Brief history: I bought my Kindle Fire HD in November 20012. It was the first android device I had, so I did not know anything about it. My first search was for rooting, thing that I could make with the help of this forum. From that moment I started reading the forum because everything was new to me and interesting. Meanwhile my rooted kindle worked fine until at some point began to turn off alone. With help of some people of this forum, I was noticed that the problem were gmail notifications. I disabled the notification and the problem was fixed for several months . . . but after that she started doing it again.
There began -also with the help of people on the forum- an odyssey of endless tests, install and uninstall apps, upgrades, downgrades, battery calibrations, etc. until I decided to install TWRP and flash CM 10.2. Of course I learned a lot in this process and I am very happy with CM 10.2.
But what which leaves me sad, very sad and frustrated, is that remain turning off arbitrarily and randomly!!!!!
It can spend two whole days working fine until battery is low, but it can also happen that its turns off every 10 minutes. It is totally independent of the battery charge, although it tends to do more when it is around 50%!
After that, sometimes I can turn-it on normally, but sometimes I have to try 10 or 20 times because she turn off again while charging system.
If I plug-it (to wall or PC) she normally turns on and does not auto turn off again (while plugged).
My latest finding is that if when she turns off itself I shake-it vigorously I can then turning on normally. It's like there's a loose connection or something like that.
As I'm outside the U.S. have no chance of sending it to Amazon.
I really appreciate if someone have some idea about this problem.
I want to thank again all those who given me very good suggestions. It is thanks to them that I learned a lot.
I edit to coment another thing. When I use Corpse Finder from SD Maid, it detect 3 files: .adobe-digital-editions; kindle and Digital Editions ( the three placed in: /storage/emulated/0). No matter how many times I clean it, they always are found in a new corpse search. I don´t know if that its relevant, but is strange to me.
The same problem, HELP US

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, I DON´T KNOW WHAT´S HAPPEN. Can you fix it?
i have heard occasionally around on the forums of peoples power buttons and such doing this after a while, if that is the case you might be able to test for it but its kinda complicated. Is it sleeping or shutting off? If it's shutting off it would be interesting to see why but you'd have to have either a logcat running on the pc the entire time, a cat of the kmsg, or something of that nature running and turn off while its doing that, then you can find the root of the problem. If it won't do it while plugged in, cm has a way to wirelessly do adb commands. I think hashcode said in his sources theres a test binary for the buttons to see if they are doing anything, but i'd have to figure out how to cross compile it by itself if thats the case, unless its precompiled.
Yes, cassualy I fix it last week. I open the Kindle, looking the wires and conectors and close again. And voila . . . fixed!

Hi everybody, I'm new to LG, this is my first LG phone since my original LG Vu many many years ago, and i have a couple questions. I've searched everywhere here on XDA and a couple other forum sites, as well as general google searches. First off my Flex is on 4.2.2 and it doesn't seem I have any way to update to 4.4.2. Whenever I try the update from my phone it says "your phone is not registered" and when I try with the LG computer software it just says my device is up to date. I've seen the not registered error mentioned a few times before and I tried the suggestions given, like getting a new sim card and doing a factory reset, but no luck. I've seen a few people mention that they flashed the update manually with something called LG Flash Tool, but I cant find any info on that whatsoever. My model is the AT&T D950 by the way. Secondly I am having absolutly horrible lag with this phone, specifically list scrolling, mostly in apps such as Google+, YouTube, and Facebook, all the reviews i read before getting the Flex said it was super smooth, thays why I got it, so is there something I should so, or is lag like this normal? Because I can't scroll through YouTube or Google+ without it hanging every couple seconds. If anybody that has more experience then me with this phone or LG in general could help me out with these or just point me in the right direction, that would be greatly appreciatex.

If you are on AT&T, take the phone to the store and have them update it for you. If you are on another carrier you will have to manually flash the update. As for the lag, I have also just got the Flex and I have not had any lag, but I have always done a Factory data reset before I do anything else.

