I have an unlocked atrix hd and am trying to use it on metropcs. how do i know if my 1700 aws band is active for lte. i used 4636 code to change to lte only and couldn't get anything then i changed the band to usa. i have searched the forum and found i shouldn't have done that and saw the solution was to reflash the radio/modem. I have done that. how do i know if the radio/modem has been reset. i'm still not getting any lte or hspa for that matter and i know my area supports it as i was on hspa with my previous provider that used tmobile towers and i tested that sim in my unlocked atrix before i ported to metropcs and hspa worked. right now i am only getting edge. any help would be appreciated.
UPDATE
i changed to WCDMA only through the 4636 code and i can get it to connect to HSPA but i live in Tampa and i think tmo has refarmed the 1900 band for HSPA so i think thats why i can use it but still no LTE when i select that option. Any ideas?

So i googled some more and tried changing the apn settings to fast.metropcs.com and set to LTE only and its working as far as data goes. But now when I try to make a phone call the call ends immediately i tried to change to LTE/WCDMA but it won't connect to LTE. I fix one thing and another one breaks sheesh. Any ideas?
This happened to me on my first days. I think i fixed it by flashing stock again with rsdlite then rooting, flashing touch recovery and then flashing the rom of my likes which is ProBam.. But im not sure how it will work with metro as i dont know what apn they use for lte

I flashed the the mexi fastboot stock rom and radio. Is there a way i can tell whether my phone is using the 1700 aws band. And metropcs uses the same apn as tmobile lte. fast-tmobile.com.

i'm running cm 10.2 nightly and mine is slightly different i have LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL). the W is missing. still no luck.

However, I found out I can't get 3G but only EDGE!!!!!!!!
i'm using t-mobile. I checked that the wcdma band is 2100 and I think xt862 support that right?
Any idea?

I think it should be 1700/2100.

It is not possible to get 3G on T-Mobile USA with D3 because it lacks the necessary hardware. It is not a software issue.

I went to tmobile yesterday, and confirm unlock phone just don't work at there 3G/4G because the technology is different......
I use prepay plan. So i just switch to Verizon. and xt883 rom doesn't work.... so I have to flash back to xt862 rom. That means, if I went back to China, I have to flash it to xt883 again to use it in China....
Can you go on AT&T? Their gsm frequencies should be compatible with droid3

I just flashed the recently released VJRaider 0.0.4. It went pretty smoothly except for one major issue. My Vivid no longer gets LTE. It only gets H and
3G. At first I thought it was only an issue w/ the icons being wrong as I read that was an issue w/ previous releases. Speed tests are definitely confirming that im not on LTE. Do I have to flash a new radio?
We don't have s-off so you can't flash a radio. I'd ask this in the ROM thread to see if other users have the same problem.

On topic, I'm running VjRaider 0.0.3 and haven't noticed any problems with this.
More than likely you need to enter in the correct apn settings. Some roms are missing certain apns

Hey! What APNs do you have on the ROM? Maybe you are on a non LTE APN.
Also on what network and country are you on?
ROM has all APNs that Pirateghost has compiled and a lot more, maybe some of them are wrong or have been changed.
I've changed some of the icons so you will see 3G, H, H+, 4G, and 4G LTE when you are on one of this networks and not just the 4G icon no matter what network are you on.
I don't have any LTE network available at my country yet, so I can't test this, and no one has reported me any trouble with LTE networks.

Right around early May, my droid 3 and my mom's droid 3 stopped gettinng 3g. Ihave switched in and out of airplane mode, switched from cdma to global to gsm and got nothing, and even called verizon about it. No one can tell me why our phones have suddenly lost 3g capabilities. I also checked 3g availability online and double checked with my Nexus One, which still gets 3g. Does anyone know anything about this?

If both phones lost it at the same time, it sounds like a possible local Verizon tower issue. Have you tried traveling to another area to see if the phones gain a 3G signal or try with another Verizon 3G device to see if it gets signal.
Go to ##program and use the 000000 and set it to EVDO only

what does EvoDo only do?
Disabled 1x and makes it so your only speed is 3g.

Had similar issue and fixed it by going back to stock, updating via System Updater method in the About Phone System Pref (wording of that may be incorrect but its there in the stock load out). After phone updated I re-rooted and reflashed the rom I was using and problem solved. I should mention that prior to doing that I had verizon customer support stumped and they had shipped me out a replacement phone before I realized how to fix it.

By forcing it to 3g it may force it to work.
You cannot have voice if switch to EV-DO only. It's CDMA. It is not just like GSM/UMTS, where you can switch to UMTS only and continue to have voice service.

I don't think he's suggesting it as a permanent solution, however if there is a hardware problem causing the 3G not to work, then you should be able to confirm this by setting it to evdo only. If it's having some sort of problem switching something on, then maybe the switch to evdo only will enable it and it might work when getting switched back to CDMA auto prl.

Thanks for clarifying. That is exactly what I meant but it was early in the morning and so having the clarification from someone more awake helps. Also I was aware EVDO only is just data.

It doesn't work with every operator.
For example here in Kazakhstan you can subscribe to 1xRTT only with simple handset or to combined 1xRTT + Ev-Do rev.A with smartphone or modem. In case of using service with smartphone switching to "EvDo only" leaves user off both networks.
have you tried a fastboot back to stock? it may be a software issue....
I am sure it is totally NV-item problem. Radio hardware is another issue.
I have changed NV-item 8035, rewritten all NV-items by those from whiterabbit, but still Ev-Do login being tried by MDN plus actual Ev-Do login.
When Matt says 4G LTE does not work, does this mean mobile data is inaccessible within a 4G LTE zone? I flashed the ROM and in my house I receive 4G LTE. I flashed ROM, all worked well, but I noticed mobile data didn't work when turned on. I assume it only works where you receive normal 4G or less or can an LTE tower still give me regular regular 4G if I select an option on my phone? Thank you I just needed some clarification.

like dirtbiker said, check if lte is enabled.
Make sure also you have the correct apns. Also depending on the rom, 4g may infact be lte fyi.
The fastest speeds I get on the 4.3 Roms are 6-7500kbps. My wife's HTC one with stock 4.1.2 is 21000-23000kbps

They are the same. Go to system/customize/ACC and edit the default.xml line where it says 'show_lte_for_4g' to true if you want it to say LTe, it doesn't really matter.

thanks i shall try that, i know that on the roms it will show 4g inplace of lte, but why have my lte speeds dissappeared after flashing 4.3roms. my wifes phone is running stock and her up and down streams are around 21mbps, mine are now between 4-5mbps

I already answered you in your second thread : New thread You didn't even answer... Don't just go around creating threads....
Flash this radio. It's the latest from Bell and Sasktel uses the same frequencies so you'll be fine. Download and then simply flash in recovery.
Afterwards, try this :
In phone press *#*#4636#*#*, then go to Phone Information, scroll down and you'll see "Set preferred network type:" , select "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto".
Reboot phone
THIS REQUIRES THAT YOU HAVE S-OFF, if you don't, not my problem.
