[Q] Cyanogen rom with good camera quality and battery life - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hey everyone.
I've tried slim bean and another cyanogen rom, but the problem was the camera quality was really bad, but battery life was , tbh, great, about 30% higher than stock rom, which I am with now..
Does anyone know a good cm rom with good camera quality ?
Also, I dislike the cm UI, is there any cm rom with LG UI ? I know there are some for samsung for example that have touchwiz, does it also exist for our phone?

There is LG Launcher and Galaxy S4 Launcher and Xperia Z1 Launcher for CM 10.1, and Camera Quality is not bad. Download Camera Hack for CM 10.1 and install LGs Offical Stock 20a Camera ported from iodak. Wow you must search very careful (attention "sarcasm")

Even though you were being sarcastic, thanks for the answer, I think I'm really going that way, even though MHL is a **** on CM , due to the always-portrait bug

agreed on stock the mod does nice job. but really , i think we need a new phone soon hahaha. but before we get the new we must "burn" the old one . overclock it, change kernel , change rom, maximize its everything. then when its useless its time for new phone

[Q] Porting MIUI Framework with Look and Feel to Cyanogen

Hi Guys,
after about 2 Hours of searching I'm trying this way
Is it possible to port the Framework with the Look and Feel of MIUI (including Launcher, Lockscreen, Lockscreen with Incoming Call, and so on...) to Cyanogenmod? Maybe not the launcher, LauncherPro is quite Perfect
I really like the MIUI Lockscreen and also when getting an incoming call but theres no theme to get this look.
I've tried to replace the whole framework in Cyanogen with the one included in MIUI but this gave me only Bootloops and I'm not really familiar with Java Code

why don't use just use miui rom , it's cm based ...
i also love the LOOK of miui rom, but its not as good as cm.
for one its based on quite an old rc 1 for our 2x, then the cammera sux there (but that can b changed), also it manages storage in some weird way which suggests that i dont even have an external sd, also i can not get my mobile data on any version of miui working. its sad, i really love the look. but cm is just better.
@xilw3r , I have long been on the CM, for some time I went on MIUI (1.9.30), it's not worse than the CM, I can say to you

I beg to disagree on this. I used MIUI 1.9.30 for about a week, and in the short span of time, I've had more issues than I've ever had all the other ROMs combined. It tends to lose data and/or voice connectivity for no apparent reason. It also forced a hard power-off while it was connected to a charger and didn't want to power back on until I pulled the battery out. I've never had this issue with the stock, leaked ROMs (e.g. 20e, 20i), or CM.
I love the look and feel of MIUI but its stability leaves much to be desired.

I'm sorry that you meet the problem, I have no problems with this MIUI 1.9.30
I've tried MIUI as well but I have to agree with the guys, it's not good as Cyanogen. MIUI isn't as fast as CM and for me it wasn't really stable to use.
Also I had a hugh Battery Drain in MIUI and this is a No-Go for a daily-driver...
Yes muiu is very much laggy compared with cm

most likely because miui use the cm7 RC in stead of the NIGHLTIES
I like MIUI..
But still not stable..

I´m using Miui 1.9.30 Roadrunner Edition (german) and since the newest update it´s ****ing fast!
I had CM7 on my last phone but now i won´t give Miui away
I'm using MIUI 1.9.30 netDrg EXT4 + VorkKernel + tweak Pack from Owain94.
Today I tried to test the latest CM (7.1.0 stable), and..... my MIUI is most faster
Miui is comvienent to use, but so much slower than CM... :S Had lots of issues to install owain's tweak on miui. Miui was always lagging when placing a widget on the laucher. :S Just felt bad after CM.
For some reason, I had a lot of issues with 1.9.30, but I decided to give another shot when 1.10.8 was released.
I am in an awkward situation where I am forced to swallow my own words written only a few days ago. It's fast, stable, and best of all, very battery friendly. I went through the whole day (14+ hours) with 45% to spare. That's the best battery life I've seen out of this phone with any ROM.
I don't give a whole lot of credit to the synthetic benchmarks, but it does really well on the stock MIUI/CM kernel. I am consistently getting 3700+ on Quadrant and 930'ish on Vellamo.
Anyone can port it?

