with the screen being off, so tomorrow I'm going to have someone send me texts while I'm paired with car and keep the screen on while streaming Pandora and see if I get different results. Somehow I think it is related to the NFC security feature that will not let you use NFC unless screen is on and unlocked. Just a guess on my part, but I bet that is where the problem lies.
Found my issue. Using viper4android in compatible mode causes issues when two sources attempt to play together. Turned off viper and sounds over music playing worked again.
I'm wondering if there's any way I can play music through one bluetooth device, while talking on the phone on another bluetooth device. I use my phone for music while driving party bus, and people get upset every time the music stops because I get a phone call.
Try that
