Hi Friend
Thankyou
i think CM10.1
presently ICS 333 Android Version 4.0.4
Kernel version 3.0.8-Semaphore_ICS_1.2.2s
I Haven't flash any other modem. Only which comes with the ROM.

Okay but you have semaphore kernel flashed ...with standard kernel is it working???
Before flashing, did you a full wipe???

Yes the phone is working perfectly except for making & receiving calls.
Yes i did full wipe.

sorry for the stupid question ...
is semaphore included in your ROM or did you flash it afterwards??
in CM10.2 for example is the kernel of pawitp and actually i flashed sema-kernel over it ...
so i`m not sure when the prob with the calls come (new kernel or prob of the rom ...)

Actually now the phone is with ICS 333 not JB
The Kernel came along with rom only.

Have you report this in this thread ??? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1618757

Happened with me few months ago when I was on MIUI.. flashing another modem didn't help and reflashing didn't help too...but flashing to some other rom and back to MIUI helped..
Thanx Guys....I'll Do that and tell u da result.
it could be also an kernel prob?
make a full wipe/factory reset/wipe cache
than install the kernel cleaning script
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166954
and the rom in CWM.
now u are free 2 choose to use the original rom kernel or a new one
and always use the script before flashing.
then try different modems! I´ve got the same problems like u, after a another clean flash und 3 modems all worked perfectly for me!
Thanx
Guys i tried the first two suggestions....which didn't work and finally i sold my Galaxy S yesterday for INR 15000.
So won't be able to try the last suggestion but will keep that in mind for future.
Thanx Everyone !

it was I9000 and i guess i got a good price for it considering the model has already been discontinued.

go to download section, take i9000.zip and common_2.2.zip
Ok thanks mate, I screwed up my phone while trying to install 2.1 before so thought better to ask
The thing is that I did download and install those 2 files only :?
Well hopefully it will work fine this time
BTW do I have to Wipe all (delvik, cache etc) or just the data?

I would do a full wipe for a clean install
P.s. btw i assume that you have cm9 or ics kernel installed before installing SlimICS?

BTW here's the screenshot of my cell-
Sorry can't post that will try that as attachment.
Great Rom, very fast. 3g/wifi is working great, Battery life is cool too. My cell was charged 8 hours ago and wifi have remain on since. Also about 25 min of conversation done too.
Hmmm i misread and thought u were installing SlimICS but good that u got JB working anyways! Btw, how much better is Slimbean compared to SlimIcs? Have been thinking about upgrading..

Can't compare it with Slim ICS as I haven't used that but it's one of the best for sure , using it for just about 24 hours but it's working great.
ICS 4.0.4 was one of the best I have used and I can say that this one beats that hands down.

Some problems after installing Ultimate JB 5.1
I came from CyanogenMod 9.1.0 Stable.
On the whole Ultimate JB 5.1 is good but:
1) Bad battery life - the wifi stays on 24x7 even though I mention only when charging.
2) The Google search doesn't include options for Evernote and Google Drive and other apps. I don't know if it is specific to this Rom or JB.
3) I can't go back to CM9. The package doesn't install anymore. Do I need to change the kernel in Ultimate JB 5.1 first?
Ultimate XXLSC JellyBean 4.1.2 v5.1
Kernel 3.0.31-593490 [email protected] #4
I wanted to post this on the much larger thread in the development section but it says newbies can't post there :crying:
is it error 7 in recovery when installing new rom? then you will need to change the kernel. but keep in mind that the other kernel you try might not be compatible with this rom and thus you will have access to recovery /download mode only. make sure you have all the required files to flash the rom before hand
Hello all,
I'm from indonesia and currently I'm on ultimate ROM 4.1.2 V5.1 from joosh and I had a problem everytime made a phone call.
The phone call always hang up or disconnect after couple times. It never let me make a phone call more than 3-5 minutes.
What do u think guys? Is it because the modem or because I had a bad signal from operator? How can I find a solution for this kind of problem...
At the first time I thought it was just a bad signal. But it happened all the time when I had a long phone call
Thanks guys and will appreciated any explanation.
Happy New Year to u all

It sounds like an unstable system have you tried another ROM with full wipes?

of course I did a full wipe.
CM9 rc3 seems to be stable although wifi connection seems to be a bit weak.
Will flash again CM9rc4 these days to exclude the flashing was maybe improper.

I had the same problem.
However, Doomsday provided a modified and updated kernel some days ago. I've been using that one for a while and I don't remember having many problems since. This is the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37952778&postcount=3555 Hope it helps!
Also, MIsterLemons has just released an updated kernel based on arco's sources which you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38059967&postcount=3575, I haven't tested that one (I rather like doomsday's additions) but his kernel might just fix your issues as well without diverging from arco's builds.
EDIT: it appears I had been lucky. I've just had 2 random shutdowns in 5 minutes using Doomsday's kernel...

Random reboots into recovery

Hello xda
I know there quite a few posts out there with people detailing their phones rebooting randomly but my phone just hit a new level of weird.
My i9000 reboots randomly into cwm recovery menu for no good reason (I know there is another thread about this but that instance is on the Nexus S and the thread has basically died). This started occurring shortly after I flashed slim ROM 4.2.2 build 5 (came from CM10.1 nightlies). Flashing the rom again and updating it to build 6 has done nothing to alleviate the issue.
I'm using the Semaphore kernel with no OC or changed settings, and having recently bought a new battery, I'm really not sure where to start looking for the problem.
If anyone can give me some tips it'd be greatly appreciate, thanks in advance.

hi
randomly i will got this problem if i m flashing backward. like from 4.2.2 - 4.2.1, or 4.1.x to 4.0.x. or repeatedly changing between kernel (i always do this to modified ROM to suits my settings n need) its probably due to changing partition in system or kernel clash (even i did all wipe) in internalsd.
Sorry to say. it will come worst sometimes if u ignore da problem or keep flashing ROM to avoid it. 'Luckily' about 2 hour ago my sgs just did. Constantly booting to recovery n its juz bootloop between kernel splashscreen n sgs white splashscreen after it.3 combo button will not working for recovery n only download mode accessible.
no more method for me . Juz flashing back to stock firmware JVU +CF-ROOT with odin was da answers
but if u dont familiar with odin.seek guide here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149455
but use it as ur last method!
clashing between titan.....no! kernel maybe da reason.do some wiping before changing kernel or ROM. n format system if necessary before flashing!

Reboots into CMW with Slim Bean 4.3 and Semaphore
Hi guys, any news on the subject? Exactly the same thing happening to me. I did a clean installation of Slim 4.3, after using CM10 and everything seems to be working perfectly except it reboots into CWM every 1-2h!!! I haven't changed any configuration and didn't mess with the kernel that came with the ROM, which is Semaphore... Is it a kernel issue? Should I try to flash the latest version?

I run into the same problem with my current update of my I9000 to CM 10.2.1 and the Semaphore Kernel 3.3.0 (JB).
Any ideas on this issue from the pros?
I realized that it was happening to me only when I was loosing the network coverage, like being in the underground or roaming or things like that... I don't know if it happens to everyone but in my case it's definitely this. If there is no network available my phone will boot into recovery after a while. If the signal is OK, it doesn't happen. Maybe it has something to do with the modem?!
