Hi,
I have now Zeus 6 flashed and running fine.
1. I would have back the old LG Wallpaper (not animated).
2. I miss the old GPS icon in the notification bar too.
What do I have to download from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21587977&postcount=2
I tried the animated wallpaper pack but that is not what I searched.
Thank you.
for lg old wallpaper
- LG Home pack (original LG Launcher) (flash from CWM): From V20N version, it will work at both versions.

I tried this pack, but now the complete homescreen is as before :-(
I would like to see new (non animated) wallpapers with the Zeus homescreen.
Yes, I found out how to switch between the two homescreens.
u can simply extract the wallpaper from the lg home.apk( res> drawable hdpi) and save its to ur sd card....and then came back to ur favourite launcher...
for the icone of gps u have to change the icon of gps in framework-res.apk and systemui.apk

Hi,
I downloaded all, found a suitable one_click_signer, found the framework-res.apk but not the systemui.apk on my smartphone with Zeus6.
The old stock rom from LG had this file.
Thank you for your help.
Find it in /system/app.
there is systemui.apk

I think it's because you really have to write SystemUI.apk and not just systemui.apk... Dont know why, but sometimes that's already the reason
It's Linux

Hi,
I need another help with making flashable zips.
I read here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954281
and here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732957
and at some other places without really understand this.
I now have two changed .apk files and don´t know how to proceed.
You need to make folders first.
Call one "system" inside make a folder called "app" and one called "framework"
Insert SystemUI into the app folder and the framework-res into framework.
Then you need to make an updater-script, or you copy it from another flashable .zip, which also contains systemUI.apk and framework-res.apk.
Then make another folder called META, insides one called "com" inside "google" and "android" inside it. Insert the updater-script and update-binary into it, zip those two folders together in one .zip, sign it, and flash it

There are some mods in themes and apps, and there are 2 ways to mod battery icon, wifi, signal etc.
The easy way is ti make a flashable zip from the uot kitchen. There are many tutorials all over the internet how to work with the kitchen.
The advanced way is to manually edit framework-res.apk that can be found in system/framework/. Here are also more options to work with, personally i use an archiver (WinRAR), and folders, i copy all the contents from the framework-res.apk in some folder named how do i want.
In that folder i make all the changes i want to make, battery and other icons, xml and other things, after that, i copy all the contents back in the framework-res.apk, and make a flashable zip, the flashable zip can be scavanged from other flashable zips so you don't need to know what i actually does, only edit the flashable zip in the same way, for example you can download the battery mod provided by me here and just change the framework-res.apk inside the zip and flash it
Hope this helps.

Thanks man! i got your point. I was able to change the battery icon, sync icon but i tried to look for the .png file for network icon and wifi but i can't seem to find it in framework-res.apk. I think were both using the same ROM if im not mistaken.
Actually i change things directly inside the ROM drag and drop method using 7zip and after editing things i reflash the ROM again. Im still learning things and with the guidance from the XDA developer team i hope to learn more. Can you enlighten me this one .
Thanks for your quick response!

Note that some notification icons and other icons can also be found in system>app>SistemUI.apk
Check there, there should be the missing icons you need.
Yes, you can do it your way, by flashing the ROM again with your changes made, but it takes more time, it is recommended to flash only what you need and i recommend using a more light .zip, like an existing theme or app flashable .zip, i gave you in the other post the example of the battery mod, you can take that .zip and add the needed folders into the system folder inside the zip and the files inside the respective folders, in this way you flash only what you need, and that .zip can be used to flash different apps or themes. (some apps require specific permissions and those need to be manually added, but this is another story, you can always set permissions using a root browser/explorer).
Hope this helps

Hi
I had played with Virtuous Ten Studio and i was trying to learn from scrats.
in the insanly cool sense there is an bad translation to danish in systemUI, in english the automatic brightness translated to automatisk lydstyrker, also automatic sound, in decompiled systemUI with VTS and edited the xml file for danish and then compiled the apk file again and pushed it to the device and checked for permission and edited them as they shoud in the file and rebooted.
i also tryed recompiled the apk and copyed it over on sd card, set permission and copy into system/app folder again and then reboots with same result
results was:
NO STATUSBAR i tryied everything but the only way i could fix it was using the orignial apk file again ?
what did i do wrong?

not sure.. didn't find any guide on theming / modding Sense esp 3.6.. u have anything on it?
as i understands it, VTI can maby do it, it supports sense 3 and up, i have maby some link at my home laptop but not here at work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473293
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645650
there is a start maby
Edit:
after reading the link about modding battery icon it makes sense :
Sense 4.0/3.6 (ICS)
1. Pull /system/app/SystemUI.apk from your phone
2. Rename SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.apk.zip
3. Using WinRAR copy attached "res" folder (in zip) directly into the root of SystemUI.apk.zip
4. Leave the settings and just hit OK.
5. Rename back to SystemUI.apk and push to device
*This method may work for Sense 3.6 ROMs as well. If not, see below.
i had read a place that the systemUI.apk is signed, and only works if it is signed, but when you decompile it and compile it again the sign disapper. therefore as i understands it you may not decompile the original systemUI.apk file, you just push the files that you edited in the file, as it say i point 3. i had not tried it out yet but i do to night and i may think it will work

