The best audio setup for the xperia T - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

I am wondering what people recommend to gain extra volume mainly from the xperia T but also for sound quality improvements
I have no interest in gaining volume or anything from the internal speaker, 90% of the time my phone is connected to something via bluetooth and the other 10% of the time via aux, I just want to get the most from my device with whatever options there is out there
I have noticed that this phone is significantly quieter than an iphone 4s for example when connected via aux even with all volumes set to max, I also feel as much as this pains me to say it the SQ was much improved on the iphone in comparison to my xperia t
I listen to rock/indie 90% of the time and want to achieve the best setup for this type of music
I currently use the stock Walkman app 6.0.A.0.13 is there a better music player?
I also see mods like SonyTBlastAudio V2 but I cant quite get my head around what these do? Is this just a mod to get more volume from the internal speaker which would be useless to me?
Thanks in advance for any recomendations anyone can make to me for getting the best audio from my xperia t

Audio Booster issue

Is the Audio booster issue fixed with the builds after build 35 ?
The issue is that my music plays without bass when using headphones or connected to my car audio system.
When turning off Audio booster, start playing music and then turn on Audio booster again, my bass returns.
This is really annoying to repeat these steps each time because I use the mp3 player functionality a lot.
sound issue
I think it's a general problem with the sound, once you go into screen saver, then stop the music, then go back to it, the sound levels have no base on it's quite annoying. The way to get around it, take the headphones out, turn on the device, reselect the music, put in the headphones and play.
I wonder what is causing the music to be so distorted. I'm on the latest wwe build
How did HTC manage to release such a buggy phone?
In the past all of my HTC devices have been great but this Diamond has me appalled.
It crashes, gets very slow suddenly for no reason, gets uncomfortable warm to hold, attracts fingerprints like crazy, has an unusable media player and now we have to do some stupid sequence of headphone unplugging and tickbox unticking every time we want to play some music!
This is the official relase, not some grey import with an unfinshed ROM...
Plleeeaaase someone work out how to get the old style Audio Manager working on the Diamond... Won't fix the bass problem, but at least I'll be able to access my music how I want to...
Same problem for on my phone, with rom 1.37
I though it was a headset issue, until I read this thread.
Veeery annoying bug
I've got it too noticed today. When the base went I thought the headset socket was at fault as if I moved the plug just slightly the audio would cut out completely.
However, I turned Audio Booster off, restarted and turned Audio Booster back on and all is well - even wiggling the cable so it's not a hardware fault there.
However as soon as I plugged into my PC by Disk Drive mode and went to listen to music after - it was back again.
Certain little things are really starting to rub the shine away but I do love the phone overall.
i'm sorry i have wrote this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402845
but i think now is the same problem..
how can i delete new thread??
thanks

I have this issue now for the first time and tried your fix. But still i have a lot of treble and the bass is gone.. Can you make a better step by step description?
Already found out:
How to create the bug:
- Play your music on your headphone
- Turn on Audio Booster
- Plug off your headphone and continue on your speaker
- Plug in your headphone again and your bass is gone.
How to fix?
- Stop your music
- Turn of audiobooster, and save the settings, not close! (so your headphone have to be connected)
- Start your music again and your bass is back!
- You cán use Audio Booster again now, but i won't!

Just download SRS Wow 1.21, it is miles better than Audio Booster, you dont get any of those problems and it will make the music sound better than it will on any other portable device... yes, it really is that good!

not working with my diamond
Me neither, I installed it but can't find how to launch the program, even with a soft reset and the registry modification
Edit: The program is in (settings) -> (system), but doesn't work: "There's no WOW HD driver loaded" and exits
Is there still no resolution for the Problem? This Bug makes the device almost unusable for me

