Here's a pic of my current settings:

Is it safe for me to root with PwnMyMoto? If so, which version should I download?
My apologies if this has been asked before, searched but found no answer.

you will need to upload a certain file from your phone to jcase for him to edit it and put together a pwnmymoto for your particular carrier. That is assuming that the build for your carrier is not the same as some other carrier. I don't know that so if someone does then they can tell you better. If not, get in touch with @jcase and he will tell you the files you need to upload.

There is no need to pwn Mexican Moto X since it can officially be unlocked. Then you can put any recovery you need and root it without a problem.

you can use the brazilian apk listed in pwnmymoto thread

and here have some photo, is that rooted?
As far as I know if you have superuser then you are rooted, have you tried an app that requires root to test? Like root explorer or titanium back-up?

Vivo W test rom. It's actually meant for the US CDMA Worldphone version of the Incredible S headed for Verizon.

Change Model Number?

I'm on the XT1056 Sprint Moto X with unlocked bootloader, rooted, stock 4.4.2. I was trying to change my model number in my build.prop. Nothing super important; I just wanted to add the XT1056 to where it simply says Moto X. In my build.prop, it already says ro.product.model=XT1056, which of course is not what shows up in my About Phone screen. Then it says something about how that's obsolete ? Any ideas how to actually change this?

I wouldn't be editing build.prop unless its for something important, and its confirmed by others to work.
But that's just me.

That's great and all, but it doesn't really help me. Build prop editing gets done all the time, and there's no real danger with superficial changes as long as you know what you're doing. I've changed my model number before on previous devices by editing the aforementioned line. Since that doesn't seem to work on the Moto X, I'm wondering if someone can help me figure it out; A. Because I want to change it, and B. Because I want to learn how, why, and what's different from my previous devices.
I appreciate that your reply was meant to be helpful (and warning) in case I'm some kind of noob. But I'm not. I messed with it for a while, tried some searching and research, then figured I'd come to some XDA peeps for help.

yes it protects avast from being wiped with a factory reset by making it a system app, but a simple /system wipe from custom recovery, flashing a new rom or flash a ruu will remove it.
its useful if the person that find/steal your phone is not an experienced user but it can be erased easily by everyone here on xda.
however im using it myself, its a nice app, used it maybe 1 or 2 time to find that I left my phone at my job.
yeah...most users just knows about "factory reset" and thats it...
oh yeah..thanks for the tip !

New to the Active s6

I just recieved my imported AT&T s6 active and I'm super pleased by the phone!
The phone came with 5.1.1 preloaded and I'm assuming the bootloader is locked.
I've heard root is only available for 5.0 and root is a MUST for me can I downgrade with Odin and root?
Also does locked bootloader mean no flashing zips, right? Alas, no xposed?
Sorry, no root for you yet. Root only work on 5.0.1 and no downgrade. Thought you not necessarily need custom bootloader to flash zip, in S7 Active topic on XDA they do it through app, but still need root... Switch to s7A until your phone is new, or learn to live without root.

I've been trying to follow a method described in other forums and mentioned by many other xda users, but once I re flash stock firmware I don't have root access.
I suspect my problem is when running "ROOT_FIX.bat" having my phone on recovery.

I've no idea how to assess this.
Maybe this root method was just intended to be temporary for IMEI and CSC purpouses?
The forum I followed wasn't very explicative.

Recovery?

I hope someone can compile a recovery for the U19e.
It's possibly HTC's last release ?
I don't want to order it until I know it's rootable.

? How did you install Magisk with no recovery?
Mod edit - translated by https://translate.google.com/?hl=de&tab=TT:
How to root without twrp

没有twrp怎么root啊,跪求
What a waste
I have bought HTC U19e, its a beautiful phone, responsive and good size...
But with no help from @sabpprook , no RUU, silly A/B partitions, no 'fastboot boot' support. Doubt this phone will ever be supported by TWRP developers. No root means I will have to throw the phone away. Such a shame.
Well, the magisk-install thread says:
In case your device lacks a custom recovery, you can either :
Manually patch your device’s boot image and flash it, or
Use the Direct Install option
Just try the alternate way -may you have to unlock bootloader via the normal htcdev site.
6 months have passed, the phone still in the box never used
sabpprook confirmed he is not willing to help or share his patched boot image.
What a shame more people didn't get behind HTC.

I just bought an U19e too. Do you have any ota/ruu files? Maybe I can help.