I always use the last method that you describe here when modding frameworks and SystemUI's, and had no problem so far with any ROM i modded/themed, not too many to be honest, i modified Sense v3.6's Battery only, but that change was in framework-res.apk not in the SystemUi.apk.
Don't know if this can help you in any way, but i believe feedback is always welcomed

Yep sure. Basically all of the softkey images are PNG files stored inside SystemUI.apk. And it's really straight forward if you just want to replace PNG files such as battery, signal and softkey icons.
There are two ways, you can either decompile SystemUI.apk and replace the PNGs inside (harder, time consuming method) or use a program called 7zip to open the apk archive and replace the PNGs (easier, quick method).
I used the second method to replace the softkeys. Here's how to do it:
*Always backup in recovery before modifying files*
Install 7zip
Right click SystemUI.apk and select 7zip -> Open archive
You'll see a few files/folders, open 'res' then 'drawable-xxhdpi' you'll see lots of PNG files
The ones I replaced were 'ic_sysbar_home.png' and 'ic_sysbar_home_land.png'
Drag these two files to the Desktop and open them with Photoshop or any image editing software
Erase the existing image and replace with any other desired logo/icon and save (remember the background must be kept transparent)
Drag the edited files back into the SystemUI.apk archive (res->drawable-xxhdpi)
Then copy the edited SystemUI.apk back to your phone, then move it to /system, change permissions to rw- r-- r-- then move it to /system/app and overwrite when prompted (your phone will probably reboot, it's normal)
That's it!

Yo guys! Here I come up with a brief tutorial for using Apktool Mobile! Let's begin!
Requirements:
1.A rooted device
2.Apktool 4.4 : https://storage.googleapis.com/goog.../code.google.com/apktool/apktool4.4_armhf.zip
3.A deodexed app of your phone.
How to deodex? Watch my video tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0sfERSqLgA
4.Root explorer and Busybox
5.Brain.apk
6.Patience.jar
How to setup apktool?
1.) Unzip apktool4.4_armhf.zip using root explorer.
2.) Navigate to sdcard0/speedsoftware/extracted/apktool4.4_armhf/apktool folder and install apktool 4.4
3.) Open apktool app, grant root access. Now goto settings and select apktool version 1.5.2. Come back.
4.) Navigate to storage/sdcard0/speedsoftware/apktool4.4armhf folder.
5.) Long press on apktool folder and select Set as apktool data folder.
6.) Navigate to system/framework
7.) Click on framework-res.apk and select import as framework.
8.) In the same folder find twframework-res.apk(for samsung devices) or mediatek-res.apk, click on it->import as framework
9.) Now navigate to system/app, find systemui.apk->click on it and select
10.) Import as framework.
11.) Done.
How to theme SystemUI?
1.) Using root explorer, create a folder named 'A' in apktool folder.
2.) Copy SystemUI.apk to that folder.
3.) Open apktool app, navigate to that A folder, click on SystemUI.apk and select decompile all. Wait till it gets decompiled.
4.) After it gets decompiled, you will get a folder named SystemUI_src
5.) Now minimize apktool, go to root explorer, navigate to SystemUI_src folder, and do any type of modifications you want.
For example, colour the battery icons using Picsay Pro and save with the original name.
6.) After you are done, open apktool app, click on SystemUI_src folder, recompile. Wait till it gets recompiled. Now you will get an app named SystemUI_src.apk. That's your modded apk.
How to Sign SystemUI/Any System app?
1.) Using root explorer, goto A folder, and extract SystemUI.apk and SystemUI_src.apk one by one.
2.) Now navigate to sdcard0/speedsoftware/extracted/SystemUI folder.
3.) Copy Androimanifest.xml and Meta-inf folder from there. Press back and open SystemUI_src folder. Paste those two files there. Click replace when you see the popup.
4.) Come back. Long press on SystemUI_src folder and select zip this folder. Then select goto zip once its finished. Rename the SystemUI_src.zip to SystemUI.apk.
5.) Done. Now you can your push own modified UI to system/app!
Good luck!
Regards,
Aniruddha B.Pathak.

Follow the guide again
Setup apktool again, then follow the guide carefully
Hi! I'm on a rooted kk tablet running ApkTool mobile v5.
Is this version stable and bugfree? or should I install an older one (e.g. v4.4)
An other question, what should I do to have a signed and/or working app after:
Decompiling>>Adding files>> ??
Because when I add files to the apk and try to compile, errors, errors,...errors!!
Older version would work faster

1. I would recommend older version of apktool as it would work faster on your tab.
2. Install busybox if its not already installed.
3. If you are replacing a png, then keep in mind that you must replace those pngs with "SAME NAME" as they were before in the SystemUI.
4. Donot touch .9.pngs if you don't know how to play with them.

Thanks for replying.
I already know how to replace pngs inside an apk,and I know that .9.PNG are not. png. But what I can't do is to successfully compile and sign the app after adding-not just replacing-new files to the existing ones inside_let's say package/res/drawable_apk.
Umm...if you want to ADD pngs, then you need to make some changes in xmls, otherwise it won't recompile

Thanks for sharing it sir but I personally has used all versions of apktool, from 4.1 to 5.0 and I find 4.4 more useful
Still, thanks for sharing the link, again
