[Q] Htc One Rooted Google Edition- SIM Unlock - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey There
So I have a ATT version of the HTC One in black. I have rooted it and installed the factory fresh GOOGLE EDITION restore so I can get the OTA updates. It works flawlessy.
I want to SIM unlock my phone so I can bring it over to TMOBILE. I actually successfully got ATT to give me the code, but it doesn't work. Then I read somewhere that it won't work on rooted devices.
Is there by chance a workaround to get the SIM unlocked? I am very afraid I am coming close to Hard Locking the device with too many entries.
Thank you!
James

[Q] Install 4.2.2 On Sim Unlocked Handset

Hi Everyone,
Got my HTC one from 3 yesterday.
I have paid for a sim unlock code, which worked (tried a Virgin sim in and it worked) So was wondering how to install a .exe or get the update on the phone now.
My CID says H3G_001 still, but as I say the sim unlock has worked.
So basically is there a way of installing the 4.2.2 update without changing the CID or turning the S-Off?
Thanks in advance.

No, all a sim-unlock does is allow you to use the phone with any carrier, however you are still locked down to the original carrier that the phone shipped with in regards to updates.

[Q] Help! After using Cyanogenmod Installer it's asking for SIM Network unlock code

In an attempt to use my locked AT&T HTC One phone on my T-mobile service I used the Cyanogenmod Installer to root my HTC one and hope to use it on the T-mobile network; I also unlocked the bootloader via HTC website. The newest Cyanogenmod is installed (11-20140417-NIGHTLY-m7) and wifi is working, etc. Unfortunately, no phone calls since it keeps asking for SIM Network unlock code (I bought an unlock code...not working). Any suggestions? What should I do? I did some research and I read something about using an RUU...is this a good solution? Thank you all!
Status of phone on bootloader screen is:
S-ON "TAMPERED"

No, bootloader unlock and sim unlock are different things. You'll need to be on the stock rom to input your sim unlock code.

And that's what worked. Thanks!
Hello,
I (still) have the same problem here. I have a DHD that was locked and branded. I followed HTCDev's procedure to unlock the bootloader and installed a Cyanogenmod ROM (unofficial 10.1) two weeks ago that works great. I've been trying to get my phone unlocked for days with no luck ever since.
I've tried using the HTC unlock tool v. 0.9.5/4 and rooting the phone too. Nothing. Drivers are working fine; program executes as expected, but I still have a locked phone after it finishes. I got an unlock code that I enter after booting and I get a "successful network unlock" message, but the radio seems to remain off. I cannot place calls. Attempting to choose a network operator manually from the settings menu fails; I get a "mobile network unavailable" message when doing so (service providers list does not even appear). I've read threads saying that the only way to get around this is by reverting the phone to its original ROM and HBoot, but I've read elsewhere that workarounds on branded phones shipped with Gingerbread or Froyo (like mine used to run) fail and/or screw up the phone, so I have not tried that. Any ideas or pointers?
Thanks!

I haven't applied any hack yet. I bought it used "unlocked". It has an AT&T logo on the back so it was locked to AT&T before. Now if i perform an OTA update.. will it get sim locked again. I do not mean or care for root. Just my sim should work. I hope i have explained well.

Once it is carrier unlocked, it will always be that way.

Sir to make this clear for you let me guide you through what sim unlock is: A Sim Unlock is performed over Cellular networks.. It does not have any I repeat ANY concern with the software of your mobile phone. When you unlock your sim through an unlock code the IMEI of your phone gets registered over Cellular networks so in easy words The unlock happens in air not on your phone. So whatever you do with your phone you will never ever be sim locked again because the IMEI of your phone has been registered permanently on the network when you unlocked the sim before. So feel free to do any kind of thing on your phone dont hesitate .

M7 unlock

Hi all, I'm giving away my old m7 to a friend and when we put the sim card in, it reports it is network locked. I have purchased a code from unlock river, but it's saying it's wrong. I just wanted to check if anyone has had this problem when unlocking a modded phone? The phone is running viper one 9, s-off, unlocked bootloader etc. It did have super cid but I reverted that back to t mobile UK to see of that made a difference but it didn't. The new sim is gsm like the old one. It could still be the code, but I wonder if the mods aren't helping.
Thanks in advance!

HTC One M8 sprint edition marshmallow locked sim

Hi,
So I run into that problem eventually.
I am not from the states and I bought the phone unlocked from a friend.
After some months of use the Not a valid sim card popped up.
I contacted HTC support and they didn't know how to fix this.
I am thinking of removing the sprint rom completely and installing the Unlocked/Developer one.
I am not a pro with these stuff so I would like to ask if that would be possible and if I could do something else instead.
The phone runs with 6.20.651.3 marshmallow.
Thanks in advance.
Is your phone s-off ?? U cant unlock the phone just by flashing the unlocked developer version . Try the sim unlocked methods posted in sprint htc m8 general fourms
