[Q] Forgot secure box password! please help! - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
when i first purchased the HTC One and was exploring everything, i made the mistake of setting up a password for the secure box and didn't really take note of it until i moved a few messages over there. And when i tried to access them, i... don't remember the code. I've been racking my brain for days of possible codes, but it always denies it. So after a week or so i rooted my phone and in the process reset the phone. But when i tried to see the messages, the code was still on. I have no idea what to do, can anyone pleeeeease help me. I can provide proof of purchase or anything else, i just need to see my messages. If there is a way to bypass this please tell me.
Thank you.

Impossible bro it's blowfish encrypted. The app might just be a simple messaging program but it's encryption is one of the hardest and uncrackable so far. It could have been possible if it's only storing the messages on a database but nope it's stored in a seperate encrypted file.

HELP!

My cousin has the g1 and his phone has been hacked they changed the password to his phone and they are emailing pictures to people in his phone what to do???????????
I believe it's not his phone. but his e-mail has been hacked (if the whole story is true).
Try to change e-mail password online, if not - forget about that e-mail, register a new one and factory reset the phone, would be my suggestion.
Sounds like "your cousin" shouldn't be allowed to use technology until they learn to keep their information more secure.
PS: Wrong forum.

[Q] Stolen Samsung Galaxy

Hey guys,
i have got a little problem:
my Galaxy S was stolen this weekend and because i'm kind of naive i didn't configurated any anti-theft software, neither nor uTrack. Well is there any possibility to track it by using the IMEI No? (it's already not accessible via my phone number)
I already complained to the police. But because i hope that here is some crack who has a idea what else i can do
I'm looking forward to read some hints !
Thanks in advance!
I'm not sure if this would work...
but if someone does take it online, the new number should get registered against your google account (provided it is saved and turned on by default)...
so you might be able to get their new phone number and ask the police to locate them with help of the network operator?
if it should be so easy, where can i fand that option? (i'm honestly not used to the google webinterface)
Try google dashboard: https://www.google.com/dashboard/?hl=en&pli=1
Also go on the market interface on web, in the settings you can see the last time your account was accessed and the carrier used
also you should be able to report the imei to your carrier which can put it on a blacklist to be blocked so it would be useless as aphone.
if u blacklist it however you wont ever be able to track it.
im not sure where u live, but if u discuss the situation with the police, carrier and google they should be able to triangulate and find the location of the phone.
also, if there was a remote wipe facility u could have saved your private data.

and i'll highlight the importance of that again
if it's stolen, it is stolen, it's gone, you wont be able to recover it unless you had installed some of those protective apps in the past.
if you do get lucky enough to find your phone
your carrier will be more than happy to remove it from the black list
so do it now!

[Q] Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo help

I know nothing about any of this so bare with me guys/gals please. Just need help once and ill remove my account. If any of you feel like im wasting your time then please tell me and ill remove my post. Thankyou and i hope someone will give me an idea of whats going on.
Friends ex girlfriend is remotely accessing his phone from her computer, she can lock him out and write text out of format on the lock screen. She has deleted everything on his phone 8 times in the past hour. The Verizon recovery app has been disabled, we went into the Verizon store and changed EVERYTHING, number, passwords, made sure if she ever called in wanting info she couldn't get it. There is no way she figured out any of the passwords, she doesn't have access to any of his accounts, gmails facebook etc... i thought for sure she was using the recovery app but that's impossible cause no account has been created to access to his phone. Idk guys like i said im not an expert one thing that has me most skeptical she can write whatever she wants, whatever color, on his phone on any spot on the screen. Its completely out of set text formations on the lock screen looks like doodles i guess. Just curious if you guys have have ever heard of anything like this happening before. Thanks and i apologize if this shouldn't be here just on a desperate attempt to figure this out. Verizon is completely stumped they have no idea how she does it, even the main tech guy at the store (idk his credentials) cant figure it out.
From what I've seen so far, Android Device Manager (part of Google's setup) can do remote wipes. as can Motorola ID. I imagine both of these may "automatically setup" when you re-activate the phone. Beyond that, you'd need an app to perform such changes, I'd think.
Also, if he's on a joint-account with his exGF, and if she has access to the account, VZ may be doing this without the store-people knowing it?

If it's Android Device Manager, maybe it would be sufficient to just change the Google login password?
Yeah, he changed his Google password right?

[Q] grievingDad needs HELP!

My son ODed on 11.17.14. I have been looking over his phone for some time. In a moment of utter stupidity I deleted all SMS messages. Links from me, his mother, his sibling and his friends. I have been looking online for ways to recover msgs. Dr. fone appears to be one of the best but does not work on his phone. It appears it would work if the phone was rooted. I have downloaded and installed towelroot. The app says the phone is not supported. I have found and used the three Mod string modifiers. the app still says the phone is not supported. I even went to the ATT device support center and they said they could not help. Please anyone, help me recover my son's messages. Its the last words I will ever have from him.
Thank you.

