Hello,
i am having problems with random soft reboots on my HTC one since i bought it. It happened with stock 4.1.2 and continued with upgrade to 4.2.1, it even rebooted few times while upgrading. I am not sure if some app is causing reboots, it happens only when using it, sometimes while in whatsapp, mx player, dolphine browser, sometimes sense crashes. It happens 3-4 times a day. Now i am on Revolution HD 22 and facing it again, it even reboots after clean install with only few apps. On HD 22 sometimes freezes with black screen so i have to kill it.
Now i am thinking that it is some kind of hardware problem.
What can i do?
Does anybody else have problems like this?
Thanks!
Did you choose a full wipe when you installed V22 (I love it fast smooth and bug free for me)
I would do a Titanium back up (apps you installed only no date - then re-install the app and choose to wipe all options on the install - that should resolve it for you
I did few full wipes and clean installs and even did not used TB to restore.

Since I'm on JVQ I'm getting a very annoying error on my SGS: When the battery drops below 10% the Samsung Music Player stops working like it always did before. Now instead it immediately auto restarts and closing itself again in an infinite loop. This process occupies the phone at 100% making it impossible to use for anything else and drains the last 10% of battery in no-time.
Initially I've been running Chainfire's CF 3.7 Kernel then I switched to Semaphore's 1.3.1. I tried to factory reset the phone, clearing Dalvik, clearing Cache, fixing permissions but everything to no avail.
As it its running as a service I can not even change the auto-start options of the Program with the Gemini App.
Any ideas anyone?
Could be ur kernel prob??? fine here using cf3.7 root kernel..

Don't think that it's a kernel problem otherwise there would be more people around with my same issue. For now I just deleted the player from the system folder, now looking for a good third party music player. Any suggestions?

I also have the same problem as you. After you do factory reset, did you try to test it before you restore eveything back to your device? I am thinking that will be third party software crash it. But I am not sure. When you do factory reset, is this problem still there when the device is completely clean?
No, I didn't try it on a clean system. After factory reset I immediately restored all my programs... :-(
Anyway, I guess you are right but finding the culprit amongst over 200 installed apps is too cumbersome, so simply deleting the music player is easier... ;-)

It definitely was not spotify because I never used it. Anyway, I moved on to JVR and the problem disappeared by itself.

This is not related to ROM or Kernel itself. If you remove some system apps then will cause this problem. After you flash a ROM. Do not remove system apps. You can still restore all your data by titanium backup. After restore, the problem still does not exist. But once you remove system apps, music player notification will keep pop up when low battery.
i tried almost every ics rom and at start they all were very fast but after some time they become much much slow. any solution for this
Can this be because of your installed applications and overall system debris.

No not like that. I installed vry few apps but stil it gets slow. I tried Docs rom, slim rom even every 1 but they all get slow after some time. I always do full wipe and than instal clean fresh rom

How much time passes before the system starts to run slower?

Try restarting your phone, wiping up all the cache. Maybe this might help.

I have exactly the same problem. Wiping cashe through CWM doesn't change anything, it still gets slower after a few hours or a day max.
I have SE xperia neo v, rooted, unlocked bootloader, rom pureness 11, kernel nightelf 1.4. It gets so slow it actually refreshes/crashes (not sure) ex launcher pro and I can't do anything but reboot. Then everything is great and very fast at the beginning and then gets slower.
There is about 70mb RAM both at the beginning and later when it gets slow so I suppose it's not the full ram problem? CPU is also mostly free, I check if games are not running in background so that is not the problem as well. Internal space: about 85mb free and a few GB free on SD.
I have lots of apps installed (about 50) but I think it would slow my mobile from the very beginning after reboot?
Any advice?
I'm no expert on these devices, but I can tell you what I do to help with this problem... I simply hold the home button down until the recent apps show and then slide them off the screen. My phone runs OK for a few hours until I rinse and repeat...

Thanks, I will try it when the phone gets slow again and let you know it it helped.
Edit:
Nope, that's not it at all. Deleted everything from recent apps the way you told. Go launcher EX is right now turning on and off constantly, most of apps that are usually open have long since closed themselves. I have to reboot, there's nothing else I can do.
Edit 2:
I have deleted a few apps that I don't or rarely use and 4/5 of games I had. It stopped crashing my launcher and I don't have to reboot anymore. So I guess it was just too many apps and games (unless on the way I've done sth else that helped that I'm not aware of).
I rooted my nook with the SD CWM and installed the root, gapps, white one white, ans unknown apps zips and every thing works fine except about once every few hours the nook will freeze and suddenly reboot.
I am not sure how to trouble shoot what may be causing this.
Has anyone else had this issue or know what i can do to fix it?

