T-Mobile Moto X can't unlock bootloader - Moto X Q&A

Running the latest Mac OS X, installed the drivers but when I try to unlock I get this.
User-MacBook-Pro: platform-tools User$ ./fastboot oem get_unlocked_data
...
(bootloader) Restricted oem command
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.065s
User-MacBook-Pro: platform-tools User$
Any ideas?
Thanks

[Q] Relocking Holiday Version of Nexus One

I have a Holiday Version of Nexus One with S-OFF and I unlocked it but was not able to relock it. I installed latest SDK and restarted the phone in "fastboot” mode and ran the following command from the computer:
fastboot oem unlock
It unlocked fine after I accepted unlock declaimer.
I then installed Amon RA 2.1.1 and then rebooted the phone and then I ran command from computer:
adb reboot bootloader
After the phone came up in bootloader I ran the following command from the computer:
fastboot oem lock
I got this reply “... INFOLock failed!”
I will appreciate any ones help who was successfully able to relock the holiday version on Nexus One.

You need to type: fastboot oem lock
But why do you want to re-lock it??
Thanks for reply.
Apologies for the typo in my original post which I will correct that too but I am using the correct command:
fastboot oem lock
And I get the following reply “... INFOLock failed!”
I just want to remove the unlock icon.

That's really weird, I've always wanted to know how to do that but I don't have S-OFF. Maybe you need to be on stock to lock the bootloader?
Weird, mine locks back up fine with fastboot oem lock, but it's not a holiday one.

have a look into this batch file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44430691&postcount=4
This is relock for Razr i, so DONT use it directly on your phone!
Look into the relock.bat file for ADB commands to relock...

Kindle Fire 5th gen: fastboot boot boot.img returns 'remote: unknown command'

I have a Kindle Fire 5th Gen (Fire OS 5.1.1 installed december 9th 2015). When I go into bootloader mode it says fastboot mode, but when I issue the command 'fastboot boot boot.img' this does not work. Does anyone know how to solve this? I used the same method on another Fire (same version) some weeks ago, and there I could boot into TWRP using the same method.
adb reboot bootloader

Once the device is running a custom rom (mine is on Fire Nexus) and if the device was originally on 5.3.1 then can this method be used to boot into twrp recovery?

Nope - bootloader must be 5.0.x to permit twrp (or any custom recovery) to be booted. Bootloader can not be downgraded. You're stuck with Fastboot, mate.
so you can't use fastboot to chainload twrp on a 1time basis ? making the protected device bootloader irrelevant
i thought thats what ""fastboot boot boot.img "" was doing - chainloading

No. If possible it would have been offered. Bootloader is locked; Amazon crippled fastboot; boot command no longer recognized on v5.1+.
Ok i get it, hence the reason for the FAILED message from OP below:
