Hi teamHTC,
Your thread has been moved from Xperia Z1 General to Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting. Please post in the correct sub-forum in future.

Do you ever search before posting? Also, this question could have been asked in your original thread that again you didn't search before posting. Not many threads in the Z1 subforum, not that hard.

I think the op should get banned or a warning at the very least! He always makes new threads even though there is already an open thread with his question.

I would agree with you if the threads didn't already exist. it is pointless to have multiple threads on the same topic. kthanks.

Frustrated devs, re: Polluted dev forums

I don't mean to be an ass here, but I, for one, would be happy to post all my questions in the Q&A section...but looking over there at the numerous questions on just the first page there are probably less than 100 replies, cummulatively, for all those questions. I've posted over there a couple of times and never got an answer from a Dev (the ones that could answer).
So, would you wiz dev and pro scripters please go over there every once and while and answer some questions, please! It would certainly help keep your forum more clean, which I agree, is out of control.
If you ask in the dev's original thread, you often do get an answer and keep from poluting the dev forums.
I'm just going to say it. This belongs in Q & A.
Most of the questions people ask are thread specific. If they would just read the thread that pertains to the question chances are it will be discussed in that thread. Now if it is a question that has not been talked about in their dev thread ask the question and they will respond. These guys have lives and are not solely on XDA 24/7

The "Search this thread" option above the thread actually works pretty well. For those of us who can't read 300+ pages of threads looking for an answer.

I agree, that's why some members keep asking on DEV section. No buddy you're not being an ass I understand your frustration.
As someone else stated, if you have a question about a specific thread in the dev forum, then ask it in that thread. Also try the "Search This Thread" option to see if your question has already been asked/answered.
I know some of those threads grow like crazy, but that's where those questions belong.
The devs do this work on their own free time and only get some donations from members. Most of the time I think they mainly monitor their thread or try to help out in other dev threads.
If someone in the community knows the answer and checks that section, then I'm sure they'll point you in the right direction too.
As a mod, I'm trying to keep the dev forum a little cleaner by moving stuff out of there...and IMO, having a General forum and a Q&A forum is a little redundant because lots of stuff in the general forum turns into questions.

How do I POST replies in DEVELOPMENT Forums?

I have an Atrix 4G and a fair bit of knowledge on it. These forums are really good, but it would be useful if I could reply to threads in the atrix development. I have answers and questions, but I don't know if I need to be approved or something like that in order to post in the forums.

Since you are past 10 posts now you should be able to post there. If it still doesn't work in a few hours, then you might ping one of the mods in that forum to take a look at your account and see if there is some issue there.
You need 10 posts to post in development forums, which you can find out more about by looking at the links in my signature.
The server only updates permissions periodically so yours may not have been changed yet, but you have the required post count.
I've had a look at your posts and you're not a typical "10 post spammer" that we see a lot of in here, which is greatly appreciated, but it's still worth a reminder about the following things.
Don't create threads in Development forums unless it's to release software. Questions go in either a relevant existing thread, or a new one in the Q&A forum (or General forum if there's no device-specific Q&A forum). And on that note, always search thoroughly before asking. Nothing irritates other members more than seeing the same questions asked over and again.
Anyway, just bare the above in mind and go enjoy the forums. I'm just glad I don't have to delete a bunch of pointless posts

Yeah man I just want to contribute. Do I need a "thanks" or something like that ?
Also can an admin "approve me" or something like that? My only other question is the five minute between post wait can that be removed? For example I'm just waiting now to send this reply, it's no big deal, just wondering.
Also I posted a thread here asking basically the same question, I don't know how to delete it, but here's a link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1783730

Nope, its not reflected by Thanks Meter. Just 10 posts is decent enough. For deleting/closing that Thread, you need to contact the Forum Specific Moderator assigned to that Forum.

At the top of each forum the mods responsible for that forum should be listed. I was suggesting to send one of them a PM, but Archer answered you here.
I got it. Thanks for the help I can post now!
@mf2112 thanks it's working fine now I can post replies !

[Read before/after posting Q] Basic Courtesy/Responsibility!!

