At the moment I am running Monkx essential rom.
I would like to change my baseband to the one from the 2.67 update because my network reception is poor.
Everything else I would like to keep
Can anybody help me to get the latest baseband from the NL version of 2.67 and how to change it?
Thxs in advance

You know you can flash any baseband as long as it's from the same model. I flashed the Hong Kong one and it's working fine in the UK
I tried with flashtool,it flashes but baseband keeps unchanged.
What should I flash with it??
Is it maybe related to which kernel I use?
This is the kernel and baseband from .67 flash it with flashtool but exclude the kernel if don't want to change it.

I think the Baseband is much important in a Rom. I tried Lots of Baseband for me the best XXKPK. Someone telling XXKPG and the other one XXKPM etc. For example my phone connect with 11 Mpbs with KPM , 36 Mpbs with KPK in my garden same position.
Is there any app or something to try and get real results?
This should not be something relatively or the Baseband is not personel for me good and for other bad.
Lets make something with this Subject together.

battery drain is also very dependent on baseband. so do you want the one with best battery drain, best reception or best balance?
the baseband of the latest firmware which is via kies available in you region should be the best
for me the lastest XXKPM it has not changed to a lot in the several signals, the only obvious change is the 2G that now it goes very faster also in the switch

I can confirm that, esp. for 2G
also battery drain is bit better now (before stock and KPK)
and call quality is better and that is what I like most of the new baseband. Less noise.

you can try some basebands here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001#ROM_parts
and you can flash a stock rom to get another baseband:
just register and search here for i9001:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
or download here without account:
https://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9001
or use this firmware download tool:

KPM and the whole new stock ROM is made for regions: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom
All Stock Rom's:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948790
The usual modems are in the bottom of the 1st post. Worked all fine for me
For you, ZSJV1,,
I'm using XXKPM and it works like a charm for me. Don't know if it's a placebo or not, but i feel the wifi signal better when i'm far from the router, and also 2G is faster. Also calls are better. Less noise.

I lately installed 4.1.2 X-Bean 3.0 , kernel version 3.0.45-Semaphore_JB_2.3.0. I have no network (Mobile network not available). I live in Macedonia T-mobile sim card. How do i fix this problem.
I had cm10 4.1.2 and everything worked fine...
Thanks
hey
Im currently using apocalypse rom and its running pretty good on my ace.
I read a post saying that its better to install a different baseband (XXKPT)
im abit confused cause on my phone info now it says baseband: S5830NEKT2 and version 2.3.7
but the xxkpt is 2.3.6 ?
so shouldnt the 2.3.7 be a better baseband?
There is no need to change the baseband unless you are having any problems in the rom because of it.
The baseband change referred in the apocalypse thread is for changing the region of the firmware, not the version. You may use 2.3.7 for you region, but if there is any problem with the rom that a reflash or fresh Odin install is not solving, or due to app 2 sd scripts, then you should try a firmware from a different region, it has helped many people.
If the region(firmware's) you are going for has a different version then you have no choice but to downgrade.

thanks for the info. its much clearer now!
i did want to try a different baseband because of the app2sd bugs on the one i have.(with link2sd and amarullz)
It seems quite straightforward to flash another baseband with odin so might give it a go.
is there anyway to bkup the one i have now? or to find a download link? had a quick look on sammobile.com but didnt find the one i currently have(S5830NEKT2)
You can make a cwm backup, but i don't know if it backs up the baseband or not.
i mean if you restore this on another firmware then you will get this baseband back or not, i am not sure about that.

Just flash the cwm zip for baseband or also known as modem...it will only change the baseband then...but i don't see much need of doing so because it's seldom that baseband causes problems...

Try some baseband with V20g in name, instead of V20s (different fw combatibility I suppose).
I am using these
LGP990AT-00-V20q-EUR-XX-JAN-24-2012+0_AP FW
LGP990AT-00-V20q-EUR-XX-JAN-24-2012+0_CP BB
BB is 1035.21_2011075
as it was the one the phone came with originally and works well with it. Beware that some FW/BB combination are not working well wor some phones. No pattern, it is individual.
check if your imei is not damaged... sometimes when flash a rom, it can to be damaged

TRY THIS. thanks to tonyp for such hardwork and sincerity to O2X community
and never forget to use the search function mate
Hey,
first of, sorry if this has already been asked (and answered..) But I tried my best searching all the sub-forums.
Anywho.
I'm not sure if I am imagining this or not, but after updating to 253 my wireless and cell reception has become worse. Albeit I have quite poor reception in the basement, but the phone looses mobile and/or wireless connection all the time (and I'm positive it didn't do that before, at least).
I have tried both the Indian version and the Swedish version, but they both have the same baseband, i.e 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQ-30110041-23. I am located in Norway, but I figured the baseband will at least be the same for both Sweden and Norway(?). I have not looked at the 'Nordic' version yet tho.
I have not checked if the baseband of 434 and 253 actually differ, but I'm thinking they do. Currently I'm running Carbonrom, so the question is, is it possible to flash just the baseband of 434 onto Carbonrom (provided they're not the same that is..) and should I try to find the Norwegian-specific ftf?
I've been doing nothing but flashing different roms these last days and I think I'm going to cough up hairballs if I have to re-install and customize the rom to my liking, yet again. So I just want to be sure before doing anything (un)risky..
regards,
me
Yes you can flash the baseband separately with flashtool.
And yes 434 has different baseband than the new update.

Yes you done it correctly but you wont see the difference in "about phone".you need to change some system files to get the right info but not necessary.
All you have to do now is checking if you have better signal and connectivity or not.

Hi,
I'm using Paranoid Android 4.5 Alpha 2 and I wonder how to update modem baseband to latest version without losing my actual configuration and ROM.
Is it possible?
If so, can you tell me how and what do I need.
Thanks by advance

why do you want to flash baseband?
Because I have issues with phone calls.
So I would like to take advantage of the latest baseband that would maybe fix those.

it might be an operator issue/rom bug.
dont fiddle with the baseband
It's not an operator problem.
So I suppose the problem is from my side (phone).
I used to have a Nexus 4 and ROM and baseband are 2 different things that you can flash independently.
Are you sure it's not the same with Xperia Z?
I already saw some topics with titles like Baseband Generic US something. But I did not find any Generic FR at the latest version.

You can download the french firmware and just flash the baseband from flashtool
Edit: Why dont you try EU firmware
I found out one topic for generic FR latest firmware and I used your trick flashing only the baseband.
Thanks!
Now I will see with the time if it's making my phone work better.
