[Q] Returning to stock help - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
There are a lot of threads out there but I just cant seem to find the info I need, because there's a lot of info I don't understand. I want to return to stock as I plan on returning the device to service for purple tint. I also didn't get the latest firmware because I rooted and put ARHD v22.
I've made a backup only from ARHD ROM (not stock ROM) and plan to restore it after my camera get fixed, but it might be a chance out there that the new firmware will fix it for me, I'm not that low light pictures kinda guy anyway, but in order to return it I need to be stock.
Will it be fine if I flash mike's htc stock rom using the first method? It will be possible for me to get the last firmware using this stock deodexed ROM + stock recovery + relock?
I've rooted it when I had 1.44, then put the clean GPe ROM from bigxie, and after that I went back to stock with this RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.1_Radio_4A.13.3227.06_10.27.1127.01_release_308001_signed_2_4. I've had 2 updates so there goes my 1.44 hboot. Tried to flash that again but ofcourse it didnt worked.
So can someone guide me what to do to return to stock? Thank you!

Thank you, I am already subscribed to that thread. I think I found the solution. I have to flash a stock rom + recovery and wait for the specific OTA for my MID. But that it's not a good solution atm because my MID didn't received the update yet.

[Q] Revert from Hokin Anzhi chinese ROM to stock?

Hey everyone,
My brother just got a HTC Sensation XL for Christmas, however it was bought abroad in Hong Kong, and unknown to my parents had been flashed to the Hokin XL Anzhi ROM, I am just wondering if there is any way to revert it back to the stock HTC rom that would come on this phone. I have no backups of it obviously as we never had the original ROM. If this isnt possible, what is the best alternative, as this ROM seems useless with no English Browser, no android market etc..
I havent really flashed ROM's before, but it seems the phone has super user, but the boot menu is in chinese. I have been having a look around the development thread and noticed the Cappy ROM being mentioned, but i would probably prefer to get it to stock if possible as it was his present and not sure what he wants to do with it yet.
Thanks in advance
* check if the bootloader is locked or unlocked *
- pull battery out and put it back
- hold POWER and VOLUME DOWN for 3sec

If it says LOCKED: Flash an RUU ~> http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0a...822_3822.10.10.12_M_release_223366_signed.exe
If it says UNLOCKED: lock it back by following these instructions http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38853656/HTCdev - Lock instructions.zip (dont forget to download & install everything first)
THEN flash an RUU
hey thanks for your response the phone was originally UNLOCKED, so i have followed all the steps, and it now shows up as 'RELOCKED' will that be ok to procedd with the RUU? or have i done something wrong? thanks!
EDIT: i also now dont seem to be able to switch the phone on properly? When i power it, the bootloader starts with the
****RELOCKED****
****SECURITY WARNING****
have i done something wrong? kind of worried now
ok well i just tried flashing the RUU but i get the ERROR 131: CUstomer ID Error. Basically the wrong RUU for this phone? is there another one available? the phone was bought in hong kong. or unless there is something else i can do to get this to work?
Here are the other RUU try an Asian one like this one

Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using xda premium
unfortunately i am still getting the Error 131 with this RUU as well.. would it be something to do with it being rooted? or any idea where i can find some more to try?
can i tell which RUU i need by looking at the bootloader screen? thanks!
EDIT: apparently the image version on my phone is 1.05.707.5, not sure if that helps.
EDIT: FOUND THE RUU THAT WORKS!! Thanks for your help, it was the WWE version that seemed to restore it. Thanks for your help
i'm glad you got it, otherwise you could just unlock again and flash RCmix

[Q] Manually update stock ROM instead of OTA

Hi guy,
I have my IncS running on 2.3.3, previously i have s-off my device, as i read there is a thread that saying if need to have the OTA update for 2.3.5, i have to restore back the stock ROM.
So i try to check the stock ROM thread ([ROMs]Incredible S Shipped ROMs Collection) but i don't seem to find my stock ROM is the collection, but then i found this
RUU_VIVO_SENSE30_S_HTC_WWE_3.08.405.3_Radio_20.4802.30.0822U_3822.10.08.28_M_release_227170_signed.exe,
So i just wonder, is that possible for me directly restore this stock ROM directly?
since this rom is 2.3.5.
FYI, my device software number is 2.30.707.1, baseband version 20.2811.30.085AU_3805.09.03.27_M.
Thanks.

