No nandroid backups posted as they are individual to each user .
No stock roms posted as a nandroid either .
Or do you mean you want to backup your own phone >> Philz Recovery is best .

Thank you for replying.
I mean, get a full backup from another unit... and just use parts of it.

You won't get your IMEI back by flashing a 3-part-Rom.
What problem with your IMEI do you have? Starting with 004999...?

Hi All,
Totally new to the site.. was looking around for an answer but no much luck.
So question is how does backup ta works. I rooted the phone, and used the tool and now it has a backup. which is only 177kb
And does this mean that, later if i decide to go back to the stock rom, I can just recover from this backup ?
Thanks heaps for your help
Pavi:silly:

Compressed it can be 177KB, but that can be different per backup since the actual content isn't static. Extract the ZIP and check the size of TA.img, it should be 2MB (2048KB) round. Next time you better ask it in the Backup TA thread. Only read this one by coincidence .
yes!!

Why don't you try doing a full wipe and installing the rom again.
Don't forget the kernels. Try lower frequencies if it doesn't boot.
And I don't think anyone will provide a backup. For security reasons.. There's no need for a backup. Just do what @me4488 said.
i have tried full wipes already makes no difference
how can i flash kernels if my device wont boot ??

What do I need to backup to upgrade to android 4.4 so that I can restore my phone to an original state and get my warranty back.

First of all,4.4 roms available right now are only for unlocked bootloaders
before unlocking your bootloader, take a backup of TA partition (this helps to relock it in the future)
Also before flashing the new rom take a nandroid backup of your current rom (this will help you get back to your phone's current state if u wish after using any other roms)
Thanks,Can you tell me how to take nandroid backup.

Nandroid backup is needed to return back easily to your current rom
Its not necessary to make but i still recommend to have it in case you face any problems with the 4.4 roms
i have deleted my OS and now im stuck with cynemod(witch i hate) can anyone post a link for images when avaiable or extract a system.img from the phone.
Many thanks
decisionif it will work in other devices.
it seems it might take a while until ROMs are available so i decided to send my phone to HTC to put the system back on.
Ill do a TWRP backup first thing and share but not sure it will work in other devices.
If anybody knows out to extract the ROM, please post it here.
thank you

That sounds great guys.
How about a quick "how-to" for the rest of us. TWRP, root etc. if used, or at least how you went about flashing the stock ?

send to phone via sd card or TWRP adb push (google it)
use twrp to install from backup.
Need more help? come back and we'll try again.

according to a search in Google its not possible to be retail and have a demo because its 2 different ROMS.
you can use TWRP to wipe everything Data, Dalvik and System.
Then use the backup.
This are tips so please use at your own risk.

dont know what to say to that, however, you can try this:
http://repo.xposed.info/
install framework (use flash mode) and look for module BootManager. You can choose witch apps will run at system start. Disable demo app.
Make sure you follow all instructions and good luck.
let us know how it goes.
