Support for Tesco mobile - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, does anyone know if I flash a custom rom, or a specific rom, will it support Tesco mobile? I have rooted the phone, and it is factory unlocked, but for some reason, the phone will not register on Tesco Mobile. It wouldn't before I rooted it either. Options for Vodafone, Orange, 3, O2, appear, but that's it. Giff Gaff even worked. Any ideas please would be very helpful.

Have you tried to manually enter them in and save it, they normally come through if you restore to default.

Can you explain what you mean by manually entering, and how I do this please?

I've got the settings sorted, however still shows no mobile network when I try dialing a number. I've even got four signal bars so don't understand what's wrong!

Check if IMEI is correct. Use #*06* on the dial pad and see if it matches the phones original IMEI

Credo mobile custom Roms?

Does anyone know if I can use sprint custom Roms on a CREDO HTC One? They run on the Sprint network, but have their own weird activation process. I assume since I'm already activated the phone will continue to work just like when I flashed phones previously on Verizon.
Anyone have experience with this?

Yes you can. I have viper running on mine under CREDO Mobile.
Sweet, thank you. I assume the flashing process is the same, nothing weird I have to do?

It's all the same. Just be certain its for the sprint variant and not verizon/etc.
Excellent.

I'd also like to note that I was able to install and use cyanogenmod snapshot M9 and slimrom 4.4 roms but I had to tweak the APN networks such that they were n.w1.ispn instead of n.ispn. After doing that, everything was peachy.
ViperOne auto-detects this and it isn't an issue.

Unable to update Profile & PRL

I'm on stock rooted with Captains TWRP. I'm also S-Off. I didn't try to update PRL/PROFILE before I rooted so I don't know if that's related. My wife's Note 2 has no problem updating her profile and prl so it's not network or location related.

Someone must have a clue or be experiencing the same thing?

Just got off the phone with Sprint . They had me do a few nonesense dialer codes but it didn't work. They are advising me that I should try another location and if that doesn't work I have to take it to a Sprint store. Really don't want to have to do that.
Hope someone knows a trick.

Probably related to the issues many M8 users (and myself) have been having with Spark/LTE. If you switch to CDMA only, make sure domestic data is unchecked, and reset the phone, are you still unable to?
Try a ##72786# or ##786# reset and a hands free activation. Then try to update them again.

Wi-Fi won't stop turning on after root. Any ideas?

I updated to the first ota of kitkat when it went live and really didn't like it, so I downgraded to the first firmware, then accepted ota til I was back to 3.05.651.6, and now my Wi-Fi won't stay turned off no matter what settings I have chosen, and it won't respond to BatteryGuru like it used to before the whole mess.
Anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing it or how to fix it?

Any ideas at all? It's the only thing messing with me now. Everything else seems good at the moment.
