Hello,
may be it's not on the right section.
I've a problem with my operator ATM, it 's hard to have a good quality in voise on 3G.
In my previous phone, i could force network on 2G, but on Z1 i can only force 3G on network choice.
Is there a program to only use 2G until the operator repair his network?
Thanks in advance.

I share this tool in case this possibly help somebody.
I use a french operator called SOSH with CM10.1 (NX Kernel) ROM.
Everything works fine, except the tethering.
Tethering started on my Note, my tablet is connected, except that it can not access the internet.
This seems to come from the IP tables. So I developed a small tool to correct them.
If you have the same problem, try to install the APK and start the application.
When you activate the tethering, allowing ROOT rights.
That's all ...
You can view the status by running the application.
Should work for WiFi and BT.
Tested only on CM10.1 with SOSH. I do not know if the problem occurs on other operators.

Guys,
I just got my unlocked D5803 compact today and put my T-Mobile SIM in it to test, and I've got this app called "cell information" running in the status bar in the upper left. I It just lists T-Mobile and the time I put the SIM in, however I can't get this icon to go away. I am missing something stupid?
Thanks,
Y2J

This worked! Thanks! I wonder why the heck they have this enabled. It doesn't do anything or give you any information. I don't remember seeing this in past Xperia Z phones. This is build 23.0.A.2.93. I believe this is a Latin America variant D5803, however it the packaging is in all English.
hi guys,
i'm from italy and i've a contract with the H3G operator. Ultill today everything worked fine, but today i was looking for a way to change the frequencies to let my cell work on the LTE network. I've read a few pages of the thread about it here on XDA , until i found the message of a user saying i could change the values by typing *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer and setting them by the menu. I've tapped for an error the USA frequencies and of course i didn't have signal, so i thought to try one of the displayed ones, and it apparently works with the AUS2 band, but i think it works only in 2G mode while H3G works only con 3G bands so at the moment i've a device working almost on wifi only. Of course i can receive and send calls. Is there a way to fix this? i've reinstalled the rom but i think it had changed something in the bootloader. I remember the guy on the topic said that this method had problems with cyanogenmod 11 and 12, and i'm on CM12.1. I'll try to flash a cyanogenmod 10 indeed

EDIT: nevermind! thanks to a user here in CDA i've fixed it! apparently in the CM12 they didn't put the entry "automatic selection" or something like that, so i had to downgrade to CM11, change the selection to "automatic" and then reinstall the CM12.1 ... i hope it'll help someone else in the future
Hi there,
I'm posting this here since it was the closest forum I found to my LG 70 "variant" (LG-D320g8)
Could anyone help me why this device is not recognizing my 5GHz WiFi home network?

I also have an LG G3 and that phone is not having any trouble getting connected to my wifi router transmitting on that band.
TIA.-
PD: Both phones are rooted in case this helps

You really think that cheap LG 70 (LG-D320g8) would have the hardware to support dual band wifi?
I'm using an unlocked model and the "5G" (not UW) on Verizon is much slower than the 4G in my area. Is there any way to disable it?
It's 20mbps vs 100+mbps
Just go into network and change from 5G/4G/3G/2G to 4G/3G/2G

Mine doesn't have those options.
A lot of issues with 5G and it's implementation both networks and on phones.
Rarely does it justify its existence except in limited areas. It's also a known battery hog even if not in use. Blame Qualcomm's bum rushing for that.
Avoid any 2 chipset solutions for 5G like the plague.
At first I had minor regrets of not having it on my 10+... now I'm damn glad I don't!
Try this
From play store download the app "Phone by Google"
Open the app and dial *#*#4636#*#* it's gonna open a secret menu,go to set preferred network type and change to LTE/CDMA/GSM/WCDMA
