So I've been having a lot of issues with my Galaxy S for a long time. Freezes, W-Lan constantly dropping, bootloops, etc. and today I started trying to fix it by flashing roms. Some worked better than others. For instance, the stock ROM left me with the same w-lan issue.
I might've made some mistakes so after several tries I went with EZOdin since, apparently, that's a very clean slate to go from.
Now... after the EZOdin flash and no further steps, the W-Lan issue actually seems to be resolved but now (on EZOdin and on later reflash of stock ROM) I ran into a new, even worse, issue: My SD card doesn't mount, so now I cannot use USB Mass storage, cannot take pictures, cannot download other ROMS via ROM Manager if I wanted to, nothing.
And I've been googling this issue for a while, trying several supposed solutions, all with no luck. I don't know what I can do...
Any suggestions?

I just flashed a Kernel with CWM. Mounting /sdcard in recovery doesn't seem to do anything. I must've done something horribly wrong in my earlier tries to fix my other issues. I mean I never had any problems with USB storage or the internet SD or the external one or anything.

So, you need a good ROM without problems?
Go to JW9 via Odin -> CF-Root 4.4 -> CyanogenMod 10.2 -> Latest Paranoid Android (optional)

I tried the "i9000 Rescue EzBase Rescue and Recovery by nitr8 Full Graphical HOW To and Tutorial download" from that thread using the guide, didn't help. When I go into recovery it says /sdcard is mounted but the problem remains. Same when I unmount it and try to mount from within the settings.
I must've done something terribly wrong at some point, huh?
It's mentioned everywhere that not turning off lag fixes before using Odin can cause problems like this. Now I don't THINK I ever even had any turned on but by now I'm not too sure about that anymore. I think these issues started happening a few flashes after I knew about that and double checked (and there weren't any lagfixes enabled then) but at this point I am really not too sure anymore so let's say that is the cause of this issue; how screwed would I be?

It was so successful. But I still find my old files in the file manager!!! Super weired
That I flashed again to make sure I WIPING everything.
The old files still appear(taking space) in the file manager.
I want a clean phone and manually restore some photos and videos.
I want to use the play store to install apps.

First you should indicate your phone model is i9001, such that you will not be misdirected
second, you must Flash the GAPPS File after you flash the ROM, so that google applications ( play store, youtube, gmail etc) will be added to your system, you cannot install otherwise ( read the thread where yo u downloaded the ROM from.
Third, if you want a clean install, you need to format your SD card first, such that all old files will be gone, you can use settings, storage, unmount and format. if not your images, video, music will remain in it.

I did flash the GAPPS after flashing the ROM.

yes I know, you got the correct ROM, I am trying to tell you that this forum, is used for many models of Galaxy S, so if you failed to post in the 19001 thread, (just above) some members may think, you are referring to i9000.
Yes, I am referring to your Internal SD card ( internal storage) , all i9001 comes with one. not the Internal phone memory. Just flash it again, once you have formatted your internal SD card and than copy the files again to use CWM recovery and flash again.

I flashed another one which is newer([ROM][PMEM][JB][4.3][JLS36C] CyanogenMod 10.2 by ADC Team - Alpha 2 - Kernel 3.4.x)
It works PERFECTLY! I have play store now.
But the old files still appear after flashing...lol weired
I will delete them manually.
Thank you so much!!

most likely you have wrong CWM, look here about it .
i9000 has many versions, so you need to specify which version you have since you used a 2.3.5 ROM, look here for basic guide and here for a rescue kit or the link above for solutions.

So i need just a file to put on SDCard, then from BIOS just install it Is it possible?

Hi all, I know this has been done and dusted but I am having problems with connecting to kies after rooting. I am running standard jelly bean 4.1.2 and is an Australian GT-I9100. I installed the siyah kernal root system and now all I get on kies is "connecting" Windows 7 recognises and I can access the phone via explorer on the PC. The phone after a while comes up with a message that there is no compatible software on the PC, install kies...
I have tried all the so called fixes including formatting the internal SD and memory. The only thing I did before it stopped connecting was the root and running Triangle away (paid version). I have enabled / disabled USB debugging. The only things I haven't tried is a factory reset which I don't really want to do as I am always sceptical that the backup apps will work after to restore everything.
Any help appreciated
Regards Ismael...

Are you only having problems connecting to KIES or your phone cannot connect to PC in USB storage mode too? Basically most solutions for connection problems are mentioned here
BTW, i9100 has its own forum, this is meant for i9000, still the above link would solve your problem.

You mentioned its an Australian i9100, is is a branded version ( under contract with any telecom company) as some branded models will only work with KIES MINI and not KIES. Was KIES working before the upgrade ? Normally, when it does not connect , there will be NO message on the phone, so this is quite puzzling indeed.
Additionally KIES will not connect if your phone is not using its stock ROM but the message you seem to get on the phone is odd

well in that case, the easiest way to resolve this, would be to either use your backup if you have any ( always best to backup your working ROM before flashing anything) or flash the Stock ROM for your unit. using Odin3 ( you might lose your data here, so best to copy your entire SD card to your PC, using USB storage mode) or as you mentioned factory reset ( again you can save your data to PC before doing it)
Alternatively you can post this problem in the i9100 forum here to see if any experienced it when flashing that ROM

PHONE: samsung galaxy s 1
STORY
Hello everybody... so here is the deal, i know this might not be a BRICKED case or anything buuut yeah :
So today my phone ( on which i have installed CyanogenMod 10 ) was workin as usual, nothing new (and so on).. I went in to my car to drive to the mall, left my phone in there and when i came back it was shut down... so i thought "hmm alright, battery must be empty" . When i arrived home and turned it on the phone was stuck on BOOT LOOP.
No worries, right? Just wipe out the data/cache... alright, i tried doing that but i was unable to get in to recovery mode ( and yes, i did try all the combos out there) On the other hand i was able to enter in Downloading Mode( cool, right? ) Odin recognized the phone, sweet.
What now, i asked myself, so i went and searched a little, and i found "PH-D710.ODIN_WIPE_CACHE_DATA.exe"
(i have the url but i cant post it due to post cap req)
I ran it, and Odin got stuck at "Setup Connection", waited 3/5 minutes then i closed it, uninstalled samsung kies, and tried again.. invane.
So i tried booting recovery mode again, but this time when the phone turned up there was this black screen with a "phone wiered to a PC" icon... ( btw ) Download mode still available.
Yeah, here is the problem now... I did the CyanogenMod 10 Install last year ( around this time ) so i dont happen to remember alot.. all i know is that i have a rooted phone, and it was running CM10 perfectly up until something happened (?)
Yea, does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I am willing to Reset to the default Samsung galaxy S mode ( v. 2.3.1.. probably wrong haha ) and then install CM 10 afterwards
TO SUM IT ALL UP:
I have CM10, today it went in Boot loop
I tried entering recovery mode to wipe data/cache <- wouldnt let me enter( i can enter downloading mode )
^ thats why i installed "PH-D710.ODIN_WIPE_CACHE_DATA.exe" and tried to do it with ODIN
This lead to a black screen with a "phone wiered to a PC" type of icon
++ Forgot to mention that last time the phone worked Debug was off (or at least thats what i think, since it was reset-long story- and i didnt modify it since)
And thats pretty much it, Sorry if it was too long :/
Some help would be apriciated ( and i did look around.. a lot, but as i said, i installed CM 10 last year so i forgot some of the details, but feel free to ask and help, i wont stop you lol )
