I have installed the zip file for safestrap me7 for verizon. When I go to file explorer, it does not come up as an apk file. How do i install this on my samsung galaxy s4 for verizon?
This is the subforum for the Galaxy S4 Active, not the Galaxy S4. The version of Safestrap posted here in this subforum by Hashcode is for the I537 AT&T version since they're the only US carrier that sells the GS4 Active.
You need to seek support over in the Galaxy S4 subforum at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2162
And be careful when you're installing such things; it could brick your device if you're not paying very very careful attention to what you're doing.

Dose the samsung S4 have the way to root directly but do not need to refresh the flash rom?
Try the right forum. This the S4 Active not the S4 original

A good place to start is in the AT&T S4 forums. Pretty much every question we have has already been answered there.
Here is a thread in which users talk about what they were able to remove from their phone. This thread looks promising as it allows you to pick and choose what you want to remove through Aroma, I'm not sure if it's compatible with our phone though.
I'm trying to start a thread for at&t galaxy s5 users. A place to share information that others may not know. Currently I'am looking for a stock kernel for my s5 just incase, I mess something up.
Sent from my stock rooted SM-G900A
Here you go, an entire S 5 forum for ya:
AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5-XDA
:good:
Can delete the thread now got it Rooted
I'm pretty noobish in regards to what's going on with the landscape of romming/modding for the AT&T Galaxy S6. Are the only roms we can only use the ones in the "AT&T Galaxy S6 Android Development" topic?
I remember trying to install one of the roms in the general "Galaxy S6 Android Development" thread, and it soft-bricked my phone. Then I read that the AT&T version of the S6 had it's bootloader locked. So then, it was suggested that we only use AT&T-specific roms. Has anything changed on that?