I have not experienced that. It is probably a third party app you installed. Try unistalling everything you installed except my zips and see if it continues. Then re-install others one by one until you find which one.

Not sure what is going on. I experienced it on stock rom, and I'm also experiencing it on Android Revolution HD Rom.
It seems like whenever the phone is tasked by an app opening or closing, I experience a random reboot.
Anyone know whats causing it?
Yeap me too, but only after closing final fantasy IV.. Dunno what's the deal here

Me, too, but I didn't catch any regularity, yet.
I am on stock ROM.
One time a had a crash report from htc, but most times I only realize it, because I have to re-enter my pin.
Today I realised, that long-pressing the power-button does restart the phone without any other input.
Maybe it's that?
I'm using developer edition and have been suffered from heavily random reboot.
The phone rarely rebooted (2 or 3 times) while I was using it but just kept rebooting if I left it idle (5 reboots in 20 mins). I cannot reproduce the reboot because it was so random. One day, it just kept me annoying by rebooting itself more than a dozen time. The other day it just went super smooth and stable. This reboot has been happening on both completely stock and custom (Rom, kernel).
Anyone got a clue?
If you know a certain action is causing the reboot get a logcat, there's an app called catlog on the play store. Press record, repeat the action, after it reboots get the logcat and post it here

Same issue here! I'm using TrickDroid though. Has anyone tried this with 4.2.2 to see if it still happens?

I'm using Android Revolution ROM on 4.2.2., same thing. It happens once in a blue moon, and it's only on wake when I hit the power button. The whole phone freezes and reboots.
Is everyone here on the Developer's Edition?
I'm having the same issue, dev edition stock except recovery, and root. Some days it reboots, other days its fine. Not exactly sure whats up w/ that
Sent from my HTC One
I'm gonna go ahead and bump this, seeing as I'm facing the same issue on my 2 day old device.
At first I thought it was a problem with 4.1.2, but even after upgrading to 4.2.2 the issue is still there.
ViperOne 2.1.0 the same trouble
Hello,
I confirm the same problem on ViperOne ROM. I have tried out ElementalX 3.4 and Bulletproof kernels. But it seems to be kernel independent.
I attached the log, my configuration is as described in my signature except that I use Bulletproof kernel right now.
It is quite frustrating cause I just wanted to play a movie on my TV using Hama MHL cable, but everytime I connect my phone to the adapter the phone reboots, then it gets stuck on HTC logo, then I have to reboot it manually holding power button. I am also experiencing a reboot right after phone boots up.
This is such a serious issue that I am thinking of going back to stock kernel, but I am not sure if it will help
Any hints?
EDIT: I just installed stock kernel, but still the same, really does not seem to be a problem of the kernel
EDIT2: still trying to find the out whats the problem, I did a clean reinstallation of everything, even w/o using Titanium Backup, well, MHL still causes reboots
Woa, haven't been to XDA for years... Anyway, to the point.
When my i9000 was passed on to my mother I left the ROM-scene and stuck with Stock on my new phone.
Before I gave my mother my old one though I did a complete clean install of AllianceROM XXJW4 Base
(2.6.35.7-I9000XXJW4-CL1043937, [email protected] #DarkCore_4.5_JW4).
It has worked just fine for the longest time. Just recently though issues have plopped up.
Seemingly at random the launcher seems to restart. Standing on home it will suddenly go black, render up home again, go black, etc. During this I cant press anything on home. I can open the power menu and I can force a shut down of the phone. This resolves the issue temporarily, but it quickly returns.
At first it only did this for a few seconds then continued as normal, but now it keeps flickering for over a minute, sometimes it even seem indefinitely and I have to restart it. The launcher used is the TouchWiz bundled in the ROM. My mother refuses to use another launcher so I have not been able to deduce if this issue appears for other launchers as it is pretty random, so I can't reproduce it quickly.
I would like to find a solution for this which does not require a wiping re-flash or some-such. My mother is very reluctant to lose her application data and there is some issue with the root so Titanium Backup just keeps throwing errors at me, and I can't update the binaries using Superuser, it just fails.
Is it feasible to flash a Stock Samsung ROM from AllianceROM without wiping data? Or do you guys have any other suggestions what to try?
Only read the first part of this post, it shows how you can lock the launcher in home memory in GB:
