I basically just like the cleanliness of CM10. I don't know if I need 10.1 or 10.2 or whatever works. I have TWRP/root/unlocked bootloader, not sure if I need s-off, and not sure which rom to pick.
Whats the most stable CM-based rom with every feature working? (IR, LTE, etc)

CM7.1 is too old.
You can find CM7.2 here. You can use Temasek Kang which is ULTRA stable and works really well.
In fact, I don't miss a stock rom anymore (except the Onscreen Phone). Everything works great (USB, A2DP, compass, 1080p recording, accelerometer, HDMI out, etc.) Make sure to use Temasek's kernel with sensors version. The stock kernel disables the compass in Google Maps. That special version solves the issue.
Cheers!
hi charlie i actually wants stock rom with all stock apps and some cm 7.1 apps and tweaks with sense 3.0 theme, also can you help me, which kitchen this rom developer use so i can also try
You can't use CM7 apps on a stock ROM because they depend on the CM framework, as far as I know.
I mentioned Temasek's CM7.2 KANG because it has all the features you need and is faster and more stable than the stock ROM. all the issues you mentioned were solved long time ago.
You can go back to stock ROM anytime you want with nvflash or smartflash, or simply by restoring your nandroid backup.
Cheers!

He (temasek) builds the cm rom from source. Hard to mix cm and stock.

It isn't hard, it is almost impossible

That's the closest u can find, a hybrid ROM, CM7+Stock.
So after loving my AOKP i777, I decided that I am going to try a custom ROM on my 8.9. I have already installed CWM and now I am trying to make a decision of what ROM to run. Should just go for HC with Overcome at the moment or go with AOKP which I am already familiar with my phone?
One question with AOKP, I was reading some issues with the most current release of it, is that a small margin of people with issues?

Make a backup and try yourself. ICS is certainly a lot faster then any HC rom. Only thing that doesn't work with ICS roms is the camera, so if you need the camera then your only choice is HC.
Ok im getting a used phone that is stocked never been rooted and ill update to 2.3.5. What is best stable rom with battery life and OC after i odin and corn kk_4 v705 and do i need BL drs or not necessary?
Many ROMs are stable. Best ROM is the one you like most.
For people with no experience with Captivate I always recommend this Guide. It shows step-by-step how to update the OS from GB to CM10.x stable. CyanogenMod is the most popular ROM, CM10.1.3 Stable is JB 4.2.2 based, CM10.2 Stable is JB 4.3.1 based. Don't flash beta or experimental ROMs as your first custom ROM. Read the guide VERY carefully and try to understand what you are doing.
Ive had Cappy back in the day with Heimdall days and 2.2 lol. Im getting a used Cappy this week it will be 2.1. Yes i already have latest stable 10 and gapps downloaded and ready and wanted to know if i can use the s3 touch wiz after all is said and done? Sec launcher signed or unsigned? Can i use neat kernel on this or what do you recommend for OC`ing?
- You can't upgrade to CM10.x starting from Eclair, read the Guide.
- You can get TouchWiz style theme and/or TouchWiz launcher, whatever you like.
- Be careful what kernel/version you are looking at, different kernels are for different Android versions.
- I wouldn't recommend OC over 1.2GHz. Default CM kernel supports step OC to 1.2GHz.
- Careful with CM10.2 Android 4.3.1 based, kernel change may break the ROM.
I see you are in a hurry to transform your Captivate to something awesome, but please read more and understand what you are doing. All the information needed is already here on XDA. Use Search and you'll fund what you are looking for. Upgrading from 2.1 to 2.3.x includes bootloaders flash and a risk to brick your device. I recommend you to use KIES for this process, follow the instructions closely.
I meant after ive done the kies and 2.3.5
OK
- you can use whatever you want launcher with CM10.x
- Neat kernel is for different Android version (4.4.x), don't flash it
- for CM10.2 my recommendation is to use default CM kernel
hello, mine is CM10.1.3 but I was able to use the JB 4.3 but its running real slow. do I need to update it for something?

CM11 Android 4.4.2 based nightly builds are quite stable. Some features are still missing, but coming back soon. I'm currently running latest 20131215 and I have no issues whatsoever. In my opinion, CM11 runs better than CM10.2 and uses less RAM. Leave ART alone for now, it's in experimental stage and more potent hardware is needed to show real advantages; use default Dalvik VM.
Keep in mind, that once the phone is repartitioned to run CM10.2/CM11 there is no easy way to go back to CM10.1. You'll need to go back to stock GB, flash Corn kernel, flash CM10.1 to repartition, flash CM10.1 again to install the ROM.
thank you! but can I directly update it to CM11? since Im running CM 10.1 or do I first need to update it to CM10.2?

Follow the instructions:

once you get a custom recovery on the phone, then it becomes a much easier process. I only really found trying to unlock the phone as the main difficult item.
Hi,
I have 2 year old Razr-M on Verizon. It's been a faithful phone for a long time.
Ages ago, I rooted the phone, installed Clockwork, and Cyanogen. Not thrilled with Cyanogen's performance, I switched to OSE back in November.
At some point in my experimenting, I flashed a new radio to the phone, but don't remember which.
The phone has been reasonably stable, but still hangs/crashes once or twice a week.
Now, I'd like to clean things up.
Get the best radio that allows for international bands, GSM and, GPS
Install a STABLE ROM
Update/Install latest most stable bootloader
With so many packages and options here, I don't really know where to start. (OSE, Pacman, ???)
Can anyone suggest a clear, stable setup for both radio and ROM?
(Note: I travel internationally *A Lot*, so need to make sure all the different bands stay enabled.)
Thanks!!
Should add that I don't care about pretty graphics or extra features. Just want solid, stable, functional.
Well the most stable is going to be stock/stock based roms. Maybe try out rage m on the jb bootloader or root stock kk and start removing bloat
Tapatalk'n it from my XT907 (MoKee 4.4.4) on Page Plus Cellular.
Cool,
And what about the radio? Any suggestions?
I don't think there's much options for radio. Ics/jb radios work on JB bootloader roms kk bootloader roms are limited to only the kk radio
Tapatalk'n it from my XT907 (MoKee 4.4.4) on Page Plus Cellular.
Are all Roms discontinued for this phone? Can anyone make any recommendations on a good stable ROM? Thanks!
The stock rom is best - it's the only one with everything working. You can get most of the advantages of a custom rom with xposed and gravitybox Also the updated stock rom has VoLTE, even though it hasn't been certified by the carriers yet so it doesn't work!
.. but stock ROMs were also discontinued, why?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/r1-hd/development/prime-stock-rom-6-5-flashed-via-twrp-t3455532
They are not stable?
Whatever ROM I used from this site could no sign in to Amazon Music app.
How to revert to stock ROM?

No, stock Roms are stable, but the dev who was working on maintaining it up to current update level, no longer has the phone, so can no longer continue with it. But they are stable.
The Amazon app itself needs to be updated. Do a google search, for Amazon apps not working , you will find some information about a browser component that needs to be updated.
I have an extra, screen is broken but it works, I would let someone have it if they will get lineage or something working good for us.
