[Q] Need help to flash LT30a with Bell Mobility - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hi,
I have a Sony Xperia T LT30a running Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (9.1.A.0.489) with Bell Mobility. This is the latest update available with Bell. The bootloader is locked and the phone is not rooted.
I'm having all kind of problem that seems to be common with .489 (low battery life, Walkman won't play next song when screen is on sleep, internal speaker won't work after unplugging jack, etc).
I would like to know if it's possible for me to update to a stock odexed 9.1.A.1.141 rom with a locked bootloader and without rooting the device. I want to keep everything as stock as possible but with the 141 update. I want to keep LTE Support, WiFi and USB Tethering support, etc
Thanks!

Yes it is.
Search for the thread that tells your how to update whilst keeping lte support.
It's in the general section

Hi,
Ok I've flash my phone with this firmware : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2315572
I checked exlcude baseband during the flash. Now I don't have any LTE support anymore.
When I first bootup the phone with the new firmware, I had no mobile data connection so I've entered the Bell Mobility APN settings I found on the web.
Bell Mobility:
APN Name: Bell LTE
APN: pda.bell.ca
Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
Port: 80
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
MMSC proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 610
APN type : <Not set>
Now, it is connecting mobile data enable but it keep switching from 3G to H+. Every few seconds, it switch from one to the other but it won't connect to LTE.
I've made a backup of my stock rom with flashtool. Should I try to flash again and exlude everything except baseband?
Thanks!

Major 3G issues n1/AT&T

I am having major 3G issues with my n1 on AT&T. This seems to have started when I upgraded to Froyo and the latest radio. I've had this issue with both CM6-RC1 (currently running) as well as LeoFroYo. I have checked the APN settings and they seem correct as I got them from the cyanogenmod wiki APNlist. I get connected to 3G and the H icon appears showing that I'm on HSDPA. It works fine long enough for me to do exactly one thing. I can either load a webpage, make one call, or send one SMS and then it dies. It stays on the 3G network (never drops to edge) but the up arrow just stays lit and the down arrow never lights up. All calls will fail, no data, no SMS/MMS. If I cycle in and out of airplane mode or reboot it'll let me do one more thing... rinse, repeat.
If I go to "Network Operators" and search it finds AT&T and says it has registered on the network.
Current info:
CM6-RC1 (I've also tested with CM6 nightlies and LeoFroYo)
Kernel 2.6.34-cyanogenmod

Baseband 32.36.00.28H_4.06.00.12_7

[Q] i896 Captivate modem

Hi All,
I've been researching for quite some time now on a compatible modem for the i896 in Toronto area. I'm on Sparko KK4 rom with a KH2 modem. I've tried many GB modems(KJ1, KJ2, KJ3, KH1 etc..) but all result in my cappy having to be set to data roaming in order to get data to work. So far only the KH2 works since it's made for the i896.
Does anyone know of a compatible modem for the i896 running a GB rom? The kh2 gets poor cell and wifi signal.
what rom are you using?are your APN settings correct?
give more info about your problem, usually helps. dont think its your modem
Here are the settings I used to get data on my phone
APN: rogers-core-appl1.apn
Proxy: <not set>
Port: <not set>
Username: <not set>
Password: <not set>
Server: <not set>
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 302 (retrieved from SIM)
MNC: 720 (retrieved from SIM).
Authentication type: <not set>
APN type: <not set>

My data works and apn settings are correct as per the Fido apn settings. Since I started using GB roms, my wifi and cell signal have become poor. I'm with Fido in Canada. I used to get full cell signal and wifi signal at home and now it averages 2-3 bars of signal.
So I'm trying to test different modems because when I was on stock froyo I always had full signal(cell and wifi). But when I try different GB modems, cell works but data will only work if I enable roaming with any other modem than KH2.

Help: tbaytel/rogers can't dl/ul mms attachments

I can't seem to send or receive mms attachments like video or picture, and I am on 3G. I have rogers apn settings and can brows the net, send texts, make calls no problem.
Problem
I am signed up on tbaytel/rogers network on a 3 year plan, and live in Ottawa now for school. I lost my original rogers captivate and bought a at&t version from ebay as I didn't want to buy another tbaytel captivate.
I am using the latest cm9 captivate nightly build, yet this problem has been plaguing me since I got the at&t version. I have tried using different modems but no go.
I can't seem to get a competent answer out of tech at tbaytel or rogers. I even asked sales and can’t find anything on the net.
If someone could help me out, maybe, send me tbaytel apn settings??
I’ll try and post the logcat. I still believe that I need the right apn but I could be wrong.

I have the same problem on Rogers too. It has started since using ICS Rom builds like CM9 and AOKP builds. Mine is the i896 Rogers version of the Captivate so this is a software issue not hardware.

Hmm. I should have tried on a stock rom.. Only just upgraded bootloaders after a year, no problems but I was wondering about glitch kernel. Meh.
Anyway I'll post back if I get a hit. I'm still trying to convince my lazy brother to back up his apn for me. See how it goes. Cheers
Same situation (tbaytel here) and this post fixed things 100% without even rebooting - forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/46974-rogers-access-point-names-for-cm79/

Little confused by that. Do you mean that I need to delete "Rogers #1" and "Rogers #2", and then set the APN settings for "Rogers", "Rogers MMS", and "Rogers Tethering" to the above settings?

delete all the other APNs except the 3 he mentioned. I actually deleted all and now only have "Rogers MMS" and phone works perfect!

[Q] Sony or AT&T problem??

Yesterday, I updated my Xperia TL to the .199 JellyBean update (Belgium) using Flashtool. My phone was then bugging me about updating to .205, so I also did that. I excluded the baseband for the update to .199, however, when I now connect to data, my data symbol only shows an H+ connection. I have an LTE phone, and this has not happened before.
Here are my current APN Settings:
Name: AT&T LTE
APN: pta

LTE Baseband
I would try dialing *#*#4636#*#* --> Phone info -->Set preferred network type and select LTE/WCDMA. If that doesn't help, try flashing baseband only from the latest AT&T firmware and do the above selection.

[Q] Data issue after taking 5.1 update on XT1053

Since I took the OTA for 5.1 on my xt1053 (US GSM dev ed), I have a few issues:
1. While I can connect to mobile signal for phone calls and texts, I cannot connect for data. The status bar indicator for mobile always has an exclamation. I cannot connect. I am using T-mobile. Wifi works perfectly.
2. On nearly every reboot, Android "optimizes all apps" which takes 10-15 minutes. Very slow to reboot the phone.
I am not sure what happened, but I will retrace my steps:
a. I was using 4.4.4 rooted with an unlocked bootloader.
b. In order to take OTA, I reflashed tmo_retail_xt1053_4.4.4_213.44.1.ghost_row.retail.en.us_mr4_cfc using fastboot. (Otherwise OTA would fail, likely because I had make some minor changes while under root to system files like camera_click.ogg and bootanimation.zip.)
c. After this, OTA took perfectly. My first installation was fine, maintaining all of my apps from 4.4.4, but a few apps would crash quite often, and I was having the "optimizing all apps" issue. The data from t-mobile, however, was perfectly fine.
d. I did a factory reset in order to start fresh with a clean install. Once I did this, I started to have the issue with data connectivity.
Settings > About phone shows:
Model number: Moto X
Android version: 5.1
Baseband version: MSM8960PRO_BP_23255.138.89.00R
Kernel version:
3.4.42-g030aa2
[email protected] #1
Sat May 9 02:01:57 PDT 2015
System version:
222.21.15.ghost_row.Retail.en.US
Build number:
LA23.12-15
Can anyone help? Did I flash the wrong radio somehow? If moto had released 5.1 software images, I could reflash, but they do not seem to be available.
Okay so I ran into the same issue on my XT1053 T-Mobile. What worked for me was adding a new fast.T-Mobile APN. Once I saved it and switched to the new APN, data was working for me. Note: eventually somehow the phone defaulted back to the original T-Mobile 260 APN but data still continues to work after that. Good luck I've seen at least one other user with this problem solved by adding the new APN.

Using the apn that Perfoliate posted. Only thing is that API type did not have wap as an option, so i selected ipv4/ipv6. Lets see if this survives a reboot. Many thanks.
Update: after a reboot...
1. The optimizing apps still is occuring, making each reboot take about 10 mins.
2. The new APN did not work on boot. I toggled airplane mode off and then back on, and I am now connected to data. Odd. Partial solution (with airplane mode toggle) is much appreciated, Perfoliate.