If you are S-OFF using Revolutionary, then trying to run the RUU will not work successfully because the Revolutionary S-OFF HBOOT will not allow the RUU to overwrite it and the stock ROM will only run and boot if you have HBOOT 2.00.0000.
In the Development section there is a pre-rooted version of this stock ROM which you can flash on a Revolutionary S-OFF. This gives you the advantage of trying it out without losing S-OFF and if you don't like it, just flash another custom ROM.
Hi tpbklake,
Thanks for the reply, just another stupid question, so far i see the HBoot version, is either 1.13 or 1.09, but when i check mine which s-off using Revolutionary,

It show Hboot-6.13, i think the original should be 1.13, is that mean mine also HBoot 1.13?

The Revolutionary S-OFF process implemented S-OFF by using a modified HBOOT and they made their's version 6.13.0000 to prevent overwriting it with a 'lower' version number and thus losing S-OFF when an official HTC OTA/RUU comes out.
That version number is what will prevent you from successfully installing the 3.08.405.3 RUU because the RUU will attempt to load HBOOT 2.00.0000 (lower version number) on a phone that has HBOOT 6.13.0000.

[Q] Where can I find correct RUU

I have a HTC One on EE (T-Mobile) in UK. I want to root and install custom rom but unable to find correct RUU for if I need to send it for repair, etc.
I was wondering if anyone had or could get hold of the correct RUU.
EDIT: CID is- ORANG001

Thanks. I have been using Samsung phones since my HTC Desire HD and as far as I remember, you could only go back to complete stock settings with an RUU.

this is my first HTC too but I was on VODA UK and no RUU so have a nandroid and I am sure that if needed I could get it back to stock with the nandroid with a bit of tweeking
you plan will NOT work.
because even if you revert back to stock, the TEXT in fastboot menu will say Tempered which means you Root & Unlock'd it,
to fix this you have to be S-Off which means you can install any RUU you want,
so make sure you have a Nandroid Backup (or 2) just to be sure save it on your computer

[Q] Help, attempting to return to stock trouble.

I was having some issues with custom roms no longer being stable for use and there not really being any good stables ones for the HTC One so wanted to return to stock.
I found this guide in a thread somewhere on here and followed it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0G0hKY4P9Y.
When I attempted to flash the ruu.zip it just fails verification or something and I can't do anything with the phone.
I've been looking everywhere and no one seems to bother explain how you go about finding an RUU for your phone and which one is the correct one.
The one I am attempting to use is this (RUU Zip M7 UL JB 50 HTC Europe 1.29.401.16 R Radio 4A.14.3250.13 10.33.1150.01 Release 318486 Signed 2 4 - (Decrypted by crushalot) from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428276.

I think error 12, signature verification fail, means either your CID or MID don't match the RUU you are using.
I don't know which you tried, but saying there are no good stable custom roms for the One really isn't true...l

The one I used matched the code I got earlier in the guide. I found out it didn't work due to the thing being decrypted.
However I've sorted it now and returned to stock using another guide.
I'm having an issue now that when I attempt to enter the recovery I get a phone with a green downward arrow with two arrows forming a circle around it. It then after a while goes to a phone with a red triangle and exclamation mark.
Any idea what this means?
that would be the stock recovery.

Isn't the stock recovery normally more than just a picture of a red triangle with an exclamation mark in it?

never had this exact problem, although I had similar apn issues on my old sgs2 and various custom roms..
assume you're on custom rom. sometimes reflashing the rom or clean reflashing or just flash another rom might just make calls work. in case it doesn't you can always go back to your carrier official rom and when you got that working clean flash a custom rom on top of it. if the official rom still won't work, have your sim verified. good luck.

the easiest just go to your carrier kiosk and have the sim card verified, ie it accepts calls on another phone. if that works, go back to complete stock on your device and send it for repairs
