Yea it does. I've tried pretty much everything (acid audio, king beats, beats louder) and in my opinion, the combo in pimp my ROM is the best. I do the bravia engine2, pimp my beats, and xloud clear audio
I've been using Awesome Beats by ...Awesome... setup is tricky at first but the customization is amazing. Using BT with Jbl On Tour and beats ear buds. Pandora, Walkman, Google Music, SiriusXM all sound amazing. Just gotta pay $4 and you get updates as he rolls then out.

I beg to differ, I know for a fact the x-loud mod modifies audio lib files for louder and better sounding music and notifications, it also has various other modifications to unleash the quality of music while impacting battery life ever so slightly.

Agreed.. You can add all the new libraries etc all you want because in the end what really matters is the DAC and if the DAC sucks, so will your audio quality and the Tegra DAC is awful.. But what do you want for a $250 tablet. ?
For my car I use my Nexus 7 and use my headunits EQ for dealing with the bad tegra DAC
For a walkman I use my Nexus S because it has a wolfson DAC and it's absolutely incredible and no EQ needed as it actually makes it worse
For home audio (when not playing through my PC) I use my Nexus 10 which also has a wolfson DAC and is incredible and no EQ needed as it actually makes it worse.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2059185 here is the best audio mod for the N7 this dude has done some amazing stuff with the audio
Two tablets...the same stuff....why?

AwesomeBEATS has 3 dynamic compression settings, 3 levels of beats boost and room size adjustments along with beats eq settings, and they are all fully functional. His install also includes his v5 install that allows all system sounds to be tweaked to your liking. No, not just equalizers.

That looks similar to dsp manager from cm, a little TOO similar....
Looks like BS to me, like most of these sound mods going around, ESPECIALLY ones that use beats to market themselves.
Beats is Sh*t.
Edit: just had a quick look there and it's plain to see that this beats whatever is a blatant rip off of dsp manager.

Best audio you can get from an N7 is not to use it for serious audio purposes. Use something else if you're serious about sound. It will never be good, no matter what mod or headphones.
Dang someone's critical. It's not the same lib files check out how many modified dsp managers you can find and get back to me. I just appreciate that it works as promised.

I use the Fiio E11 coupled with a pair of Audio Technica m50s for hardware, and Neutron for my player. While they are right about the Nexus 7 not being able to create audiophile level quality sound, my ears enjoy this setup. YMMV
I like the nexus 7 sound. Use poweramp, a great set of wesc cans, and use FLAC files for all my tunes. Can`t complain at all.

If you really want quality sound w/headphones, otg cable to external DAC is the way to go! Need to be rooted and have the poitee, trinity 7 or Timur's Kernel. Much better with a decent DAC than any equalization or software mod. I'm listening to Joe Lovano's latest album right now on my Shure SHR-940's ->FiiO e10-> USB otg -> N7. Sounds really good.

Hi again i dont no if its just me but does the htc one loose volume wen upgrading to any 4.2.2 rom on stock 4.1.2 it seemed as tho it was louder playin music on stock 4.1.2 compared to 4.2.2

I thought the bigger issue was the firmware changing from 1.27 to 1.29 a couple months ago where many say the max volume was dropped. Personally I didn't notice such a dramatic difference though.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Both of these guys ^^^^^ are correct. One of the only ways i know to return it to higher levels is to install a custom kernel that has sound control (Such as Tbaldens Performance Kernel 2.1.4) and install an app (like trickster mod) that will give you the ability to control these levels. See attached pics.
AT&T HTC One | ARHD 12.0
Tbalden Perf Kernel 2.1.4 UV/OC/UC

Indeed, I was also interested when HTC lowered the volume. Again I can't speak from personal experience on this but there was a lot of talk about popping from the speakers initially which you don't hear as much about now. Perhaps it was for the better Still, awesome to know we can go back if we want

I've looked all over for a solution to make the speakers louder on 4.2.2 but no luck . When I got the phone it seamed loud but now I can't hear people when making calls in the car. I've tried beats off all different volumes and all the crap apps but still it's no louder than my note. I've read that HTC have lowered the volumes on 4.2.2 is there any way to get the volume back and make the speakers louder. Please don't respond by saying your phone is loud enough as mine isn't!!
Thanks
There is a zip to make it really loud again.

Both are correct. HTC has lowered the volume repeatedly in their upgraded firmwares. The man who said his is still loud is most likely still running old >1.26 FW.
Now, as of a way to raise these volumes im not quite sure how to do this through file editing (Maybe the zip in post #2 or #3 works, idk, if your in dire need, nandroid and flash it) BUT if youre up to flashing a kernel (assuming youre running 4.2.2 and are on sense) you can flash Tbaldens Performance Kernel (in Orig. Android Dev. section) and that will give you options to boost volumes on multiple fronts. I can confirm this works myself, as i use this feature actively and dont experience any crackling or popping. If you decide to download this kernel, youll need Trickstermod Kernel Control app from the Play Store to edit the values.
(Lol, seems like alot but i promise its not. Plus you get extra sweet features like USB Fastcharge, and Overclocking and all that jazz with the kernel. Its worth it)

Have you triend PureXAudio and Viper4Android, If you know to use them well, you can get a lot of output from your headset.
Boost as in volume boost? (IMHO, the Z provides deafening levels of volume when maxed out).
Or boost as in quality boost? If so, I would recommend trying out Neutron player from the store. It enhances the quality quite a bit, making the Z a well detailed source.

Just click the the last one, reboot and configure the settings for more details click here, There is a lot more that can be done with it, the thread whose link i gave you has all the details.
Bose is not high end, but yeah, it seems you just want louder sound. Don't confuse louder with quality.
viper4droid isnt working..i downloaded it from the googleplay and 2.4.4 version...but still it has no effect...either with walkman or power amp.

Yep this is the best.
Totally recommend.
Easy installation, superior quality and tons of settings.
I think this is better in overall than ACID mod.

Tried standard FX mode (super quality and power save). The sound is awesome but I experience high cpu temperature and massive battery drain. Even charging doesn't work properly anymore (connected but it's not charging, like -1% in 5 mins).
Does anybody experience similar problems or know why this occurs?
EDIT: I'm on Vanir nightly of 21.10
with Optimus Play kernel.
UPDATE: Tried to install it again as I wanted to figure out why I got this drain. After driver installation and reboot I watched the cpu freqs with Trickster Mod for quite some time and they got stuck on 4 cores over 475 MHz all the time (heat and drain apparent).
After another reboot I played around with trickster's settings (1core max, 2 cores max, power save mod etc) and suddenly after about 3 mins my cpu cooled down real quick and only the needed cores were online.
Now after 2 hours I have no drain anymore. Not sure what happened but I'm glad I can use this awesome mod.
