So i just bought the Htc One blue edition from best buy, been looking into s-off however its on hboot 1.44, and everything i have been reading is for 1.31 or 1.2...... is there a way to actually achieve s-off on 1.44 yet and i'm just retarded?

I know he has two threads but this is the one I used. In the OP he mentions error -6 and what to do to eliminate it.

Not directly related, but do you have the camera issue? I'm wondering if maybe cause the newer colors are presumably newer hardware revisions if maybe the bugs are at least somewhat worked out if this is indeed a hardware issue?

I know there's a ton of things we can do with s-off like different ruu's and supercid but what else?
I'm an HTC noob and there are others like me, so for us, tell us what we can do and how to do it
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Lots. Major stuff:
-change CID
-remove red text on splash screen
-custom splash screens
-downgrade firmware
How do you change the red text? That's a big annoyance to me
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Also a question from a noob. What benefit is there for being able to do those sorts of things since we can already flash the same roms onto multiple versions of hardware (except for sprint)?

normal users don't know what are the differences but S-OFF will give the devs a lot more space to develop and play on.
and most important, we can **** HTC warranty

If your looking to remove Tampered then you need to read the thread a bit more as you can re-run the process but with a command
that has -t on the end...
I've already done that.

They're talking about the red "This is for developmental purposes only... etc etc etc" on the white HTC splash screen when you first boot the phone.
Im on ATT HTC One, Once i'm on super CID, can i flash any RUU to my liking?
Hint - I plan to flash Dev edition RUU on it.

In theory yes. Its all the same hardware. And you can flash an Int. Rom
Hi guys, about to S-Off, which version is better as I know each version provides the end result differently, i.e hacked hboot etc, can anyone provide the Info for each version please.
Both are very published and will work.
I personally used revone because I wasn't near a pc (it can be done in terminal emulator) I think that moonshine is less buggy by looking at the posts in that thread. You just have to have knowledge of Linux live cds which are a breeze to use.

I personally used rev's version cos that was what I saw first. I'm not too sure who the moonshine group are, but I do know Revolution

My vote goes to revone. As simple as 1, 2, 3.
Revone. Doesn't require linux and firmware version doesn't matter.

HTC ONE rooted,S-Off,SuperCid
Good Thread OP. i would like to know also if there are any differences in the finished product..Any advantages to one or the other Once S-off is obtained...
Yes the rev is way easier but...... i went with moonshine because of 1 statement from the revone op..

What is "EARLY ACCESS PREVIEW"?
We want to give you S-OFF as soon as practically possible so an early access preview release is not a polished product but it does work (mostly).

That kind of made my mind up for me. What parts are not working would be my question...or what isnt working as good as you want it to?
What will a polished product that always works be like compared to a non polished version that mostly works..
Fuses and Beaups held out for weeks testing to make sure there wasnt any issues. for that I drink moonshine
I used ubuntu live CD and was done in 5 minutes.

Fuses who's part of the moonshine group is also known as JuopunutBear of unlimited.io group. Not sure why they've seperated though...
I used revone because moonshine don't support my device.
If you just try to S-On with moonshine, I heard you can brick your device due to the custom hboot, but I haven't verified that.
revone seem to have a more cautious approach to their wording, but that's not to take anything away from moonshine.
i used revone. Took 2 minutes including download + terminal emulator time. As far as I can tell, the only difference is the moonshine custom hboot. I can flash my own hboot though.
Rev
Reasons
1. Works on any Terminal
2. Does not require Unlocked
3. Had tamper resets and lock reversal clearly built in
As I'm used to doing the S-OFFs by Revone, I used theirs.
Hi everyone,
I know that you cannot achieve s-off with hboot 1.54. Now that hboot 1.55 is available with the latest OTA, is it worth still waiting for a method of achieving s-off with hboot 1.54 or are people likely to be trying to achieve it with the latest hboot. I've heard that 1.54 was very buggy which is why it wasn't possible...
Devs will work on an s-off for the hboot 1.55
1.54 isn't supportated.
Any idea which dev or devs are working on 1.55, do you know of a thread were they are discussing it ? You think us poor souls will be able to upgrade from 1.54 to 1.55 ?

Umh, idk atm...
I'm now very excited about upgrading to 4.3 if it comes with hboot 1.55
I, like a silly sausage, upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 as soon as I got the phone, this upgrading the hboot to 1.54 from 1.44. So I've never had the experience of s-off with the HTC One

Haha, that would be the irony. First we couldn't get s-off because our hboot is too new, now we would may not have s-off because our hboot is too old. Funny stuff

You want to hear something funny? When I S-OFF'd on the origional 1.44hboot I changed my CID firstly to HTC__001, but the ota wasn't available.... Everyone was saying change it to HTC__Y13 to get the update sooner, Did just that and boom, 4.2.2 update came straight through lol..... Maybe you're in a better position than the rest of us haha!!

I am waiting for cid htc_032 ... not sure how mainstream cid is that - it should be some kind of Europe unbranded....
By the way, I am with unlocked bootloader, cwm recovery and running on ARDH 22 rom... Once the new version in form of OTA out, How do I upgrade????? Flashing a stock recovery is quite clear, locking bootloader, well probably needed as well but what about the rom? Is it possible to upgrade the firmware only when I am S-ON?
Hello!
Is there already a way to make S-OFF for this version 3.63.69.3?

Search for the new "Firewater S-Off"! It worked for me, even without HTCDev unlocking (while using temp-root provided on the website).
I know this question is directed more towards the T-Mobile version but I was hoping to find guidance here as well. I have a One that currently has an unlocked bootloader and is rooted. The hboot is version 1.57. I've been trying to get the s-off for a while now but I'm not having any luck. I tried downgrading to different roms but I don't think that was the answer. I'm guessing it's because of my hboot version. Is there anyway to downgrad my hboot without already having the s-off? I've been doing a lot of research but I can't find anything that applies to the T-Mobile version and in my specific situation. I would appreciate it if someone could help me out with this or let me know that it is totally impossible to do right now. I've been working on this for days but I'm determined haha
