Awesome news on my week off. I'll tinker with my Android Minix Neo 7 for a day or two until devs build their 4.3 ROMs.
Wow this really is awesome, HTC says 4.3 by end of September and 10/2 it's out? Hat's off to HTC, that's excellent work.

To flash a custom rom, you need to unlock your device via htc-dev. I'll put a tutorial video link below.
If you already have the 4.2.2 update, don't worry about new firmware for now. Otherwise, you don't need S-OFF depending on your CID to flash the custom 4.2.2 rom and firmware.
To do a rom swap, you don't need new firmware unless it's a newer base which also got a firmware update from htc
More details about firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823

I think it's not needed, but I'm not 100% sure on this one.
I used 4.3 firmware on 4.2.2 before, but it was a custom pack (this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391611) so I'm not sure if the official one would work
Seems that every single GPe KitKat ROM that I install gives me random reboots at the setup screen, my firmware is of the 4.3 (sense 5) and I am s-on

Hi Im having the same issue, my phone has an unlocked bootloader. I tried to install 2 different kind of 4.4 GPe roms and both times its restarting at the setup screen, where it ask for the language to use. Is S-Off different from unlocked bootloader and did the s-off with rumrunner fixed the issue? Thanks
I have s-off and have been but I couldn't install any of the 4.4 Roms and it caused crazy bootloop where recovery wasn't even an option thru fastboot or anything. Had to ruu out. Miserable day yesterday with a g2x lol. Think I might try to run the ruu for GE 4.4 tonight if I find an easy how to so I can play with 4.4 too.
I'm thinking it has to do with the software date too since I was s-off and got a fail also. I was on the original 1.xx T-Mobile software.

Hey! Yes, unlocked bootloader and s-off are different, here's a link to the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2487888
First, if you can sideload a ROM, do that and enable USB debugging on it before you run the tool.
Then, all you have to do is click the download link, download the 0.5.0 zip, extract it, then run the .exc file with admin permissions on your windows 7 computer. Be patient, it WILL take a while.

Sunshine may not be compatible with the latest update. Your best bet is to run the RUU that was just released within the last couple of days. That will get you the latest firmware. You do not have to be S-off to run the RUU but you will have to re-lock your bootloader with the command fastboot oem lock. The RUU can be found in OMJ's RUU thread in the development forum.
You may also try downgrading your ROM to the version that matches your firmware version, and then try Sunshine. What is your current radio (baseband) version?

Probably would be better off flashing one of OMJ's stock rooted 4.4.3 ROM's, honestly, although Sunshine should work on the version you listed. I've seen at least one report of it not working on software version 3.31.
