Hello guys I'm in a rush so I keep this short and sweet
So I installed latest version of cm10, and tried YouTube app
I only can play the videos when they are in hd..
Any solutions? Cos hd videos kinda lag.
Thanks
Any replies? Ty
Yes... Currently only in hd
Does it also apply to the CM10.1? Can I play the videos normally there? Does embedded videos in the browser (browser YouTube, or Facebook for ex.) work in CM10.1 as well? This is important for me. (well that, and GTA: VC performance, vs. my currently Stock)

is this a bug in cm? or the rom itself?

well not really sure, but i will try cm10.1 soon sure cos the latest cm10 seems to be lagging me down for some reasons =-=
for the embedded videos, i guess u will need the jb flash player to be installed too. its found here on xda. for gta vc, wow , i cant even play that on my gb stock rom cos too laggy XD. how did u do that? and in cm10or 10.1, it will defintely be laggier cos jb takes more ram
Right now, CM10.1 is faster than CM10, so try it now.
About GTA: VC on stock, well, it's laggy, but more in vehicle, than on foot. Also about 30 minutes later it lags very bad and closes itself shortly after. But it's somewhat playable for me. I'll just complete the story and some side missions and get rid of it, and test Real Racing 3.

I'm trying to find out if there is any ROM or kernel that is able to play them. I knew there was a nightly of CM7 that was able to play them fluently but I don't know which one was it.
I also found some people reporting that it could be cause of the flash version but the results seems to vary from one user to another.
android.modaco.com/topic/347652-flash-player-gr4/
After spending all day trying to fix it, I think I got it.
Using Adobe_Flash_Player_v10.3.186.7
Neoblaze kernel 210911b
Stock GB v20L Rooted
I can play 720p videos on YouTube fluently.

Hello all
I have a pretty big problem with my nook.
Im running latest Mirage cm7 Kang build, web browsing at 600-1000 mhz ondemand, and youtube videos (desktop website version) are very very very laggy. Sound is fine, but they show at 1-2 fps.
I've tried flash player 11, and flash player 10.3, 10.3 is a bit better but still very laggy. I even tried changing browser, but the problem persist in dolphin hd and even in dolphin mini. Is it supposed to be like this or is a flash player version specific for nook out there? Also could someone please link me a working HQ youtube apk?
im pretty disappointed by these performance, because my lg optimus one, which is arm v6, plays youtube videos be it on website or app very smootly, and it has a much slower cpu. Please someone help me

sounds like you have a daft nook color I have never overclocked mine and it plays youtube via dolphin browser and the app perfectly.
How can i have a daft nook color? if it turn on and work well for everything, it's something on the software side... by the way antutu is 27xx, seems pretty legit and normal for this device.. I dont think it's some hardware fault

I hope it's only a rom problem do you mind running an antutu benchmark and posting here your scores? Maybe i can see if i score low in video or cpu in respect to yours and find out if it's an hardware problem.. returning it it's not an option for me, i live in italy and i bought it refurbished from ebay, it would take forever and i dont know if im even in warranty..

I'm running the 7/30 CM7.2 MiRaGe build. My NC is overclocked to 1.2GHz using the Interactive governor. YouTube videos play well at non-HQ setting. My Quadrant score on 1st run is 2026. I haven't made any real attempts to optimize performance, as I'm more concerned about battery life.
You could try creating a bootable uSD card using a different firmware version, or a clean version of what you've got installed to see if it's something specific to your configuration. The NC is certainly up to playing YouTube videos with reasonable performance.
Ok, i did some more testing... I ran a quadrant and scored 2152 with conservative... However I noticed that the 3d fps are somewhat low in respect to some other devices with the same or lower specs. I think all nook are like this, everything else is ok.
Then i 've done some more testing with videos and YouTube. Turns out that the choppy performance was because some videos default at 480p. At 360p videos are watchable, even if they lag a little bit (in particular if I don't disable the adds banners). But I found and old YouTube apk in which hq work, and here playback is silk smooth and load times are fast.
So I'm happy to say that my nook seems perfectly fine , thanks to all for the time and for the resolution tip.. I completely forgot about that lol
Is the "old YouTube apk" available to the public???

Hi guys, I got NfsMW working on our HD2's. It's not laggy but the problem is that after about 2 minutes, it just exits. What's the problem? Ram? I think that android turns on it's ****ty apps(for eg. Play store) to "update" them, and then they take too much of ram..
I'd like to see your answers, thanks. Maybe chainfire can solve the problem? Or we should KILL everything with ram manager?
Edit: Forgot to mention, I'm running Aokp jellybean build 3 from xylo on nand.

