Note II is bigger than Note 1

Thanks

I tried my brother's note 2 official case and it didn't fit at all.... Not only the note 2 is a bit larger, the shape isn't quite the same.

Note 2 is a bit larger? Note II is a bit smaller overall, it's just a bit taller but thinner and less wide.
NOTE 1: 146.9 x 83 x 9.7 mm
NOTE 2: 151.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm
There is no way you can fit it, even with mods.

the keys are not in the same place as Note1 anyway so wont work

Note II is bigger than Note 1.....so impossibility will fit in to the case

[Q] Does i717 screen fit N7000?

I never been a fan of Samsung button layout on the international Galaxy models (2 capacitive and 1 hardkey in the middle), so I rather want the 4 capacitive buttons like the USA modell has..
Can I buy a replacement display from i717 and fit that on my N7000? Look like the phones got the same dimensions.
I don't think so, take a look:
N7000:
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-GT-N7000-LCD-Assembly-p/smsng6113250.htm
I717:
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Ga...-Assembly-with-Front-Cover-p/smsng6113800.htm
They're very different, especially in the back. I don't think it would fit - and i'm pretty sure it wouldn't work even if in fact it did fit.

S pen kit for Note 2?

I have a Note 2 on order from Verizon and will be using it mostly for work and meetings. I would like to get a larger pen that I can keep in my shirt pocket. Any word if there is going to be a pen kit similar to the one for the first Note? It also seems that some of Wacom's other products may work with the Note 2, any suggestions on a larger pen that would work? Thanks!
I bought this pen from Samsung. It's the same size as most regular size pens. Works great with the Note 2.

There is a 50% off coupon that's one of the other threads that works with this item too. Not sure if any of the Wacom pens work.

I have the same one as the poster above. At work I use my phone as a note pad all the time. There are two other options but this one has the thinnest barrel size and even has an eraser. On another thread we've found that no Wacom tablet pen works but there are other tablet stylus' that do.
Once again the poster above has it right with the 50% coupon, hell if you have the money buy both. From what I understand the technology didn't really change just the size of the s pens.

The S-pen kit for the Note 1 can be used on the Note 2. I've used it from day one as I find the S-pen uncomfortable to use in its native form.

Did the pen fit well since I thought the dimension for the Note2 Spen was slightly larger? I'm interested in the kit myself.

The Stylus in the pen kit won't fit into the Note 2 . I just wanted a more comfortable pen to use, hence I purchased the pen kit for my Note1 which I also use for my Note2.

Is this really a capacitive stylus for Note 2? (Best Buy)

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung...ones/7278118.p?id=1218838640945&skuId=7278118
So here I am liking the simple fact that my many capacitive styli' can interact with the nav-keys so when I did a random websearch for Spen replacement, that link drew my attention. Is this really a replacement capacitive-type that can fit inside my Note 2 because that would be sweet to have the advantage of the Note 3's stylus without actually getting a Note 3. Does a capacitive replacement for our Note 2 even exist?

That's the stylus that comes with the phone. They don't make a capacitive stylus that fits in the phone, that's what our fingers are for.
Here's the 1 review from Best Buy. Pretty much sums it all up.
This review is for: Samsung - S Pen Capacitive Stylus for Samsung Galaxy Note II Mobile Phones
What's great about it: Exact replacement
What's not so great: Nothing
Long story short I broke my S-Pen and needed a new one. However, no need for an in depth review, but for anybody who may think this is different from the S-Pen that came with the Galaxy Note II, it's not. It's the exact replacement for the Titanium Gray Note II S-Pen. Shipped very fast and glad to have my S-Pen back after a couple of weeks of searching online. To be honest $30 is quite a bit, but if you have any reward zone certificates, use them that way you're not paying 30 bucks for a replacement S-Pen. I looked around on Amazon and it was hard to find one that had positive reviews that said it was an exact replacement.

s pen alternatives

Looking for serious note users. Was wondering the best s pen to use for longer writing sessions. I have tried the one with my note 12.2 pro and the one with my note 8.0 . Looking for some ideas. I thought I saw someone using the tab 3 s pen in a thread but I can't seem to find it. I like the larger style better for sure, for longer writing sessions.
Thanks
Maybe surface pen will work?

Sorry could not resist.
But seriosly the Apple Pencii is really great. I use it at work together with my iPad. It is close to normal writing on paper
From past experience not all wacom pens are fully compatible
The wacom stylus feel for galaxy note is compatible, same size and diameter as a full length pen, very hefty (weight and size), has a mechanical feel to it, ironically i personally never did like how it felt in the hand.
The wacom smart for galaxy note is also compatible, have not tried this one so no personal experience
And finally the s-pen from the galaxy tab S3, which actually is a really nice pen, it's about 3/4 length of a standard pencil, though it's feels a little light in the hand it has a really nice textured finished on the whole barrel (feels like rubber). I personally think it's size and weight is perfect for the note 8.
Been doing some research on this as well. Wacom Styluses using EMR technology will work on our Notes, but not newer technology. This is why only the first and second generation Surface pens work, but not the 3rd generations or newer. The newest Wacom Intuos styluses will also not work.

