How much battery does Motorola Connect use? - Moto X Q&A

Have anyone noticed any significant battery drain using Motorola Connect?

I was wondering the same thing.
Sent from my XT1056 using xda app-developers app

It shouldn't use any more battery. I've never noticed it. In fact it should use less battery because you don't have to turn on the screen to reply to text.

No, your messages pop up on all computers with the plugin enabled. Are you really interested in Motorola Assist?

Not really that interested. Its just useful to know.

Motorola Assist uses gps and may drain your battery, but Motorola Connect uses your WiFi and should actually save battery.

I think you're confusing the two.
Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk 4

I know everyone is saying it should save battery but I don't believe it does. It is constantly sending text/call info back and forth. I noticed what I thought was an increased, otherwise idle drain, when I had connect active and was using my computer to view/respond to texts.

I think this might not be a Sprint thing, but instead a Google Wallet app issue. Might be because the phone is so new and may not have passed testing yet. I would expect an update to fix this soon.

It's funny you say that. Every time I go into a 7-Eleven or McDonald's, I whip out my phone and pay with Google Wallet, and every single time the person behind the counter is like, "What'd you just do? Did you just pay with your phone? How'd you do that? Yaddie Yaddie Ya"

Ya, its worked fine on my evo lte and s3 forever. Sprint does not block it so I'm sure a simple build.prop edit would get it working until they get the device supported

sure hope a support is granted fairly soon. i used google wallet all the time with evo lte and i'm missing it quite a bit. according to a sprint rep i spoke with prior to purchasing the htc one, it will be supported so it's only a matter of time.
if not within a timely fashion, i guess a mod to the build.prop should suffice. i remember doing this when the evo lte wasn't officially supported.

MMS compression gone in 4.3!

So I went and sent a couple pictures today to my wife and noticed that there's no longer a mandatory compression the MMS you send. Anyone else seeing this? It really took Sprint this long to lift that?

I was getting stuff for my daughter's birthday party next weekend and was sending her pictures of stuff I was getting. I noticed it was taking forever to send, then I realized it was because they weren't compressed anymore.

I don't MMS often but recently found out SMS Pro slapped like a 2mb limit when I tried sending something. REALLY hating that app, they keep getting rid of things to force people to pay for these 'extras'.
What SMSMMS app do you guys user? I guess I can use the stock app for larger files but it only does pic/video, plus I'd rather use one app rather than switch between 2.