The new NFS: MW? I highly doubt that works without lag, I've seen the graphics and they're quite heavy for a mobile game. No single core, 404Mb RAM (in Android) phone could run it smoothly. Even Temple Run has a poor framerate. If you mean the old NFS: MW then that runs perfectly for me without lag, and it doesn't close after a while either.

Well, it's not without lag, but it's really playable, I firstly thought that it won't even run. I'll make a short video tommorow if you want. I've found out that I can play it with the ram manager setted to hard gaming.
Yes, it's the new one. HD2 is never going to die.

NFS MW is working on HD2
NFS MW is working on HD2 without any problem! The game is really good. You can watch a short movie from the game, just search on youtube: NFS MW HTC HD2
I play this game on paranoidandroid without overclocking. Only thing you must do is to change build.prop file.
Sorry for my eanglish
I certainly wouldn't say without any problems. The game runs at half the speed it should! Even then, I'm impressed at how smooth it is since it's running on such old hardware.

I'm impressed too. That good game on this phone, it's a miracle
Do you have a problem like me: You're racing and suddenly the game crashes because of GPU, RAM?
If you don't, how did you fixed it? I tried with that ram manager pro setted to hard gaming but I don't think it's due RAM.
When installed chainfire3d, it crashed my phone so I had to reflash my rom(stupid man forgot to backup current).
Hi there, I got a question! Where I can find the right NFS:MW for the HTC HD2? I got the game but when I try to download the files which he need I got the windows where they saing "The Device is not Compatible"

If you have the softbuttons activated, it won't download because of that.
I'll upload apk to dropbox and send you a pm.
And yes, problem was rom, not the game. We have strong enough gpu and enough ram to run it. I'm playing on paranoid 1.5b without problems.

It's bad it doesn't have those "lightning effects" etc. But i think it would be slower with this turned on.

Devs will probably make some patches with light effects that will work on every device that can run the game(eg. like Dead Trigger..).
It plays on the Hd2... But then there is a lot of difference running it on my note 2 and Asus tf300

I managed to run it smoothly without those effects with normally downloaded data for Desire HD. However, after 2 weeks, the effects for POWERVR devices (better textures, lightning effects etc) activated, so it lagged horribly.

Sorry, but it was not clear to me, the games in question (who I quoted above for example) run in cm10.1? The Cm10.1 this better than stock in a matter of heavy games like gangstar, GTA and N.O.V.A 3, or stock and better to run heavy games ?

Yes they can run in CM10.1, as long you are using android you can run it, CM10.1 will be better for games but it is subjective as you may have other apps running in the background which slows down your device

I guess no ROM is "notably better" for any game, there might be some slight effect due to how the ROM manages memory etc... but in the end the hardware remains the same, no matter what ROM you install.
I've had so many ROMs and so many games, but in the end you don't really notice a difference in gaming performance (as long as the ROM itself isn't buggy and laggy, of course).

Hi
I updated to to 4.0.3 from Gingerbread. I was initially very happy as it felt like a brand new phone.
But now I am facing 2 problems:
1. Video files are really really choppy and it goes out of sync and eventually hangs the phone.... I am using BS Video Player app for videos. In Gingerbread I was able to play even HD (720p) movies quite easily but now much smaller videos are not playing properly. I have tried other (including the default one) players also
Have you guys faced similar problem? Is there solution you could suggest?
2. Camera won’t start sometime. Sometimes it starts and then it works fine.
Is there any solution for this?
I can kind of answer your first question, for some reason some video codec supports are dropped when going to ICS+ (I had a 720p recording of a science experiment that played wonderfully on GB, but couldn't even play on ICS and above). So your solution is third-party video players (I personally like DicePlayer, but all work well).
As for the camera, that's probably a bug in the rom you're using.

I am using a 3rd party player (BS Player) only, Earlier it played everything fine. Now it's really choppy and tries SW mode after struggling in hardware mode for sometime, then it hangs.... And with default it's always saying that the video can't be played after few minutes.

Some ROMs/kernels use bigger part of the RAM for the apps, on costs of the video recording. As you didn't provide info about which rom and kernel do you use, it would be best to check the source threads of their developers and read what other people write about it

That should be a Kernel issue... Some Kernels use some of the available for use with apps removing some useability from the camera. You should check if your free Ram is bigger than 370 Mb. Usually most Kernels with bigger free memory has that problem...
Thanks guys for replying

Usually developers add some more free memory for general use, removing some from other parts of the Kernel used for example by the camera.
But if you only installed that Rom, usually the Stock Kernels don't have that problem. But depends on what Kernel that Rom uses... I don't know.

I have a Galaxy S+ (GT-i9001) and I use the K^Kernel that has great performance and awesome battery life. But for i9000 I don't know, sorry...
For i9001 there are 3 versions of this Kernel: 360 Mb; 370 Mb & 390 Mb of free memory.
In the 390 Mb version, 720p Video doesn't work also...