Hello New users!!
I have been browsing SGN forums from last one and half month or so and observed few things in Q&A section- One- users does not change title of the question thread even if the issue has been resolved and it confuses people and they keep on posting possible solutions (just waste of their time in my opinion)- So, if your issue has been resolved then please add "(solved) or (Resolved)" in your threads title, also post/mention/highlight the solution which helped you, so that it can help others in future.
Second- Please do not post questions in General section, Q&A section exists for a reason
Third- Please try to search before creating a new thread, at least check the sticky threads in all sections and you will get lot of answers there only, at least for rooting and flashing and will save us from lot of unnecessary threads
Last but not least- I am not sure why people hesitate in clicking "thanks" button, I have seen lot of post like "thanks a million" "you are the best" etc but no click on "thanks".
"Thanks posts" are not allowed on XDA, that's one of the points of the thanks button and if you'll click on thanks then it will definitely motivate and encourage those people who are always ready to help others and put lot of their time in it, I think best way to show your appreciation is to click "thanks".
Note- This is my personal opinion based on my observation and does not mean at all that anyone here is against questions.
How to change title of thread- If you wish to change the title of your thread then follow these steps-
1. Go to OP (post #1) and click "Edit/Delete'
2. Then click "Go advanced"
3. You will now get an option to edit title of the thread.
4. Change it and then click "save changes". Done!!

It's not the thrid, it's first, which should be sticked at the top of the forum, 7-sized in red, with warning of death penalty. Half - at least! - of the Q&A section is spammed with questions, which has been answered at the stickies, or destined to be asked at the stickies.

Post in the correct section for god's sake!

I'm wondering, is it really that hard to post in the correct section? Here are some threads that should be in Q&A, but all were on the first page in General when I copied their links:

That is 12 out of 20 threads (the stickied ones were not included) on the first page that weren't posted where they should be.
Also, I noticed that most of these threads were started by people with none to very few posts... Connection?
I sense that this thread might get closed for some reason.
The threads that I linked to should be closed/moved, or the newbies (mostly, some senior members as well..) who haven't yet developed the ability to read will soon post every single question they have in General...
My suggestion is increasing the post requirement before you can post in General.
A. Volunteer to become a moderator and hand down infractions or use the report post button.
B. Do you think you have any sort of authority over others and or think you are perfect?
C. Do you realize that your whiny post HAS NO PLACE HERE? (As does my response)

B: The OP is correct, the Q&A question exists for question, this one for general discussions. Where did he say he's perfect or above others?
C: Why not? He has a fair point. And I don't see him whining. What is your problem?
But I don't agree: Raising the post count for the General section is not a solution.
Maybe a new closed stickyied thread "This section is NOT for Questions you have, use Q&A for that" might help.
Reported my own post and suggested it to the mods.
Cheers.

Because the Q&A section is a no-man's land where no dev ever ventures. Trying to push the new guys that come here to the fringes is not the solution.

Apart from the fact that I and a couple others in fact ARE scanning the q&a section every now and then for questions which are lacking an answer and are not covered in any of the other threads:
That's not a valid reason to post in the wrong section. Especially considering the kind of questions linked in the OP which are pretty often already covered multiple times all over xda.

you're wrong they answer the questions that never been asked before if your question doesn't answer so search it first before creating a new thread if you search for an hour so search for a day and if you can't find it and you search for almost a day that's the right time to post don't post anything because you only want to reach 10 post to be able to post in developers section

The thing is when I go into the Q&A and see a bunch of old threads I am gonna think like that. I didn't talk out of my ass but went to the section and that was what compelled me to answer. The problems of this forum imo are solved with active moderation. Things like warnings, thread deletions and relocations. Until that investment is made we will be suffering this kind of problems.

[Q] Why won't the Xperia TX get its own sub-forum?

I searched, but the only result from the forum was a thread about suggesting a TX sub-forum, and the rest of the results were just random XDA articles about the TX.
I ask, because one of the admins/mods just closed a thread without any explanation as to why it was an issue. All he/she said was:
The
Xperia
TX
Will
NOT

A
Forum

That response says it all, and if you read that thread it is explained fully

I don't see why you want a sub forum?
doing that will shrink the already scarce developers for the phone, where as Ive seen on the MAJORITY of threads ive read, the developer is happy to modify for TX
I don't necessarily need a sub-forum for it myself. I'm just wondering why bringing it up is akin to asking to murder a child on xda forums.
That admin/mod could have explained why it's a bad idea (even with a copy and paste) and then closed the thread. Instead I just sense a lot of antagonism directed at the people who posted in that thread.
Go back to the closed thread, read it again, every post at least 3 times, and maybe you will understand why it has been closed. As Greg already said, it is explained in the thread.
Now you can either keep spamming this thread with an already closed issue, or read and try to understand.

Actually that very same person already explained the reason:

Why we do not have subforum ?
Why we do not have JB update ?
BECAUSE !!!!
So why do you bought TX ?
That's the question !
Stop crying !
OP first this thread moved to the correct location...Questions in the Q&A...
As outlined by others, some homework from the thread you questioned, would of gotten you the answers, hence not needing to open a new thread. Moral of the story, search #1 Rule...and #15 also of the Forum Rules. Thanks.