For the note line of devices Wacom actually uses what they term as "penabled" technology, only penabled compatible devices will work (these tend to be screens that support both capacitive touch and EMR pen). Gen 1 and 2 surface pro were using wacom penabled tech, microsoft brought N-Trig and used that tech for gen 3 onward (it's actually an active pen which requires AAAA batteries to work).
samsung XE700T1A slate 7 line had a full size pen (though some what slim), it was lightweight and had an eraser on the end (note 8 does not seems to recognize the function and acts like a pointer, but have not exhaustively tested against all apps). The Fujitsu lifebooks ive been told supported a pen with 2 buttons, but not had opportunity to test these out. Other notable makers are Asus with it's EEE Slate (full size pen) and lenovo (mini pen, slightly smaller than the galaxy tab S3)
Just a reminder for the OP: when using 3rd party pens, make sure to turn off "Spen detection" in power saving settings. The Note will ignore pen taps when that is enabled and an Spen is in the silo, so you'd think that the new pen is not working.

Oh.... That's what happened. I was wondering why it wouldn't work without the original s pen removed.
Thanks!!

But wouldn't keeping the screen energized for s-pen at all times, use extra battery power? And let me say from the beginning I have no idea if it's substantial amount or not to even worry about.
Yes keeping the screen active will drain some battery, though I don't think by very much as it will still sleep when screen sleeps.
Can also confirm eraser on the Samsung slate 7 pen will work as an eraser if the app can accomodate, sketchbook, Samsung note and artflow will utilise eraser, surprisingly OneNote and Photoshop sketch does not
Got the tab 3 s pen yesterday , what a difference. Feels good and no cramps after lots of writing. I would put up with the Note 8 being a bigger phone if they could fit this full size s pen in it! Today will see how much battery it uses since I set the the phone ro always detect so I don't have to pull the original s pen out.

Ok also got the steadler pencil as well. Works great, a little larger but just like holding and old school pencil. I really like both! Also , after 2 days now, I can tell no difference in battery life leaving the phone set to always detect s pen. I couldn't find a specific item in the battery menu that looked like the wacom screen, but really still awesome battery.

Which one do you prefer nuclearrage? Found no comparison of these 3 together!
- Samsung Galaxy Note 8 s pen
- Samsung Tab S3 s pen
- Steadler digital pencil
I also own a Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and just love it! I use a S Pen Holder Kit so that if feels like a real pen. It has a et-s100ewegstd S Pen, which is the 1st S Pen ever released for the Note 1. I like it a lot, but not as precise as the original S Pen that comes with the note pro 12.2.
Would also the 2 other Samsung s pens work with the 12.2 ?
Thanks!

I don't know what u need the all this writing for but if u use it for school or work then I would use a tablet. I still got my beloved note 10.1 tablet and use it at work for quick notes for my daily report.
I wouldn't use a phone for lots of writing as it's too small to write longer S.A's and I can only imagine the annoyance of doing so.
Maybe keep an eye out if Sammy releases a new note tablet in the future if you find the note 10.1 to outdated.
Not that the above has anything to do with spen alternatives but just my two cents.

3 Note8 SPens have broken between my fingers. Is there a sturdier 3rd party option?

idk if I'm the only person whose had this problem. The Note8's Spen is thinner than previous model SPens, and I broke 3 (2 Samsung brand, one AWinner brand) between my fingers during normal use within the first 4 or 5 months of buying my Note 8.
I gave up after the 3rd one, but miss the pen sometimes.
Does anyone know of a sturdier 3rd party offering?
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
thx
I don't see how you can break your S-Pen as I find the S-Pen on the Note 8 to be quite sturdy.
I think that Spens are sufficiently strong and durable, only tip may ware out (after very intensive use) but those can be replaced...
Replacement S-pens will be cheapest option and the only option to fit in the phone.
There are third party - wacom compatible - pens available, e.g. from Bamboo, that will work with your Note 8 and may be stronger.

Third party substitue
Staedtler Noris Digital
Get this if u r looking for a sturdier option... Of course you won't be able to keep it inside the phone.... But should be the best option available.....

I tend to disagree. I also own a Steadler Norris Digital. I find it quite fragile, mainly due to it's length. While it may not break during active use, I think it is vulnerable during transport/storage. Also the Steadler Norris lacks a button , which prevents use of functionalities in some apps (like activation of air command). It is a very nice replacement stylus though for specific purposes, I agree to that, but for me only for drawing on my larger Samsung Notebook 9 Pro.
Basically all S-pens are compatible between the Note series, and Samsung also has offered alternatives:
The full size pen for the Note 10.1 may be an option:
https://www.google.nl/url?sa=i&sour...ZXj_qC79Xn&ust=1540924536466923&ictx=3&uact=3
Samsung also has a stylus that holds a Note 1 S-pen, which I also own, and is quite sturdy as well:
https://www.google.nl/url?sa=i&sour...ZXj_qC79Xn&ust=1540924536466923&ictx=3&uact=3
Not sure whether the Samsung pens linked above are easy to buy...
Stylus holder seems good
That stylus holder thing looks good... Never heard about it... Let us know the reviews if you get hold of one.

I have that one since long time. I bought it when I owned a Note 2. Works flawlessly with all samsung Notes I have/had (Note 2, Note 4, Note 5, Note 10.1, Note 8, Notebook 9 Pro).
Holds much better than small S-pen from phone. Button is also easier to use. The stylus holder can only accommodate the Note 1 S-Pen - it was included with holder.
Althouth sensitivity of the S-pen has supposedly improved over the note series, when using the holder with enclosed Note 1 S-pen with Note 8 I do not notice the limited pressure sensitivity of that old S-Pen compared to the Note 8's own S-pen.
You may find the holder on ebay or other site...

I don't have pics but they all just broke in half. not much to see
S Pen from Note10+ fits and works, and more S Pen is newer version made from one plastic part instead of two pars on original Note 8, and much harder to break The downside - it's shorter, so to press push button you need to use little finger nail
