Im using the phone in the US and its telling me to update to privilege v3.0 but play store says its not available in my country. Do you know where I might be able to find the apk for 3.0?
I was able to install 3.0 on my Xperia in the us (search for the apk) but I did not get any codes and the pamphlet that came with the phone did not have any codes on it.

Scotland.
Not sure if it's country specific though. During the announcement speech at IFA, they intimated the content would come with all handsets.

EDIT: I managed to get it installed but the app goes by the country of origin of the SIM card so no way around it (( BUT I did take out the sim and connect only with wifi and changed country to the UK and a free download for some mmorpg game showed up but nothing else, no other freebies
I also ordered mine from handtec, went into priviledge and had no codes.
I uninstalled priviledge and reinstalled from play store and then they appeared
[/COLOR]So messing with it some, if we could trick the phone into thinking its in the UK then it would work. I tried uninstalling it and re-installed, on the install it selects the country for you and only asks for the language. If you hit back it goes back to the country selection and the selection is blank. Just need a way around that but it looks like the promo is for the UK as of now.

I would like to get my unlock code as soon as possible when my Xperia Z comes in the mail, I did purchase the device out right on ebay, however, when I went to search for getting the unlock code, they say it can take up to 8 business days, I do not have a contract with T-mobile and I will be using it under Metro Pcs's new BYOD program, I've got no problem paying some to do it, but I would need it as quickly as possible once device is in hand, would anyone be able to assist me?
Thanks for your help and any apologies for the long winded question
I would say just find someone reputable on eBay with good feedback and buy unlock code I have experience with t-mobile and nothing's easy thru them plus when I got phones unlocked they made me have a certain amount of time using it before they will unlock it even paid in full my advice just skip them

Ebay buy one all u need to do is give ur IMEI then they sent u shortly ofter that ur unlock code I did that with every phone I had in the USA was relatively easy oh yeah u need a sim from a different provider so the simlock unlock code promt will show. Update!!! It works! I had to call the main number 888-863-8768 and ask for help activating a second time and this guy was smart. He needed to manually add the IMEI number to their database and immediately the phone connected. Speeds are the same as T-Mobile.
I found this hack in LG G2 forum at XDA, so the credit goes to whoever found this, not to me.
1. Download SQLite Editor (I have the paid version)
2. Open the file - /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
3. There's a field named 'tether_entitlement_check_state'. in System. Original value is set to 5. Changed it to 0 and save
4. Reboot the phone
5. Enjoy tethering using AT&T app, not necessary to install any other app.
Edit: USB tethering works great too.
Where's the att app at?

I don't know if this hack works for other versions, anyway I'm using the app that came pre-installed, it is part of AT&T bloatware.

Dont' worry.
I got this to work through the settings using this method, no need on using it through Mobile Hotspot app.
And I believe this method needs to be moved to the Theme and APPs section

I've had the Z for about a month now, even with 4.3 it's still worth it. That said, I pray the camera software is better than the 4.3. I can say that I be pretty ticked off we don't have access to kit kat via OTA stock os. I like phones that are plug and play, plus I'm not voiding a warranty on a 600$ phone just to get an OS that I should technically be allowed to run being an Xperia user an all...

Hello XDA,
I know I am not usually on but now is a chance for me to actually get some posts in lol..
So I bought this Note 3 on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean from Craigslist (I know, bad idea) and it turns out that it was blacklisted by AT&T.
My question is: Can I unlock (buy an unlock from cellunlocker.net) and USE the Note 3 on a different carrier? (T-Mobile).
I just don't want to waste the $30 on an unlock for it to be useless...
Thank you all!

if it's blacklisted by AT&T, you're probably out of luck with other carries in the US as well. so unlocking it won't help. i have seen a lot of listings on eBay with bad ESNs saying they can only be used abroad.
If you can get it unlocked, you can use it on T-Mobile and other GSM carriers.
It is flagged on AT&T's network

Yes at&t and t mobile share blacklisted imei's. How often they update their databases is an unknown. The device will have to be used in another county if you can't get it working here. I think xda frowns upon further discussion on imei's.

First, was the item listed as blacklisted when purchasing? If so your screwed. If not, try for your money back. It's worth a shot, but not likely since its blacklisted.

It's probably either a scam that MAY work for some devices with similar exploits or actually works similarly to the way OEM's would flash a device. Not sure about everyone else, but I'm definitely leaning more towards the first option seeing as no one has root yet...
Definitely bs!!! If root had been achieved for our device you would read about it on every forum and every tech website example being android authority and def xda!!

I think it does not work that way. We must have the box or dongle to run the software, you may have a payment system for unlocking attempts.
Is a slot machine to unlock.
I do not like dongles.
Who knows it may work? But the device itself costs $115-$135. So who's going to be the guinea pig?

Seems a little risky though, it says "Root by flash" whereas that could mean what I believe was done on an older version of the S4's firmware, where a temporary recovery was flashed in order to root. For the S5 and newer S4 firmware on AT&T and VZN, this would be impossible with the lockdown.
The software will only work with the dongle. It's not flashable to the phone itself.
