[Q] Doesn't work recovery - HTC Incredible S

Doesn't work any recovery on my incredible s (when I go to recovery, I see only HTC logo), boot loader is unlocked but phone haven't s-off. May be cause of trouble in s-on?

How did you install these custom recoveries? You need to flash them in FASTBOOT USB mode with an unlocked bootloader.
You need to copy the recovery's img file to the same directory where you install and run ADB.exe and FASTBOOT.exe from and then enter the following command:
fastboot flash recovery [name of recovery.img file]

I did so

And did you get any errors? Was the write successful?

Hope the process of flashing didn't show "FAILED"...if then everything should be fine.

No errors, write is successful, but doesn't work

I forgot to say, that hboot shows "eMMC-boot", what does it mean?

I think i read your post regarding the same yesterday.
you did not that you have a custom recovery installed...
in this case you will not be able to flash the ruu as you are required to be stock with s-on
head over to arhd thread to get the closest experience to the stock rom.
download the arhd rom, flash in recovery

But I remember that I've did this before and reinstalled a stock ROM using RUU exe file, can't I do this now?
Does WWE ROM have Arabic language?
I am very depressed because of this problem, I want to have official HTC ICS ROM.

In order to install the ICS OTA after it has been downloaded, you will need to restore the stock HTC recovery and then relock your bootloader.

thanks tpbklake, i could relock the bootloader but I don't know how to have the HTC Recovery back instead of the current one, any guide to do this?
am quoting tpbklake here, listen to him, he's the best around here
Grab a RUU and extract the recovery.img file from the ROM.zip. Then flash the recovery image in FASTBOOT USB mode using
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Did you already relock the bootloader? You need to flash the stock recovery first, then relock the bootloader.
Did you extract the recovery.img file from the PG32IMG.zip file or are you just trying to have the bootloader flash the PG32IMG.zip?
The signature checking failure leads me to believe that the bootloader is locked/relocked.

How did you end up flashing the recovery? Did you use the PG32IMG.zip and copy it to your sd card or did you extract the recovery.img file and manually flash it?
If you used the PG32IMG.zip file then that probably changed the mainver value and that's why the OTA is not running.
Well guess what, my device is now crashed !, it is stock at the green HTC logo, I can not access anything except for the bootloader !.
i've installed the Android Revolution HD but it didn't work as well, my device is now in mess.

You never did answer my question about how you flashed the HTC stock recovery.
Anyway, If you unlocked your bootloader and reinstalled a custom Recovery and then attempted to install ARHD, did you manually extract and flash the boot.img file in FASTBOOT USB mode?
That may be all you need to do to get the phone booted.

htc vivid unbootable system

hello,
I have a problem guys i was flashing a rom (rom holics) happens to finishing flash, and in the process of restarting the device, I think for hurry I gave ah update.zip and rebooting, the screen stays there with the htc logo in black and restarts and the cycle repeats, could enter the bootloader, but now when I go into recovery at the beginning and who wants to enter (see the logo and lettering recovery) but then again with the white screen logo vibrates and reboots, I can do? by fastboot usb I can do something?
re-flash the recovery?
I ask for your support please
In fastboot, flash the recovery again I recommend wxcrecovery and then flash the ROM again. If you are s-on then you have to fastboot flash the kernel.

Recovery was written fine. Now you need to reboot to recovery. Instead of
fastboot reboot
do
fastboot reboot recovery
Or just select bootloader on the phone, then select recovery
Now you're in recovery, flash the ROM of your choice. If you're s-on, you'll then need to reboot to fastboot and fastboot flash the boot.img included with the rom

If all else fails flash stock recovery, re-lock bootloader, run an RUU ( or flash a PH39IMG.ZIP file ), unlock the bootloader, re-root, flash a custom recovery and restore your phone from a nandroid backup or titanium backup. and all should be well.

Just flash the 4EXT recovery image in FASTBOOT USB mode using the command:
fastboot flash recovery [path to the recovery.img file]
It is best to just copy the recovery.img file to the directory where you run FASTBOOT.exe from.

[Q] HELP: Messed up my kernel and boot.img

I know, two very bad mistakes. I was excited. First thing I did wrong was install a GE kernel when I should have installed a sense one..then I used fast boot to write TWRP to my boot image by accident instead of recovery. I tried to update RUU using fastboot, but I keep getting errors. I cant mount my internal storage, can't side load either.
Whenever I reboot, I boot into TWRP instead of system now. I probably have to restore, but not being able to RUU or side load, I dont know what to do. Please help!

Yes. You also should flash stock recovery before you flash the RUU, just to make sure everything goes right.

The RUU flashes the stock recovery so you don't need this. You don't even need the boot.img if you're going to flash an RUU. Just connect the phone in fastboot mode and then run the RUU. So long as you're S-OFF it should run fine
Your phone doesn't need a kernel to boot to recovery or fastboot, recovery has its own kernel built in... Just goto fastboot and flash a new boot.img
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Hboot_signedbyaa.img isn't a boot.img it's a hboot

Hi mate, in your signature I red OS 2.24.4018 / HBoot 1.54.0000 and now "tadaaaa" S-OFF and so on.
How did you do that? I've damaged my brain and gnawn down my nails but nothing works ....
Have you installed the 1.54.0000 on top of the 1.44.0000 (unlocked + S-OFF) and your HBOOT is still unlocked and S-OFF?
Or are u using the black&beauty ONE?
Then ou are a lucky man I guess.

[Q] s-off from recovery (TWRP, CWM)

My phone is stuck in RUU mode (HTC logo and 4 warning triangles).
I can get it to boot CWM or TWRP via fastboot boot. Problem is I'm S-ON with HTCDev unlock, and there's no RUU available for Bell Mobility.
Is there any way at all to get S-OFF directly from recovery? Like, run revone from adb in CWM recovery or something? Alternatively, is there any way to boot a full ROM using fastboot boot?

OK, total stupid moment.
All I had to do was restore a stock nandroid for my CID (found on http://www.htc1guru.com/) using recovery booted via fastboot boot [cwm filename].img.
Then, run fastboot oem boot.
Found last command on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612969
Guess i got scared by the warning triangles. :victory:
Looks like the "modem" partition is still corrupted, so I have to run fastboot oem boot every time I boot the phone. But, now I should be able to boot a rom, get root, and s-off the regular way.
Also I actually was S-ON with a locked bootloader - managed to do the HTCdev unlock "blind" while in the ruu mode.