Not working on my Diamond either, but I didn't try to edit the registry. Because I'm not able to edit it.... Tried PHMRegEdit.msi but I'm only able to read the registry on the phone, not able to edit. Any suggestions?
You could try CorePlayer. Full equalizer AND preamp....
Music sounds awesome. Really does.
But it doesnt fix the problem at hand. For example, when using the RCE100 headset, the FF/RW/PLAY etc only controls the built in HTC player, and not CorePlayer (or SRS WOW, etc)
It really really sux that HTC have not fixed this yet. I giess we are just waiting for the worldwide release of the diamond to complete (so that the whole world will get pissed off) and then HTC can concentrate on fixing the bloody device!!! I still love it though....
omg...
i thought the headset was crappy.. but i rmbed the first day.. when the sound quality was good and the next day it suddenly lost the bass..
so i tot i gave yer method a try..
switched off the audioboosetr after pausing the music
and walla..
its bassy and clear..
to think i paid a sum for his buggy phone... i love the diamond.. but probably the last phone from htc i ever gonna get...
Why does actually DISABLING the audiobooster help here? How screwed up can this probably rather simple piece of software be?
Geez I wish I had a stock HTC Diamond instead of my O2 so I could bug their customer support sufficiently with this issue.
Is there a way to get rid of the audio enhancing feature completely? After all it seems that earphone-audio is way better without it anyway?
Of course there is. By default the Audio Booster is switched off. It's a 3rd party app and not something that is actually built in to the HTC Player. Get a decent set of headphones and music will sound really good without it. The actual music playing abilities of the hardware (software aside) are really good and for someone who is a music junkie, I'm happy.
I am happy too. Juste have a look at the price of my headphone (westone UM2) and you'll understand that when I say HTC + AudioBooster + good headphone = best MP3 player sound quality i have never had (compared to sucky Apple's sound which is as the external speaker if i compared)!

[Q] [Mod]Use Second Speaker on Xperia Z for Stereo Sound (Like Tablet Z)

Hey Dudes/Dev's
What i want:
I want to Create a Mod which us allow to use the Front Speaker+Side Speaker for Stereo Music
See Attached Pic...
I have tested the Loudness of the Front Speaker and i think the Volume Level is nearly the same to the Side Speaker!(?)
I want to let the Music play over the 2 Speakers like:
Front (Call-)Speaker=Left Audio Channel + Side (Loud-)Speaker=Right Channel=Stereo!?
Click to collapse
Steps:
-1. Find files which include the Speaker config. Maybe lib-so files?
-2. Find the right way to edit. Maybe i can compare the files between Tablet Z and Xperia Z to find the diffrence?
-#. Edit files to -> Playing Music-> 2 Speaker's active (2 Channels Left-Right),Call Option1-> 1 Speaker active,Call Option2-> 2 Speaker active
-3. Find a Way to make both Speaker's to the same Loudness Level
maybe more...
I really don't know what's needed for this so Please Help!
BR
Good idea
Another excellent idea, though sound when watching movies is allready pretty good, true stereo imaging would be a massive plus.
Good luck with this

To bad that here is still no Dev. Section for things like that. This Thread will go fast to the last pages, and no one will see

Sounds like a good idea but then again, earpiece is not nearly as powerful as the main speaker and can result in funny stereo audio lol FYI, the stereo speaker positions are a bit weird
In order to achieve in what you want, we need to route all audio playback to play on two channels which is the earpiece and speaker at the same time. We can either do this on a specific configuration file or kernel modifications. I am not sure how to do this as I haven't tried before but it's a start
It's too bad that Sony did not make two speakers positioned like the HTC one... Would of been epic...

wow didnt see you Replied to this thread nice to hear from you...
It's really bad with the Speaker Position... sometimes my right hand mute the Speaker
but back to the idea... it's like you say,the Earpiece is not really Powerful (It's a really Clear Speaker, but no Bass) so you think it's not loud enough for stereo? Maybe we can use it to Support the other speaker (more Virtual Sound or such,i think you know whats good )
The Point is still to find out how we can use the second speaker :crying:
the only idea i have is to find the related files and watch the same files on a Stereo Speaker Tablet to see what we need to change...
when it works we have really found a General Mod for a lot of Devices with low Volume Speaker Devices.

You won't find any related files which will route your speaker and earpiece together.
We need to re-route the audio playback with earpiece and speaker activated at the same time to make both speakers to sound like stereo. If you compare with Tablet Z, you will not find anything because the configurations for that is to route audio playback to both the speaker components and if we do that then it still won't work because we don't have that 2nd speaker.
If we can re-route the speakers into stereo, then we can manually increase the earpiece to make it sound as loud as the main speaker
This is just an idea remember, I don't actually know how we will do this
Any progress on this excellent idea?

[Q} How to increase overall volume output?

What would be an effective way, without rooting the device, to increase overall output of volume, i.e. earpiece for phone calls, speakers for speakerphone and audio/media, and headphone jack. I might be going deaf, but this is one of the quietest phones I have had.
Install Viper4AndroidFX.