Yeah I'm on AT&T. Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately nothing seems to work. I've tried downloading the LG PC software from their website but it just tells me I'm up to date, I can't find any info on how to use the LG flash tool thing, and I just went into 3 different AT&T stores, one of which was a device support center, and they all said they have not way to flash the LG G Flex because LG stopped supporting the tool they had to flash it with so it no longer works. So it looks like I'm stuck on 4.2.2. It's a shame really because I really got this phone to test out LG before the G3 comes out to see how I would like it since I'm up for an upgrade, and I absolutely LOVE it, but I'm not dropping money + a contract on a phone that might have issue upgrading the software, I mean we already wait long enough for android updates on non-nexus phones, but then even when it's available you can't update it because there is some sort of issue between AT&T and LG servers. And the worst part is it's not just me or this model phone. I have seen tons of people having the same issue with G2's and G Pro 2's but nobody seems to be able to figure it out. It really suck. But thanks for all the tips and help, like I said I really appreciate it!
Just want to give an update for anyone else that has this issue and might come across this thread. After going to 2 more stores, getting 2 more new SIMs, and 2 more factory updates, then spending about an hour on the phone with tech support with them trying to "push" the update to me, then another 2 hours on chat support with them trying to "push" it to me, I am no closer to any kind of solution.
Just another update, AT&T filed a case and I can now check for software update through settings, and it tells me an update to 4.4.2 is available, but once it downloads the update fails, it tell me my device is suspected of rooting and software update is not available for my device. My device is not, and has never been rooted. So I don't know where to go from here. This is the most frustrating thing I have ever encountered in my 4+ years with android lol. My next phone will definitely not be an LG phone, which is a shame because I just got this one to test out LG while waiting for the G3 to make it to AT&T.
did you buy this new?
isnt there a warranty from ATT?

Can you post a screenshot of the message you're getting that says your device is suspected of rooting?
Yes I bought it new from an AT&T COR store. Yeah it has warranty, I actually just went to the support center and exchanged it after explaing that it has never been rooted or else I would post a screenshot, I didnt even think about doing that, I remeber the error exactly though, I must have tried it a dozen times. When I went to software update it said a new update is available and I clicked yes to download, after it downloaded it rebooted into that LG screen with the cartoony hills and stuff and it said updating 0% for about 2 mins, the in big letters it said ERR:0x0011341, and it rebooted back into the ROM and everthing loaded up, after about a minuter I got a popup that said Error: Your device is suspect in rooting, your device is not available for software update, then any time I tried to run software update that popup would come back up unless I did a factory reset, then it would start the whole thing over with the same results. Like I said, I just got a replacement and am downloading the update now, I'll post back and let you know what happens.
Its not that unusual for a phone to get hosed when trying to download/install an OTA update.
Is is unusual for a message like you saw, about being a "suspect" for rooting; I don't think I have ever heard of that before..
All that matters is you got a new phone, so thats a good thing
Yeah i thought it was weird too, the weirdest pat was i did the return to stock from the other thread here just to see if that would fix the issue and it still said the same thing, it even did it after factory resets, like something had been tripped and couldnt be reset. Im no stranger to rooting, I've been doing it for years, i just never did it with phone cuz there isn't a whole lot you can do with it. But the new one just updated to 4.4.2 no problem so the issue is fixed. It was all just really strange, i found a thread here from another person getting the same error on a G2 http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...tware-update-not-available-rooted-device.html

I'm having this same issue, but I did root my device. I completely unrooted it, and tried again with no luck. I thought it was me. Looking forward to hearing if you have success with the replacement. If so, I'm definitely taking this guy in. ?

