What is this app used for?
Have you ever tried to share Whatsapp Messages and made a screenshot, censored and edited it, resent it, whatever.
Have you ever wanted to share all your Whatsapp Messages or just single Messages via Email, Facebook, Twitter, Viber, whatever?
Now this app is for you. It will allow you do extract all Messages straight on your device. It will decrypt crypted backups on a non-rooted device or the uncrypted full database on a rooted device.
It will restore thumbnails, let you allow to choose your own database (for moving from one to another device) and it will allow you to get DAILY reports via email.
This means that you can set up an interval and get (for example) all 12 hours the full database via email.
If you just want to try it out in a very lite Version use Whatsapp Extractor Lite
Modify Database
Is it possible to modify database?? When restoring whatsapp it automatically take your profile picture which is used previously as well as your display name by itself. Can it is possible to change if it is stored in database so that one can alter it and can change profile picture without altering last seen status.

Are there any apps out there that allow for rule-based management/organization of SMS messages?
Specifically, I'd like to have a whitelist of users that can send messages that conform to some rule, which triggers some sort of event. Ideally, I'd like to be able to somehow parse the SMS message to add data to another program on the phone (or for simplicity's sake, add an entry to the task list). I figure if the program I'm looking for can simply export the message as a file to a directory on the phone, I can easily write a quick and dirty little app that simply monitors that directory for new files, parses them, puts the data where it needs to go, and then deletes the file.
I've read about SMSOrganizer/SMSCreative, but was hoping someone out there knew of some other options I haven't yet discovered. Oh yeah...and if the solution's free, then all the better!
So I decided to try flash another ROM, and this time I thought I'd try backing up my personal data using the Microsoft My Phone service, just to see how it works. As well as that, I made a complete backup of my phone using SPB backup.
The ROM flashing over, I attempted to restore my old sms messages to the phone from the server, and the My Phone application DID appear to download them. However, upon checking my inbox (as well as every single other mail folder), I found nothing. Delving a little deeper, I was able to find a couple of pre-ROM-flashing messages using the phone's built-in search function; when installing My Phone, I let microsoft text me the link, and a search for 'my phone' illicited the old text message. However, the search function does not allow for me to trace messages back to their location, and this message (even after being opened) did not appear in the sms inbox.
I haven't lost anything because of my other backup, but if possible I would like to find all of these loose messages floating about somewhere in the memory banks of my Xperia. It would be nice if Microsoft got it half right, like normal. Does anybody have an idea where to start?
Hi there, I just want to know if there is a way to restore my sms backup done with Backup for Root Users from Hero 1.73 builds into the new 2.XX (2.73 or 2.83, mening JACs 1.7r2 or 1.5.2) builds. I know how to use terminal or Gscript. The problem is that if I restore in any of the new 2.73 or 2.83 builds my sms application get screw the moment I receive a txt. I guess that the way to handle the sms database on the phone change from 1.73 to 2.XX builds.
Notice than when the restore is done I can assess the old sms without problems. All conversations are there and I can see them. As soon I receive or sent a txt I can no longer see the conversations in the messages app. I don't even get the chance to see the new txt. The only thing I get is a notification with the leds, but no notification in the top bar, sound or anything else that a txt arrived.
I can see still see the old txts in chompsms, but only the old messages, not the new one that arrived. In the messages application I can not enter any conversation because it hangs in a loading screen.
Backup for root users create a mmssms.db file that is restored somewhere in the phone. Maybe this is just a simple problem of having the right permissions on the database file. All that know some linux knows that the improper permission on a file can make a huge difference. I am far from being an expert in linux nor android so if someone can help me fix it will be awesome.
Notice too that I have tried using fix_permissions command using the new file from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=549463) before and after the messages get screw with no luck.
Hi ellopr,
I have encountered the same "loading screen" problem when restoring sms from the old builds to the current new hero builds. This is what I did to solve it:
the logcat reveals this missing table field "index_on_sim", thus using a sqlite editor, I compared the old mmssms.db and the new mmssms.db files. The missing field in under the sms table so all one need is to ADD the new field "index_on_sim" with type INTEGER. Upon careful observation, this field is used with value "-1" for incoming sms, not for outgoing ones.
Thus, I used the following sql commands:
1. to check for the correct index_on_sim rows with non-empty service_center info
=> SELECT sms.index_on_sim FROM sms WHERE service_center IS NOT NULL
2. to modify the above index_on_sim rows with '-1'
=> UPDATE sms SET index_on_sim = '-1' WHERE service_center IS NOT NULL
okay once done, verify that the rows are updated correctly and save the db.
push the edited mmssms.db to the Backup for Root Users folder or directly into /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases.
That's it! Your old sms will appear in the new hero build.
Attached is the sqlite program. ( To be used in linux/ubuntu )
im not rooted but looking for a way to backup all messages from a single conversation in my Facebook messenger on my android , anyone know how ?
even a simple txt document.
id prefer this way or a select all and copy on the computer.
i can't go the route through settings where you download a copy of the file.
To backup these messages to computer, you need to get a way to exprot them.Do you have any ideas for it?
Hi everybody.
I'm trying to use WhatsTasker plugin to automate my Whatsapp messages: Tasker Schedule Whatsapp message with Whatstasker Plugin - YouTube
I know this is very old plugin, but it still works fine while sending messages to individual contacts. However, I have issues with sending messages to groups. I know we need contact ID and I obtained it from mgstore.db file. Individual contacts get mesasges sent with WhatsTasker just fine. But when Im sending messages to groups, I can see in my Whatsapp that the message was sent, but other group members are never getting it. Killing Whatsapp and relaunching it changes nothing. I wonder if anybody of you succeed in making it work? Or maybe you know any other way to send automated messages directly to groups?
Ill add Id like to do it with screen locked and turned off, of course with root access.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT:
I've found another solution with querying Whatsapp database directly (link at the bottom), but I can't get it work...
Although the OP's task doesnt work with groups, it seems that other user successfully updated it to support groups as well. Anyway, in my case the task is always end with Error 127 when running shell action, regardless if I try to send message to an individual contact or a group. I'm not sure if I filled everything as it should be... I'm not that skillful.
Could somebody try and tell me if it's working for you? Thanks in advance