Should i sale my OB or not giv ur advice

Hi Guyz
I like playing with custom roms & mods recently i use optimus one than Defy i enjoy both of them than i got OB i bought this just bocz its low cost with high specs but after entering to OB thread i saw that there is not much dev here for our OB and very few custom roms available for us after spending 2mnth my favorite rom & his maker lives his job i m taking about Knzo i m really so now i m got offer from 1 person on net to exchange his galaxy s i9000 with my OB so i need some advice from all of u guyz what should i do?
Thanks for ur valuable time for reading & helping me
I really don`t think that guy offerd you his galaxy S for your OB just because OB doesn`t have so much dev support, I think he did it just because OB it`s a better device and in a short matter of time will get much more custom roms than we have right now. we almost have CM 7.1 working now....I`m using it as my daily use right now and it`s awsome. be patient, OB will be a great phone
I used to have a galaxy s i9000 and i was pretty happy, but i know this same feeling is approaching to our LG OPTIMUS BLACK...and i can barely wait for mui roms, cm7 roms...and later on gingerbread update so....stay tuned....
the best for the patience one
just wait for the complete CM7
I have this phone and Samsung Galaxy S2 although GS2 beats it in every test
some odd reason I prefer the Optimus Black and it will be so much better with Gingerbread so my advise is be patient like the rest of us
I think you shoul keep OB it's great and have so many native features that you don't need to download this and that to make those things [i.e. screen shot] even the factory rom, kernel, etc, are good I don't have any of those just rooted it and works pretty awesome actually
If you love to play with roms I think you better go with Google phones like the Nexus ones. Otherwise, keep the OB.
Hey, be patient, wait stable and fast CM release
Yesterday I find a way to take 3500+ in quadrant It is a very nice score. OB look very nice, and has a briliant display, anything is good.
Thanks to all of u guyz today i found a Chinese website over there i found many custom roms for OB i m downloading now lets see how its works

Give a try of this phone man,
for this price i dont think it is a better phone at the moment Its really nice build quality really
May be thats only me,but i really dislike the feel of a Samsungs for now wtf
The difference is like You take example: cheap amplifier and the nice Onkyo one.... you feel it really when use the device itself or an Acer compared to Thinkpad
I hope this will change with Nexus Prime
I am not a gamer,so for me its ok for now and cant find that combinationrice+4 inch great display+nice build quality+verry stylish+rare look(i mean everyone have HTC,SGS,iPhone)

[Q] best rom for only phone usage

Hi guys, I got this phone for free with bell mobility as my 2nd phone for my business line. I'm going to be using this phone only to make phone calls. No internet, ever. No wifi, maybe some bluetooth once in a while. No games, no apps. I have a Galaxy nexus for that.
Which rom would be the best for good battery life?
Thanks guys
Talking about the battery life and from personal experience,I would suggest using MIUI rom. The battery lasts for at least 2-3 days(for me) with normal use(wifi, music etc),so should go a far way if only used for calls.
Alternatively, if you prefer Sense UI,I've heard good things about the battery life of Android Revolution HD.
Finally,it's always best to just test several roms yourself in real life situations for several days, and then picking the rom which suits you best.
after playing with it a bit I'm not a big fan of sense...
I'll give miui a try, thanks

What version of MIUI do you use? There are so many I was going to wait for the updated galnetmiui ics one.
I would take the CM7 Nightly#146 and edit the .zip file and remove all the .apk files from system/app that you don't need.
That will give you a very light ROM.

Im not exactly sure but I think CM( by szezso has an issue with the camera. if you dont mind the FFC not functioning. Then I think the Camera should be alright. I am sorry I cannot post on the battery life.
I think u should give viper a shot. I used it on my trip and it was amazing. Battery life is good, rom is practically bugless, and it is as smooth as butter. I had to survive off a 3g connection but if u got WiFi, experiment between ARHD and viper. Never tried ARHD, but it has a good reputation.

But only PACMAN from your list is JB 4.1 or above. Isn't there a big jump in better performance with 4.1 with the Project Butter thing? Also, PACMAN seems to pack a lot of features in. Doesn't this affect battery life significantly?

just because PACman is jellybean (with Project Butter) doesnt mean its superior. PACman has its good number of bugs (as with all CM10.1 (based) ROMs for our device). How good a ROM is, is not decided by how smooth or fast it is. Its certainly a sizable chunk of it, but u also have to take into account with bugs. For me PACman had pretty bad battery life for me. :/ in fact all the CM10.1 ROMs screwed over my battery some how or wouldnt connect properly to PC :/ For example, it would charge painfully slow or would just entirely stop charging all together at around 60% or so. PACman doesnt seem to like my computer very much or something cuz half the time, my computer nor PACman will show that the phone is detected despite the phone being charging FROM the computer.
@OP: I would suggest Nik Project_X_Rebirth. For me its the best for battery life. On top of that, the rosie is extremely smooth (smoother than CM10.1 for me). I keep my phone on all day with good number of texts and several calls. If I dont play any games (or very few) one full charge can last me 2 or 3 days which Im extremely satisfied with. Plus u got the Sense 5 icons (which I really like )

Which ROM for my wife?

Hi, I bought L9 so it's time to give my old good Optimus Black to my wife. This would be her first Android, so I don't want let her down.
Which ROM would you recommend for her?
Basic requirements:
- SUPER STABLE (no SODs!)
- Camera with good picture and video performance
Preferable:
- Good battery life
- No lags
Doesn't matter:
- GPS
- Gaming performance

I guess he is talking about the OB Well I d still opt for stock GB. Seems rock-solid to me, fluid in normal usage, good cam, battery always was good for me as well.
