[Q] Problem with W8 touchpad after upgrade - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I created the topic here, because apparently W8 doesn't have any particular forum here.
I have a W8 and it was working fine with Stock kernel and rom (2.1)
Last week I decided to upgrade it and use custom roms.
I did everything in the right way and custom roms worked pretty well during the last week.
Two days ago I found some problems in my touchpad. I couldn't tap some parts of the screen, or when I was writing a message, some keys were automatically pushed repeatedly.
So I thought it's because of the rom and it has some bugs.
I restored to my stock kernel and rom (via xRecovery)
But the problem still existed.
I used SEUS and reinstalled the stock rom
But the problem is still there.
Since there wasn't any problem before the time I changed the rom and kernel, is there any possibility that the problem be originated from software? Or it's definitely hardware-related?
There hasn't been any damage or harm to the screen during the last week.
Can it be a malware? I've checked the memory stick with updated ESET.
What's your suggestion?

Have u been using Cheap charger? Not original?

Your radio isn't correct for the ROM you're using, or your kernel isn't correct for the camera app you're using.

Well yesterday is when I noticed it.. I flashed a theme. The last time I used my camera was Thursday..
I did a restore, and came back to my original state before I flashed the theme.. still not working.. =/

Its not hardware
The Problem is not HARDWARE RELATED. i had the exact same problem and suffered for almost a month. there is NO definitive answer on google. ive searched and searched. ive done EVERYTHING from reseating the memory card to flashing weird kernels to applying pressure on the camera. BUT in the end the solution was very easy.
Solution : REVERT YOUR FIRMWARE TO FRF91. TOTAL STOCK and UNROOTED. it installs an old radio version and im almost certain the problem was due to the Radio version . i used AMON RA's latest recovery to do so. wipe EVERYTHING 3 times. and flash the zip. also.. you need to be rooted at first to install the recovery from terminal. if you're new to this recovery/flashing roms.. google it. its fairly simple.
this worked for me miraculously and i do hope it works for you all .
happy to help.

[Q] Question about the warranty

Hello. everyone!
This my first thread!
So a question about the warranty: I have a X8 with nAa 11 kernel, ICS, unlocked bootloader, and root.
If i flashed the stock kernel back, re-locked bootloader nad flashed back to stock android with loosing root via SEUS, will i have my warranty.
My first android phone was HTC Tatto, it is still rooted, and i had to give to warranty service, because of my non-working charging port, and they fixed it!
So i think they probably wont fix it because of the noticable new stock image and custom rom. They wont see the superuser app.
WRONG SECTION - this is the GENERAL board, not the "Q&A"
*Waits for Colossus to close the thread*
As an answer - if you completely restore back to Stock Kernel / Locked boot loader / Stock ROM it's very unlikely they will notice you had it rooted and a custom kernel running - unless it's a W8 and you flashed the X8 Stock ROM; even a blind one won't miss that something's not right here.

If you flashed all those things back to normal then take a look at this next part:
If you rooted a month ago (or less than that) you should be alright.
If you rooted 2-3 months ago then Maybe a chance
If you rooted 4+ months then there isn't much hope
and if you rooted 1 year ago, yer screwed.
Hope it helped P.S like b.jay said, if you have a w8 and flashed stock x8, they will be wandering where walkman and stuff etc is.....

@Wilbso,
Why would it matter how long ago you rooted your phone?
What difference does it make if I rooted it 4 months ago as if I rooted it a week ago?

i think there will be no problem when you do this....my phone had some hardware problem last month and i gave it to service centre...they never saw a differnce and repared it....i just flashed my stock kernel and went back to 2.1 rom...it was still rooted and bootloader was unlocked ...i bought my phone in dec2010
ps;my phone is still not repaired...it has touch bugs ..idiot se

Ideos x6/ Spice Mi410 battery issue

Hi,
I am using stock gingerbread rom from Spice website.
Everything is ok except battery calibration.
My phone usually shuts off at 15% battery life. I have tried using batterycalibration app to delete the batterystats. Nothing happens.
If my phone shut off and I recharge in off state, then it is fixed. My battery goes down to around 5% and shuts off.
However if I recharge the phone in an ON state anytime, the same problem comes back, phone shuts off at 15%.
Is there any permanent fix for this? I can't allow phone to drain fully, shut it off for hours to recharge and then use! Very impractical!
Any suggestions?
Can something like this be done for our phone?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765609
Thanks
How long has it been since you flashed stock. Im using the same Rom and my phone shuts off at 5% when its on. You've to wait for a couple of week at least before battery is semi accurate

hi
yes it it very much safe.IF ur still worried walk in to any spice service center and they will give u the same for free just remember to take a copy of ur original bill
Upgrading to any rom is safe if its meant for your phone. You could also take a complete nandroid backup and flash any rom. If for any reason you want to go back to the preloaded stock rom, you can always restore the backup.
Like haree said, you could also get any spice mobile centre to do it.
However from personal experience after using the spice gingerbread rom, try upgrading to other custom roms like CM7/Andro-id etc.
They will give you a much better experience.
thanks guys .ive just upgreaded to that rom given by spice on their website.there is only minor difrrencess here and there.but nothing special.i expected more from gingerbread.now i am thinking of tring custom roms..thanks again for helping me to get rid of my doubt..

