I jus did... But ...?!?! I don't know why it worked...plus I thought a prompt window was supposed to pop up when u ran RUU ... I've seen a few vid when ran from pc...? Coming from the world of Nexus so this wasn't really an issue...we would jus flash stock img via fastboot...

This isnt running a RUU. This is just running fastboot commands on a mac, same way as running them on linux. Do "man fastboot" or just do "fastboot" to see all the commands that can be ran.

But he's running a ruu zip in vid tho. I'm familiar with fastboot and adb commands on a Mac... But read u can't flash RUU zips on Mac Cuz they are only compatible with PC...?? I honestly have no clue ive been on a nexus device for the last 4 yrs so this is new to me. In the past I would jus flash stock IMG via fast boot to return to stock for any ins PR service probs

Rom.zip from RUU_file
the only way to flash a Ruu in bootloader using Mac OSX is by extracting the Rom inside the RUU_file.exe, to do this you have to use windows, open/run RUU_xxxx.exe (just open it and leave it open, by doing this, windows will create a folder inside TEMP folder) and look for Rom.zip inside TEMP/ folder ... you have to look for it inside some long named folders, just look for a folder with a big size and you proly find it inside, then use the commands in the video to flash it

not available
The youtube video says "not available"
Can anybody briefly tell me what the video says?
Thank you

Need help unrooting!!!!

Please help!!! My charger port broke and I need to unroot to take it to Cellular South to see if they can fix it. I am running CM 6.1 and I rooted with Z4root. I saved it on my phone with Titanium Backup. When I click on it all it says is root. Well i figured if I try to reroot it, it will recognize that I am already rooted and then give me the option to unroot but all it does is reboots and reinstalls the current ROM. When I go back to Z4root it says the same thing, root. I also was going to get the original RUU from Cell South but I can't hook my phone up to the computer to finish the process cause of my charger port is broken. Please help me!!! If I failed to give you all the info you need, let me know and I will give you the missing info. Thanks in advance!!!
have your tried running the ruu through adb using adb wireless?
How do you do that?
I downloaded the RUU from Cell South and tried to install it from recovery mode but it just went back to the current ROM again.
there is a progam called adb wireless.... havent done any of this myself but i would guess its the same as running the ruu in adb connected through usb.
check here for ruu commands in adb
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688820 the app is in market i do believe
hope i not confusing you or leading you down the wrong path but is just an idea you can try

You don't run an RUU from recovery, or from the phone at all.
Do you have fast boot working??? If so there's a zip you can flash from h boot to return to stock.

Isn't fast boot where I press and hold power button and volume up? If so then yes it works but not sure how to use it. The only thing I use it for is when is says (menu) Recovery. I use it to send me to recovery mode sometimes.

What is this androidsdk I keep hearing about? I actually got help rooting with the good folks from phandroid forums. Maybe y'all use this androidsdk in your rooting method and Phandroid does not and I'm missing that and that us why I can't figure out what y'all are talking about. Just thinking...
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Give me a sec to boot up I'll post you some links on how to get the android sdk. Adb wireless wont work without it. I've never used that app so not sure on how it works. And fast boot is when you have s-off. When you hold your volume down and power before you hit the button for recovery it will say in the top left hand corner or right, if you have s-off or s-on. To use fast boot you have to have s-off.

[Q] bootloader unlock issue

I have a nexus one with stock ota 2.3.3 gb and ive been trying to unlock the bootloader.
I installed the android sdk to my computer as well as the appropriate drivers for windows from the sdk.
in the command prompt when i type in fastboot oem unlock i get this message, "The program can't start because adbwinapi.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
I can tell that obviously there is a file missing somewhere but i dont know what went wrong and why that file would be missing
so my question is does anybody know what i should download again that contains that missing folder so maybe i can correct the issue? im not sure if i have to install the sdk over again or the drivers or maybe something else that im missing. I followed all the instructions step by step to unlock the phone so again i dont know exactly what went wrong. Thanks in advance for any help i might get
I think it's in the platform-tools addon...

