still with original FW, Eclair 2.1 Update 1
I wanna upgrade the FW into froyo [2.2]
the question is, HOW???

IMHO this would be a good thing to put in the XDA-Developers wiki, rather than forcing newbies to search through a lot of forum threads which causes confusion. I agree that everybody should be diligent in using the search box before asking questions, but it's still not ideal. Also, sometimes things change from time to time (e.g. GOT releasing updates) and then it's even more confusing to use the forum threads as references for "how to".
I would like to work on it but am busy with a lot of other stuff at the moment...next time I install a new ROM I will try to write a step-by-step wiki article (if anyone else thinks it's a good idea?) or at least put a link in the Milestone/Droid wiki page to the relevant forum threads.

[Q] plz help: im new to android and want to flash a new room?

hi all
i changed from my hd2 to galaxy i9000 and it been 4 days now and im wondering in the department of android development and i read many things and expressions i don't know what it mean , like : apk , wipe , cm7 , sdk ....etc
and i didn't see a full guide for how to flash a room in galaxy s , may be it exist but i didn't find it , i don't want to do anything and result in breaking my galaxy
so please can tell me in details how i can flash a new room " mine is 2.1" with full details and links of the files needed and post me any thread have any idea to let me know more about this new world of android for me
and please tell me which the best room i can use which give me good performance , and good battery life

Rocket ROM Installation for Starters

Hi,
Got a galaxy note with baseband version N7000XXKK5 and kernel version of 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKK5-CL726566. I'm totally new with flashing ROM such as this on android and I'm just wondering if somebody could provide with the instructions and tools to get me started specifically for Rocket ROM?
I am a returning xda user from the good old times of WinMo on htc touch and htc diamond

Rocket Rom installation is not different from any other Custom Rom one.
First thing you have to do is, sorry for this....., STUDING.
Note is a really expensive phone so, before modding it, take some time to understand what you are doing (I followed Note's forum for 1 month before rooting mine), becaouse with modding you can:
• lose your warranty
• brick(=destroy) your NOTE!! (this can 99% happen if you don't know what are you doing...).
Ok now let's start with real advice:
1) Start from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325369&highlight=efs (ORIGINAL EFS folder is ESSENTIAL for Samsung warranty)
2) Root your Note http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 instruction on the second POST
3) Go to Rocket Rom page and follow instruction http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380284 (Dev of the Rocket Rom eybee1970 stopped updating this fantastic Rom so , by now, don’t expect further update)
My last advice is READ READ READ and SEARCH in XDA forum, 99% of question you can imagine has just been asked.
XDA is a really great place to understand, but you have to put some effort into 
BTW…welcome to the great community of NOTE’s Owner, probably the best Android Device.

hi every one. i am noob developer in android and even i dont have any android sense, am a windows phone pro user just shifted to android couple of days ago. i bought a phone so called galaxy note 1
its model number-SHV-E160L
pls help and reply my questions am noob in android and will become a pro grammer every soon just help me out in some aspects
1- can we flash SHV-160l?
2- how to flash whats the procedure?
3- we used octain in windows to flash windows phones is there any other software to flash from pc or its directly flashed by internal storage by linking its kernel in safe mode?
am a software engineer so help me out i will help you guys very soon just tell me its basics

This version of Note has a different hardware. So this is the wrong forum (and you double posted in the other forum already).
If you search for your device in XDA you'll find many threads related to that question and with no results.
If you want to know how to flash an android device: read the tutorials that are sticky in every forum of every device. No need for the next spoon feeding...

I can put my GT I8200N rooting, that succeeds, but the rest I can not because I do not know what I need and what I should do.
I want a new Rom on my fone.
which actually combines I need? and how i do it?

i suggest u do a little searching around the forum, there are good tutorials available. each rom has different attributes so it is better to find one that suits your everyday needs, best rom questions are not allowed. so, (quick guide) find a rom u like, d/l & install twrp 2.4 or above, do full backup,follow installation instructions for rom.....carefully......dont want your 2nd post to be "how do i unbrick my fone".....lol

Thanks for your comment, but that's the problem, my english is not so good that I understand everything, because it goes through the translator of google.
But will look around, I had already done, and did not come out.