In your previous post, you were worried about nulling warantee by flashing ROMs. Note that some custom ROMs are pre-rooted, and rooting the phone nulls the warantee. However, you can always go back to your stock ROM before taking your phone to the service center and there is no way to figure out that the phone has/had been rooted
There are a lot.
There are lots of custom ROMs in the development section of our device that you can try. Currently using, MIUI 2.4.20 by Sir Zuk and no major issues at all.
Guys, I switched to ICS a month ago and boy, what a difference to battery life!
I am easily getting 24+ hours with normal office usage using IceColdSandwich ICS ROM!
On the stock GB by spice I could barely squeeze 12+ hours!
Highly recommend everyone to try CM9 or Icecoldsandwich ICS in the android development section.

Random reboots

Hi guys
A friend of mine has a problem: his Galaxy keeps restarting randomly for no reason, many times in a day while using it.
What is weird: the phone hasn't ever been rooted/flashed with a custom rom, neither updated, always been 100% original. Just a normal usage!
I'm not much into this phone, so i don't know if it's a known issue or what.. but it sounds strange to me, possible hardware problem? Needs to be flashed or rooted? Other?
I've already done a factory reset and now i took off the sd-card to see if it could be it, but i'd appreciate some advices!
Thanks
Try updating it with kies, might help but can't guarantee
if random reboots happens while using too much mobile resources then its normal for galaxy mini like phone
Random Reboots might be device specific or not , It depends.
But you may want to visit the samsung care center in your vicinity area just to be sure about the latter .
Else just flash a new stock Rom via ODIN (not that it would leave your device impure as rooting does ).

Is Froyo the last "official" release or was a Gingerbread leaked/official firmware released? I'll probably try flashing something, don't know yet if a custom rom could solve the problem but still it's a possibility

With mobile resources you mean 3G/wifi or RAM? By the way in both the cases i don't think it's the problem, since there aren't many apps in background and the only one using internet connection is whatsapp!
Thanks for the replies :good:

The last official android update for for sgm was gingerbread based api.
Try flashing the stock gingerbread on the device via odin (google it if you don't know how to.) and then try custom roms.
Also the thing about resources, you already know about our sgm aka lil'g . Its not that powerful as most quad core latest devices boosted by plenty much RAM. So multitask on it wisely.

I'll try with gingerbread when i see my friend, thanks! I own a i9000 and flashed pretty much so i know odin and similar stuff, no problem
And yes i tried the mini many times, doesn't have a bunch of ram but still i think it can't be a ram-lack problem since it did the same also after the factory reset, with few apps installed!
Thanks again for the help :good:
Oh, was forgetting: how does the cyano run on the mini? Smooth? Battery killer or ok for everyday use?
Try cm7 by mebitek. Despite its source code is old and official cm7 is way more ahead of it, the mebitek's cm7 relays on battery & performance like a pro..
by resources I mean more ram and CPU usage
background apps ( they don't play big role as they get closed automatically)
running big games (HD one)
etc.
if you have many apps, cut the .android_secure folder and paste it on your computer.. i had this problem with the stock GB 2.3.6.. reboots reboots and reboots!! i pasted the folder in my comp, delete unnecessarily used apps and VOILA! it was running smooth again.. but now i'm using cm7..
I updated to official gingerbread release, then after putting all the (few) apps into phone storage i removed every android-secure file!
I'll see how it goes with this, if the problem remains i'll try a cyano or go directly to the service center
Thanks again for the tips!

MY x8 Rebooting Story....

HI guys,
Just sharing this information here might it will help to somebody....
its been a weird experience>>>>> i read/posted/commented on THREAD's relating to X8 reLoop/ReBooting/on-off problems.. now i faced that problem tooo
here is my story: i put my x8 on charging after an hour(battry fully charged) turned on wifi and when i opened My Gapp suddenly phone reboots automatic.... afterwards(assuming the reboot caused due to RAM consumption) but HELL it started rebooting after every 2 mints..:crying:
i checked the RAM, cleaned SOME ram memory uninstalled some apps(kept 50mb free)>>>problem not solved<<<<< then re-flashed MY ROM(ULTRABEAM GB ROM) still not solved>>>> re-flashed my KERNEL(nAa-14) ddnt worked either....(did full wipe/dalvik/factory reset)
i thought this might b cause due to virus>>>formatted my SDCARD again not worked...
and then i found myself at a stage where if i try installing others ROM's its get stuck at"copying system"/wiping system
some roms got stuck at formattingdata etc....
SO before going to final step(STOCK FIRMWARE)...
stupidly idea.. i changed my sdcard copied the ROM... flashed through CWM///////
>>>>>atlast stupidity worked problem solved<<<< no reloops/reboots.... HUH!!!!
this sounds stupid... but this solved my problem after wasting my 4 hours...
Please help me out?
Hey guys, it has recently occured to me that UltraBeam GB is ported over to the Xperia X8. What I don't understand is nobody even told me or PM that it has been here all this time...
I'm the creator of this ROM, and would like to know who has ported this ROM over to this device. Please link me the thread on where UltraBeam GB is, and hopefully I might start working on this device.
Thanks!
P.S I mostly care about the thread on where UB is, if you can give me that then I'm greatful. Cheers :highfive:

Never heard of it.
The only references to this rom in x8 forum is the two posts above and this post: forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50063152&postcount=433 (I guess this clears up who ported it )
Either it wasn't posted here on xda or for some reason it got removed.
And btw, this forum is pretty much dead. If you don't own the device it will be a little difficult to make something on par with the existing roms.
