What do you want to know about the S3 Mini?

Hey guys, I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini... until tomorrow, I guess. What exactly would you like to know about it? I can make videos, take pictures... whatever
Give me some requests and tomorrow morning I hope to make some videos and whatever to answer your questions
Here's a picture of it compared to the S3 & Note 2.

the camera features are the same as the s3? even when it is 5 MP instead of the 8 mp of the s3?

NFC is market dependent. I am holding on to a 8gb Romania set. There is no NFC present.

Actually, it doesn't have an ambient light sensor...
The two dots seen at the left of the speaker grill are just the proximity sensor.

The features and menus seem to be identical - I don't have the S3, but I checked a couple of youtube videos detailing the camera interface and it seems to be the same. Yes, you can also change the icons around to your tastes.

Is the Galaxy S III mini's bootloader locked?
Are the sources published for S III mini?
How many devs are assigned for now to this forum?

Is this just a entry lvl phone?? Cuz specs r not that bad..

The U8420 is just a custom 8500... I couldn't see any differences between the two in all I've read.
The U8420 packs two Cortex-A9 cores clocked at 1 GHz and a single-core Mali 400MP GPU.

I still can't decide which one to choose: S III Mini or S Advance. What would you choose, and why?

I chose the S III Mini because it's newer (so I think it will get more official updates than the Advance), comes with Jelly Bean 4.1.1 already installed, has 1 Gb of RAM... and because I kinda like the design. Even if I'll probably install every custom ROM made for it, it's still good to have official updates - drivers for example are still closed source and there's only so much the future devs will be able to do without the proper drivers.
The S Advance on the other hand has less RAM (768 MB) and doesn't look as nifty. The only trouble is that I don't know how well supported the S III Mini will be (here on XDA I mean), since it's been a month since its release and still no quick root method available. The bottom line is: if you're not that into installing and testing out custom ROMs, kernels and other stuff like this, then don't worry and go ahead on the S III Mini. Else, look around, see what the guys on the S Advance threads are doing and make a more informed decision.
But, of course, if there's a big price difference then the Advance will be a better deal.

Put your phone in USB Debugging mode and send this command via ADB:

Or, install Terminal Emulator on your phone and write:

Seriously? Devs are not assigned.... They start developing on the device they have. What do you think? It's a paid thing? Read the XDA rules and manual again and again...

Do we have usb on the go support on this phone?

Need help with hyperdrive

i did everything and were able to install the hyperdrive rom s4 rls8 for my samsung galaxy s4 sch-i545 ok, its awesome the only thing that it seems i cant do its update apps from the play store like twitter facebook and so on...

You've posted in the wrong forum my friend. This forum here is for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, not the regular S4. I think you want this one.

Which exhibit is this?

So I just order some of these exhibits for my family as they are not power users and the spec seem pretty decent considering they even have a dual core but this is the phone I ordered.

Its the new t599 and there isn't anyone developing for it yet. To bad too its a nice phone.

I wonder if the root method for your phone will work for this phone. Do you guys use odin on your devices?

Just incase anyone else looks here for the same info I was looking for. With the help of now knowing the model #. I was able to find some dev info in the S3 mini section.

T679 and t559 has different boot image along with the s3 mini its a long shot bit you can try that apk root tool for the samsung vibrate even superoneclick most likley not but you never know.

Those two links I posted above are for the t599 just they are in the s3 mini forum. The t599 already has root and cwm working. Xda just sucks for making forums for things so people end up making threads in forums for other devices.

Reading through the thread the same person that got cwm working is building cm10 for it. Since these are devices are for my family though im just happy there is cwm for backups and root for deleting bloat for them.

Dual core processor and double the ram but kept the small 1500 mAh battery, that sucks

Thats the problem with battery technology. It hasnt advanced at all. The only way to make a battery with more power is to increase its size. The best battery life I have ever had is with my current device, the note 2. Its huge and powerful but because its so big they can put a large battery in it. Smaller devices how ever will always be stuck with small batteries. I wish that someone would say "ok phones are extremely powerful, now maybe we should look into making batteries able to hold more juice without making them larger. "

You sure theres no developement I have cwm and cwm touch and source code. Cm hangs on logo so I am happy. I know the guy posted the links just spreading the news for people who may want this device. It's pretty nice though.

Sim Unlock?

So i have been looking this up for a day now and I can't find anything helpful or that works. I have a att s4 active. I want to sim unlock it because its pretty much useless to me right now. I just got this phone and the guy said he got the sim unlock code from att but we have to wait 48 hours for it to go though and now he isn't texting me back at all. I don't have the money for a unlock code and i just need this unlocked asap! does any one know any working methods?

It says it supports some S4's, does it specifically say S4 Active anywhere? I couldn't see that anywhere myself. It doesn't say anything about support S4 Zoom but it worked so it's possible that the same exploit exists in your S4. If you're really that desperate, it's worth a try.

ok. i found a apk and i downloaded it but you have to have root and i don't want to root it yet.

LG G 4 camera. Is it even possible?

Every now and our great devs give us ability to install ported cameras from other devices (HTC, Motorola etc.)
I was wondering if its even possible to port camera from LG G4? Had this phone shortly between Note 3 and my current Note 4 , and its by far the best camera app I've ever seen on a cell phone (imho).
I actually have another G4 available that my wife is using, so if I can help to make this happen l would be more than happy to.

No, I don't think so.. different system files probably won't be compatible...