Hi all
I am not technical and am not really sure what to even call this issue, but have done numerous searches on this and other forums over a few weeks and am not able to find anything like it. I'm sure there must be, but because there is nothing onscreen to help identify the issue I don't know what to search for next.
I few weeks ago I got a message to upgrade the O/S. I didn't do it at work, as my reception there is pretty lousy. When I did do it I had good reception. When it had finished, it then wanted to install. I left it until the next day, when I was home again with a strong signal. It commenced installation but when it got to 91% it rebooted and started over again. This has been happening ever since and the only way to stop it is to remove the battery. I've tried leaving the battery out for several hours, draining it, and all the different kinds of reboots but nothing helps. I was able to get it into download mode, but then it got stuck in there. I was able to get it back to the other screen and don't know what to do now.
The only thing on the screen is a standing android guy with a blue polyhedron rotating in his belly, and an upload percentage. It always restarts at 91%.
I don't want to mess anything up, because this is a borrowed phone - after my previous two Nexus 4s chucked it in. I ended up having to send the first N4 back to Google and lost everything on the phone, but the other one has a lot of data I really want to keep, so I won't do that again.
Is anyone able to help me with this issue?
Altotude
Hello everyone,
As the title says, my tab s6 860 just stopped detecting my keyboard case out of nowhere, last night I just leave it on the desk like I usually do, and the next morning as I was going to use it it just wasn't detected at all. I tried reboot, turning it off and leave it like so, I went as far as doing a factory reset with no luck
I've read that for some people it worked after any of those steps, but so far I'm out of luck... I think (or hope) for this issue to be software related as it was working fine Andis not as if it fell or anything.
Also, I read Bout the possibility of this issue to be solved via an update on the keyboard firmware, but the problem is that no one seems to know how to trigger that update as it just happens when the tablet detects the keyboard. Somewhere in the Samsung forum someone mentioned that this update is managed by an application named Applinker, but there is no way to manually trigger it for it to update the keyboard firmware...
Please if anyone know how to solve it or have any possible solution or suggestion, let me know.
You most likely tried it but don't see it specifcally mentioned so just in case, you also tried removing/reattaching it? (Pull of/click on?)
Mine every now and then seems to loose connection as well but just popping it of and on usually fixes that.
yeah I tried that as if there were no tomorrow and it didn't work at the time, but it start working today, like I tried all morning with no luck, and during the afternoon I tried attaching it again and it just worked....I'm glad it works again , but it's still a pain not knowing the root cause of the problem
Ok, so here is to explain what happened, so you can have a clue what am I talking about.
I bought Galaxy A71 a month ago (give or take), so out of the box it had Android 10. The phone was working flawlessly. Battery life awesome, pictures from camera great, etc. So, few days ago on March 26, 2021, an update to Android 11 came in. I am a tech nerd, I know about phones, rooting, flashing, etc.
So, I saw that I have around 78-80% of the battery so it was enough to download and install Android 11.
Downloading and installing and optimizing apps after went smooth as silk. I usually soft restarting my device after any software update, so I did that after the installation of Android 11 was entirely finished.
But, this is what happen when I restart my phone the normal way. I press and hold the power button, the dialog of Power off, Reset and Airplane mode came out, tapped twice the reset button and phone went restarting and just.... died. I remember that when I soft restarted my phone, the battery was on 72%. So I tried any trick in the books to turn on my phone again like combinations of pressing buttons, then with USB cable, charger, etc, but nothing was responsive. It's like the phone was clinically dead.
My phone is still under warranty and I will probably end up taking it to the T-mobile store, but the point of this thread is to inform others of the situation like mine and see if someone else had the same problem?
Maybe someone will post a solution what to do in situations like this?
If I find any solution, I will update this post with all the details.
You probably done it.But have you plugged it into A computer to see if the computer can detected it?

Yes i did, nothing shows in Device Manager. As I said, I tried every possible trick to wake the phone up, but it was unsuccessful.
I end up taking it to the carrier store cuz it is still under warranty. They told me if they can't fix it, they'll probably give me a new one or to wait for Galaxy A72 To arrive in 2 weeks. We'll see what happens.

Least you still have A warranty to help you.
Good luck with it.Hope you don't lose your data if it's still on the phone.

They fix it, it said it was software problem, got stuck on rebooting. I get it today (2 weeks later) and it worked. They managed to turn it on but without a factory reset, every app was there, every picture, video, contacts, call history, etc. I don't know how they did it, but they did. So when I got my phone back I tried to restart it normal way, long press of the power button, then tap Restart and again restart. The phone restart it without a problem. I was happy. Then later that day (2 hours ago when I'm writing this, I notice that always on display when i touch the phone screen will show up but doesn't switch off after 10 seconds (I set it up like that), instead it started to blink in intervals like i was touching the screen continuously. Then I did a deep soft reset. You know, when you press Volume down and Power button at the same time and.... got the same problem again. Phone is non functional, none combination of pressing buttons worked, just like i describe it in the OP. Just for information, I did the same on my previous phone Galaxy A7 2018 and never had this problem. I did it on this phone too, never had a problem. Then I remember it that on both phones when i do that and not having problems were running on Android 10. this phone now update it to Android 11 and that buttons combination is probably bricking the phone. It's just a thing I notice. So I am planning to call the official service that fixed the phone how did they do it, so maybe I can do it myself too. I don't want to wait for another 2 and a half weeks.
I am facing the same issue. And I think my warranty is out. Did you get to ask them how can you turn it on yourself!!
I would really appreciate some help here!
