Yeah..but should i go for the iphone 5s or wait for that..
Answer fairly everyone please
If you need a new phone now, the iPhone is a solid choice (haters gonna hate, sorry Matt) (if you're willing to jailbreak it and don't mind not having a nice community like XDA ). You could wait for the One Max and cross your fingers it has a Snapdragon 800.
I haven't heard a rumor of a new HTC One (HTC Two?), so I doubt it'll be here soon. Maybe in a few months/half a year. But that's just my speculation.
If I were you, I would get a HTC One without thinking twice. Beats 5s' flat-*** any day. BTW I don't see any huge benefits of waiting for the successor. This phone is already a beast. It devours everything that I throw at it.

Yeah i agree, don't wait for the new HTC cause it will take some time to get out, you should get the One now since the prices dropped fairly enough to be a lot more affordable than before.

The site is dedicated to HTC built phones. Any phone seen on here is made by HTC, or has the exact same internal hardware as another HTC phone.
Dream is kind of compatible with the Sapphire, as they are both made by HTC, and almost identical, less a keyboard.
Nexus One is manufactured my HTC, and the Droid is manufactured with Motorola, so they are definitely not compatible.

it was a dumb thing to buy that garbage in the first place ... u guys just eating ur own medicine
never buy a low-mid end phone and expect it to fully function , these are crippled devices and they get no attention from companies after launch ..
Couldn't have put it better myself. I prefer dev phones from google, tbh. But, that's just me.
sounds like most phones released. Bugs caused by carrier overloaded crap and then no support.

Can someone explain why the Desire HD doesnt meet your needs?
Or is it the point of having the desired outer shell and being able to change OS's at your choosing?
...basically the HD2 syndrome...
Probably because they don't have a DesireHD, they have an HD7.

hi, morpheus.. thats an excellent question. i'd love to get the desire. but i read that its hardware is similar to hd2... and the hd2 has call quality problems. but a friend of mine said that the call quality is clear... so i dont know if i should get the desire.
also, i was looking the the htc inspire. i'd like to dual boot wp7 and android on it. i'd like to know if this is possible. but i'm also worried about the batt life on it.

Because the DesireHD isn't on T-Mobile and the HD7 was the biggest screen available? I don't have a HD7 myself but what do you people have against having an option for other operating systems?

Would you settle for a Ford because the garage didn't have a Ferrari? That's the lamest excuse I've heard in a long time...
It's not Close mindedness, it's common sense. You want Android, get an Android phone. You want Dual Boot? Get a device capable of doing it.
Dual booting will become a reality for WP7 devices, it's only a matter of time. But creating Dozen's of threads on it isn't going to speed things up. If anything it'll slow it down.
My prediction is all of these WM6.5/Android threads will become redundant once Mango's released anyway, and people won't want to switch between OS's cos there'll be no point.

It is close mindedness, although I agree with the fact that if you wanted a Android he should have gotten an Android (I did, only reason I come to the HD7 forums is because my dad has one and I play with his). How did devices that are capable of dual booting come to be? It wouldn't have been possible if everyone was in mindset "I don't want that cause I have this".

And replying to every thread with the same canned off topic response is no better, sure he should have searched but being pricks isn't going to make him search in the future, it might just drive a potential future dev away from XDA.

I've been hearing good things about Mango and I think that WP7 will become a real competitor to iOS/Android once it comes out, until then however it is another story.
Who wouldn't want a device that can dualboot. It also preserves the life of the device in a sell/trade aspect.

I've seen exactly the same thing. The 1230 capacity battery on the Desire HD is way too small for a phone with 1ghz processor and the big screen.
The HD7 has the same specs of course, but because WP7 doesn't allow multitasking and background jobs the battery life isn't so much of an issue.

Personal opinion. WP7 is my favorite OS out there. I'll admit it has it's limitations, but for me there is no competition. It does what a smartphone should do better than any other device out there.

I have come to the One from a iPhone 4S and everyone in my house has iPhone 5s. I was tossing up between this and the SG4. But this phone looks and feels amazing. Can't really compare it to other androids because I haven't used any. But the phone is perfect!

Two words my man: Cyanogenmod. Nemesis.
Hopefully HTC gets what's coming to it soon though. My frickin GS2 has 4.1.2!
Anyway, why is this here?
This has been posted before I think. And I'm sure it's not an issue for anyone that has that phone, just install a ROM with the latest android version.
Yea that article is referring to a different phone, it doesn't even look remotely similar to our phone and we'll definitely be getting our 4.2 update
We'll see 4.3 and yeah it's a repost. They need a phone that has upgradable hardware. Just dreamin.

Another thing to mention is that this only applies to the S3 version of the One S, which is a small market. The normal S4 version has been confirmed by HTC to be receiving Sense 5.

What exactly is in 4.2 that makes the One S deserving of it? It has barely any improvements and the majority of the phone ones are aesthetic that sense already has. The major improvements from 4.1 to 4.2 are for tablets (multiuser support). Not sure why everyone thinks just because 4.2 is newer, it has to be better... This isn't 1.6 to 2.3 or 2.3 to 4.0... The only thing I am looking forward to in 4.2 is a new bluetooth stack, but I can wait for 4.3 if need be.
Now 4.1 to 4.3 is significant and if HTC told us we weren't getting 4.2.2 now but later we will get 4.3 I will be incredibly happy (stability fixes, native AVCRP 1.3 profiles (very important for bluetooth car headsets), OpenGL ES 3, New Media Codecs, ect.)

It's not about the number. It's about sending a message.
OK that didn't work.
It's a matter of principle. How can HTC abandon a year old device? It was their second most high end device when released. How would you feel if you got stuck at 4.2? The One S got bumped up from 4.0 to 4.1. Sense 5 is way better than 4, IMHO, although I only used the latter for about a week.
Surely the OS on the 1S isn't perfectly optimized yet? If it is, and the battery life/responsiveness is as good as it is going to get, the fine. No need of 4.2 update.