[Q] repair my nexus one with fastboot ?

Hello, I have brick my phone I want to flash firmware through SDK using fastboot but when I try "fastboot flash" I have "signature verify fail" error.
My n1 is root with stock rom but I don't have a custom recovery so Fastboot is the only solution but it doesnt work
And when I try to flash 2.3.3 rom via recovery I have an error with "framework-res.apk"
help me please
Fastboot only works when you unlock the bootloader - which you obviously didn't do.
If you can boot to ADB shell and have root - you can install custom recovery. Look at my signature, I guess it'll be clear. Use flash_image method.
flashing a recovery didn't work. I have the same error "signature verify fail"
and adb shell say "device not found"
The probleme is the adb driver
No its not.
Load up bootloader on phone.
Fastboot devices.
Fastboot OEM unlock.
Fastboot flash recovery recover file name.Ingram etc.
Either unlock bootloader or try passing method. Also read the other posters post. He told you what the issue was already........read wiki as well.

Download this file and place it on the root of your SD card. Make sure it's named PASSIMG.zip and then boot while holding volume down. It should flash FRG83 and then you can root again.
can i load that file to my sd card through adb?

Not if you cant get past the bootloader, you'd have to take out the sd card and put it in a card reader.
in my opinion the best method is the one albundy gave. You will not end up in this situation again if you fastboot oem unlock.

I sold my Nexus One a while back, but around version 6.x, there wasn't much Spanish left. Everything is fast and there're numerous options to customize through SupSetup. It's a great ROM, and I'm sure its better now than when I used it.

Rooted htc vivid help needed..

So i have a rooted htc vivid and today my battery died today and now my phone will not boot up at all. I can plug in the charger and the charge light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off.. It did this once last night and came back on after pulling the battery. Died today and cant get it back on...help me out please someone..
We followed Slapshot30's Superguide by doing the following:
HTC Dev Unlock - confirmed
Followed step 2 but got an error trying to update recovery
Used the Supertool Method and confirmed root with Titanium Backup
Tried Flashing a couple different versions of CWM to no avail.
Now we are at the current situation, unable to even boot into hboot by pulling battery and using power/vol down method.
At a standstill now
Edit: Oh and I helped him root this phone. I've rooted both my OG Evo and my E3D.
Edit #2 - Got it to boot into hboot and now the phone is booting up normally. Anyone know why it would do that? Also, does anyone know where I can find a download for CWM that I can flash through the bootloader? When we try to go to the recovery now it just goes the the screen with the red exclamation.
Are you able to flash the PH39IMG from the superguide? It's really easy, just put that file on the internal or external memory and boot into hboot and the phone will automatically update to the newest recovery.
If that doesn't work you cab flash the recovery using the other guide in the superguide, the one involving flashimagegui app.

Sometimes when I have an error and can't seem to figure it out I like to re-start at least a portion of what Im working on with a clean slate and make sure I did everything correctly, cleanly, etc.. but that's the programmer in me coming back out after years of unintentional suppression

I need help returning HTC ONE back to stock

Hey y'all. So, I accidently deleted everything on my internal storage when I was messing around on TWRP. I've downloaded ADB and the RUU. 1.29 file to return to stock, however it doesn't work because I need 1.31. I know I need to turn S-OFF, but I have no idea how to go about this considering every time I mount my phone, my computer doesn't recognize it. So I was wondering, what should I do to fix my problem? If it helps I'm running windows 7 on my Mac using VMWare Fusion.
Anyone? lol

You need stock? Or just to get back up and running?
To get up and running.....
First download a Rom and recovery (TWRP)
From adb type fastboot flash recovery recoverynamehere.img
Boot into recovery
In TWRP go to Advanced > ADB Sideload
abd sideload romnamehere.zip
To get back to stock....
Here is a guide to RUU on 1.31 if that's what you want to do.