Hey there.
I suggest you install Viper4Android FX to increase your overall volume output. It has several options to modify the way sound is reproduced via headset, speaker, and bluetooth audio sources. The only requirement is a rooted Z3C. Cheers!
Please hit thanks if it helped!
I don't have one but there may be a boost in the menu for Volume.
You can also use the equalizer and boost all bands or the
ones you hear, meaning not very low frequencies since the speakers, earphone transducers don't reproduce those, boost all the mid and medium high frequencies.
SOME Z3Cs are very quiet in Volume , like the one tested at GSM Arena and some are very loud, like this
one:
Sony Xperia Z3 Compact vs HTC One Mini 2: http://youtu.be/Z8UxXtGDOcA
Go to about 16:40 in the Video and you will hear the
Z3 C is louder than HTC M one Mini .
Unfortunately-not ALL Z3 Cs are this loud, according to
my unscientific research before I buy one.
Regardless-I am amazed that a few like you and,GSM
Arena find the phone too quiet and others report opposite.
Youtube Videos are not accurate BUT with two phones side by side still an indication of relative Volumes.
I conclude that SOME Z3Cs are much lower in Volume.

To be honest, all Sony products I have had, are super quiet. My Sony Flip 14a was super quiet till a new update came out and fixed it. Walkmans are typically very quiet as well. Shrug, just a thing I suppose.
I have the same problems with my brand new Z3 Compact. The over all volume is very low, it is okay when in silent environment, but at a bus, airplane, or in a crowded area it is very hard to hear what people say in calls or podcasts etc.
I did a comparison with my friends iPhone, plugged both in to my soundcard, the output from the iPhone is around 20-25% louder. I hate to switch back to iPhone, but this is kind of a big deal. I did a comparison of Z3C and iPhone 5S and the Z3c is about 20% lower. I can not post a link to the youtube-video (got to have 10 posts)
Is there any way to fix this?

Me too I have installed miui 7 and is coming with some sound mods, it´s better sound with but still isn´t great.
get 10 post as well wiiiii xD
I don't think there's a way of really boosting the overall volume without rooting it.
And please don't start with the EQ bands & other such bs or apps that boost volume without root.
The only alternatives are Viper4Android & a post I saw about editing mixer_paths.xml and modifying some values there, which I did, but I already had Viper4Android installed. So I'm guessing you can't do more than that. But even Viper4Android doesn't give you all that much of a boost. If you're an audiophile and want your music to sound good and not just blast mid-high frequencies like crazy, you'll consider buying a portable amp for music listening.
I have the same problem, so can't boost volume audio without root?... Im on lollipop 5.1.1 Stock
Yes - you need root. There is a simple flashable zip file on this forum that many have flashed with great results. Search using the keyword "xloud"

[Q] How to disable auto-volume-down using headphones

How to disable auto-volume-down using headphones in xperia z 5.1 LL? In previous firmware theres the libhearingdamage library file inside sound fx folder, but not on the latest 5.1 firmware. The auto-volume-down is for hearing damage security but for me its very annoying as its turns volume down drastically. Any idea?
Bumping because I seriously wanted to ask the same question.
I tried custom ROMS but this show up no matter what ROM I use.
Im really sensitive in terms of sound quality, stability and comfort of listening music, and after they F up Walkman app and now this warning show up more often than in older android version Im really pissed off because of that, especially when I listen to ASMR that for most of time is really quiet and I need to set volume to max.

Agree, but i still can live with the warning because in my case it just pop-up once i think. What disturbs me is if music played until chorus that have high bass and noise, it turns down volume automatically. I think there must be a solution to off that thing.
Ok, i think this mod have disable the auto volume down in headphones - forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/themes-apps/mod-volume-boost-xperia-z-t3115784 just try it and it works! Will test for couple more days to confirm it.

Snapdragon (Audio Boost mod or option?)

I have the Snapdragon/Sprint so no root available. My question is if there anyway to boost the volume of the audio as it sounds rather low for what's supposed to be a good device. I come from the LG V20 and I know it doesn't compare but if anyone knows a way to get a higher volume please help.
I have different earbuds and they all sound rather low. Even the ones that the phone came with.

for music you have stored locally you can use poweramp music player. it allows you to adjust the gain.
for streaming music there isn't a very good option without root.
your LG device has a quad-DAC (typical of LG devices) and that's what made it louder. your samsung does not have this feature so it's not going to be as loud.
