I do not think it will work. But only thing you can try is to push apk in system/app. System apps can't be installed like non-system.

Nope it will always (all of gingerbread stuffs) request Gingerbread's libraries and framework. So it's need to be ported or download a keyboard app from market. They have themes
You can use 'Thumb Keyboard' from goople play. It has a theme of Gingerbread Keyboard.

hi,
i am using a samsung galaxy s, trying to figure out if it is a deodexed rom or not. i installed the XXJVO_XXJVO_OXAJVO update from samfirmware.
how do i find out if its deodexed?
thanks
It's stock, so I'm almost sure it's not deodexed...
deodexed or not
you can very easy figure out if your rom is deodexed or not.
install from market root explorer or super manager (free) and then navigate in /system/app and then /system/framework and look there for odex files. If you can't see any that means your rom is deodexed. Of course you must first root your galaxy.
I hope that this guide wiil help you.

All samfirmwares are stock odexed firmwares. You want deodexed you need to navigate to Ramad's thread containing stock odexed and deodexed firmwares

What rom are you using? For example, in some Darky rom tw4 is pre-installed or it can be installed so if tw4 is important to you, you can try Darky.

WeUI gives you the option of Touchwiz on ICS, I've been running this ROM the past three days and it's pretty awesome. Haven't installed touchwiz but it gives you the option to install it during the setup.

Hi everybody, I have a little request. Can someone post the file "browser.apk" from an ICS Stock ROM for Galaxy Note?
I need to install the stock browser modified by Samsung, because it's the only one I like. I don't like the stock ICS browser (it's too laggy for me, expecially for the pinch to zoom), so I want to replace it with the Samsung Stock version.
Can somebody help me? I made a search and I found only the Gingerbread version of the browser. It doesn't work with my ICS version (it's a Cyanogenmod 9 RC1). I can't install a stock ICS ROM because my Note is an italian one, and ICS is not officially shipped anymore.
I'm not very familiar with installing ROMS on Android, so I don't want to install unsafe ROMs.
If ICS Stock browser.apk doesn't work, is there a modded ROM with the Samsung Stock browser?
this needs to be in Q&A notihng to do with dev section, post reported
Sorry, made a mistake! :|

Downloads stock ROM for CWM from the DEV section.
Unzip, locate the required APK and drop it into system/app then reboot.
Job done.
Backup any files you replace, just in case..... Copy them to your memory card.
You need to be rooted for this to work and use a tool like ES File Explorer that allows you to mount system as writable.

Hi, thank you for your reply.
I have found Stock ROMS you can install with Odin. Are they the same? Because I tried to extract browser.apk but i couldn't.

To be honest I don't know
There must be a way of extracting the APK but I've never worked with Odin ROMs
You could try one of the Rocket ROMs
They are CWM and close to stock
Because they are CWM they are basically zip files so it is easy to extract APK
Or search the forums for info on extracting from TAR and zimage

Gb stock or for example cm7?
Stock Gb: you will need stuff in framework to get it to work, and no-one will do that
Cm7: just install

I have s6500d with firmware s6500dxxmd1 . I rooted and remove some aplications from samsung that i don't used (chat,e-mail,hangout etc.) and i odexed with 4.2.2 universal odex script from development section. I have some questions for you :
1.Can i do something to improve the perfomance ? (Not the perfomance in games , the perfomance in overall , to be more smooth).
I dont wan't to flash cm 10.1 because i like touchwiz functionality.
2. How to install framework and system.ui for stock 2.3.6 because i got force close . I tried with zip in cwm and manually push-up but always force close. Here is the link about framework.apk and system.ui.apk that i wanted on stock s6500dxxmd1 odexed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094636
Or i can't to push this because i odexed my rom ?
To be more smooth use a custom launcher (tw is laggy, not device
Thanks for advice. I have odexed rom with 4.2.1 script , i want to push-up framework and system.ui modded to look like jb but i got force close . Modded framework and system.ui give force close because of odexed rom ?
Dont know that. I use holo launcher and is smooth.
Im not familiar with odexed and deodexed rom features...
Use nova launcher. I use it on my mini 2 and on my tipo, it's very smooth.
