Your problem is more than likely either a corrupted SD card... Either internal or external...
Or bad media files on internal or external...
Easy fix?
Back up both cards and use recovery... NOT FASTBOOT... To format them... Or mount in recovery and let windows... Or G-Parted on Linux reformat them... Then restore your backup...

Ok... Wil try... However i am afraid of these things hv caused d issue
1. Mayb my phne motherboard has been affected
2. Maybe radio chip is nt working properly
3. Android virus (highly unlikely, bt still a possibility)
I am frn india, n still nw ti these things, so qm scared to death

OK... First... You don't have a virus... A virus destroys hardware...
Second... Until you do the steps I have laid out... We can't really go further... We have to squash the issues one fix at a time...

I don't think the boot.img will fix your media issue... However if you are looking at stats right after a boot... It will be high because that's when the media scanner runs... Which is the process in question...

Not excatly, bt with data on, or wid wifi or blututh, its draining battery more than b4. The media service is back bt with undr 10% cpu consumption. Will test more a day or two and if d problem stil persists, wil flash a 4.3 rom to check further. And wil u pls explain y flashing boot.img wont help?????

[Q] OFFICIAL STOCK ICS PROBLEMS for note!??

Maybe its just me!!! but I find that after updating to ICS 4.0.3 on note the ram usage is always quite high, as always around 600-700. does anyone else have this problem ?
Another problem i find is the lag in the camera? like when you take a picture and then scroll through picture you've taken, after press the back key and it lags for a while before returning to home screen..
PLease say it isnt just me
p.s Ive got the TGY(hong kong) version of ICS officially from kies!!
+1 i oso got problem is the ram...it is very high...higher than gingerbread...any suggestion??
Suggestion:
go to a cm9 build ROM with a "safe" kernel as well.

Just a word of warning....a factory reset or any kind of wipe could hard brick your device on official samsung roms.
Don't wipe!! It could trigger the eMMC bug and possibly brick your phone if you try to flash anything. The best advice is to flash a safe gb rom using pc odin and wait until a solution comes out.

I presume that your screen was off during much of this time? I am using the LPY build and use my note for prolonged book reading. With the screen on auto brightness I am lucky to get 6.5 hours with all other data services running.

I thought brick problems was caused by cwm wipes, i dont think.the emmc problem is being experienced by those of us using stock.only? ?? I have looked at quite a few threads and it appears to me only people who root get the issue may be wrong but i peesoannly think.stock only should be safe

I think likewise, there is one case of bricking using the wipe in stock recovery (XXLPY if I didn't remember wrongly), but the person has rooted his phone using Dr Ketan method (temp cwm + su-busybox installer), so is still not a pure official stock rom imo.
I just finally upgraded to official ICS and using LP9...
So far everything is buttery smooth.
Just a question.. Is doing a factory reset (under Backup & Reset) the same as wiping thru the Recovery Mode?

Beg to differ.. On official ics upon factory reset its unlikely that one would hard brick the phone...

Rom ICS - screen don't wake up

Hi,
I have a problem with my N1. I installed a evervolv's rom with ICS. Everything is ok, but when the screen is locked, and i want to unlock, the screen stays freezed, but the sensitives keys are on. I have the same problem with the Jelly Bean rom.
I read that i have to change CPU, but still doesn't work.
Someone has a solution ?
Thanks

Your first question no one can answer yet. Time will tell.
Yes you can flash the wifi version on the 3g tab.it will work without 3g functionality.
Make sure you completely charge your battery (with tab switched off) before flashing to minimize problems!
also do a complete wipe (factory reset) before flashing!
you don't have much to lose just try it!

yes im agree with you.. if the problem still persist .. make the battery drain in recovery mode, then charge in standby mode until ROM says 100%..
wait until 2-3 cycle and see the behaviour..

[I9001] battery problem

I have this problem on my galaxy s plus, but the i9000 has the same battery so maybe you know the anwser to
Anyway. My battery acts strange. When i am not charging, the battery icon keeps flashing: charging, not charging, charging, not carging.
Like i put my charger in and out very fast every second
Problem is that my phone wont go in deepsleep and that the display wont go off (because the display goes on when you put your charger in your phone). So the battery drain is huge!
My main question: is this software or hardware related?
P.s. i flashed three different roms (full wipe) and everytime same problem.
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda app-developers app
It must be a software problem !! Like virus .....
Try this steps to fix it :
1- remove external sd .
2- format your internal sd card from setting .
3- flash another rom.
Please reply if it work ^_^

Try cleaning your USB slot, its likely due to moisture , where its shorting externally or internally , caused by vbat to vbus shorting

The battery drain was due to bug in Play services, recent update has resolved the issue to a certain extent
If rooted then you can install wakelock Xposed module.
For keyboard lag there was an update for the keyboard few weeks back try updating and see whether it resolves the issue.
For SD card issue check this thread

There you go:
Does rooting void warranty? How's anyone ever gonna know it was rooted incase the warranty is going to be needed? I doubt they analyze each phone that much.
Regarding the keyboard, sometimes it lags a bit. Especially if it has been running for 24 hours or something. I've made a Tasker profile to "reboot" my keyboard app every 8 hours to keep it responsive.

Battery drain - The battery drain is caused by Google Play Services, which is not under Sony's control.
Keyboard lag - I had this to start with. It went away after a few reboots, along with most of the other lags in the settings etc.
SD card write - Not a bug, or anything that will be fixed by Sony. External SD permissions were changed by Google for security reasons and OEMs had to implement them or risk failing the certification for Google apps. Root and use something like this app to make the external SD work the same as before.
Edit - I see this has already mostly been said. When I entered the thread it only showed me one reply, then the others showed up after I posted. Strange. ?

It's possible that OTA updates might fail, as a system file is modified. You will always be able to use PC Companion/SUS to update though.

OTA updates might fail, or they might work. It's hard to say 100% either way.
When starting an OTA update, a check is made on the system partition of your phone to see if files have been removed or modified. It depends what is checked during this process. I have no way of knowing what a future OTA update from Sony will check, so we'll have to wait and see. ?