If anyone is in town, New Orleans, or vicinity, I will come to you for help.
I am desperate to recover these msgs.
thank you.
Download AT&T messages if it is not already installed. After you log in it will start downloading all of the logs, sms, calls, etc.
@grievingDad,
I truly do not intend to be callous in this situation, but I will make a few points here and some may be helpful.
1) I don't know who you are, and since I do not know you, I cannot be certain of your motives for even trying to retrieve deleted messages. If you have truly lost someone and your motives are as simple as they appear in your firt message, my heart goes out to you and I wish you all the best in trying to retrieve your son's messages. I only say this because I would not even attempt to retrieve deleted messages for someone if they were doing it for spiteful or illegal reasons (Example: Jealous lover, disgruntled employee, etc.). There are probably more illegitimate reasons to retrieve another person's messages than legitmate ones. I am guessing that is why you will have a difficult time finding someone to help you with this directly. I am not an attorney, but even helping you to retrieve deleted messages sounds like a slippery slope.
2) You may be able to get an attorney to petition AT&T for a record of the messages. I believe that they have to keep them for a certain period of time for legal reasons. I'm not sure how accessible the messages will be. I remember trying to get a copy of one of my own messages (many years ago), and I wasn't able to get it from them. I know that messages are subpoenaed in court, but you might have to involve a judge to get them.
3) If your son used Hangouts for messaging (not the stock messaging app), you may be able to get the messages through his Google account. You might be able to ask Google for his password. I suspect that it would invole contacting Google and send them an official copy of the death certificate. I doubt that it would be easy.
4) It is possible that you could something wrong and brick the phone. In other words, you would never get anything off of it.
5) Consider the possibility that the messages may really be gone forever. Some things in the digital world offer the ability of recovering from "Oops!", but some things are meant to be deleted permanently. I am not trying to be a pessimist. All I am trying to do is counter the notion that everything is hackable and data is never really lost.
I don't think your being callous, just pointing out things i didn't consider.
1) It never occurred to me that that the post would be interpreted as nefarious. I know using names instead of handles is not very common, but if you wish you can look up his obit in the Baton Rouge Advocate. His name is William McCardle. My name is Douglas. I can be found at the number listed above in the same city. I'm not an attorney either, but I don't believe providing information on rooting a phone would lead to any type of prosecution. The service for all four numbers on the family plan are in my name.
2) I took the phone to the ATT device service center. I assumed if it was possible to retrieve msm from their servers they would have advised me there. But maybe not. I will contact ATT directly and/or consult with the family atty.
3) Hangouts is on the phone, but doesn't appear to have any msgs. Nothing is in Archives. The msms icon was one of the four permanent icons at the bottom, so I assume it is the stock messaging app.
4) I have copied/backup the device to Kies 3 and copied all photos to my computer. Even if the phone is bricked, it is worth the risk to get the msms back.
5) Its good you pointed out that not all data is recoverable. I was aware that even an App was able to retrieve msms, that some may be corrupted or overwritten due to reuse of the memory space.
6) Lastly, my motives are just that simple.
Thank you for the reply. Any further input would be greatly appreciated.
The App AT&T messages will recover just about every message sent and received from the line.
I don't recall if it recovers MMS messages.
It should be on the phone already. If not you may be able to download in he play store.
I used it once when I was going to be out of a service area. Connected to WiFi and used the app. While using the app it seemed to download every message ever sent and received. Took forever and I could not stop it.
Success
Thanks to those who replied. Installed the att msgs app and all the texts have been downloaded.
Just wish I had followed the advise on the 3rd when it was first suggested.

I kept meaning to go back and check this thread earlier to see how you made out. I am glad to hear that you were able to recover the messages. All the best.

I got a problem because of suck windows phone 8 app (Line).

Hi, everyone,
This is my first post, I got a situation I think I need to do capability unlock to solve it, because I want my data back!
My phone is Lumia 920, I saw this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...ve-interop-t3135326/post62301716#post62301716
This is amazing, and you guys on this community are awesome! I just want to post a reply to the authors, their work is great, although I need to wait for them to publish this tool for Lumia 920.
But I am a new member here, so I need to post at least 10 posts to leave a message on developer's forum.
The whole story is, I am using an app named Line (a messenger app just like What's app). In Taiwan, almost all people use it to send messages.
I also have a lot of messages sent via this app between me and my girlfriend and best friends. Unfortunately, this app on Windows Phone is terrible.
After one day, this app can not open anymore, because it will crash when it want to sync messages.
This is fine, because I can use computer version to talk with others.
But one day, Line forces me to valid a Pin Code on my computer, this requires me to open Line on my Lumia 920 to input that code to login to the computer.
This suck app even doesn't allow me to install on another device, or my Lumia 920's original account will be disabled.
The only way to solve seems to uninstall Line, then reinstall it. I can't do this because all my sent messages are very very important to me I don't want to delete it.
Line don't have backup function on Windows Phone, so I can't do this before, there is no way to get back my messages except my phone app data.
So this is why I need a way to let me access to app data on my phone, I am a developer also, I am not sure I can get back my messages but I can try it (on Android, Line's message looks like stored on a sqlite3 file).
The first thing I need to do is get these app data then I can try to get back my messages from it.
Anyone have other ideas to help me to solve this? Thank you a lot.
PS. I am tried to use Line's python library but I need to enter Pin Code also, and I am not sure Line stored my messages on cloud.
The other way I am trying is to get Windows Phone backup data from my onedrive, but it seems not possible.
Or I should try to hack my Line application on my computer to skip Pin Code validation? It might be a lot of work and still not feasible.
I found the desktop version's sqlite on AppData\Local\Line, unfortunately there is no full message history, only messages since April (the most valuable messages I want are on last year), and all the messages are encrypted. For the message 12345, is encrypted to:
CfxjtmuAXScEBn/Virf+6A==
If I decode it with base64 I still can't get back my message, I think it is encrypted by AES or something but I don't know where is the key.
On my another computer, the message 12345 is encrypted to:
iBIkUWFOfTBkBOg2YffCtA==
