I have this phone and I contacted Verizon and they gave me an unlock code. The problem is that the phone doesn't ask me for an unlock code. Is there a way to manually input it? Or is there a way to flash the phone completely (besides the format in the settings cause I have done that)? Maybe if I flashed it I would ask after at the first boot...

i've searched, couldn't find exactly what i was looking for. anyhow, i have a g1 and att service. i have the tmobile provided unlock code and it's unlocked. if i root and reflash with custom rom, i understand it will lock the phone again, would i be able to unlock it with the same unlock code?
Once sim unlocked it will not lock again.. the sim lock it stored outside any user flashable part of the phone.
Now my phone is is subsidy dismiss mode. I got the real unlock code from verizon but after i input the code it is still in dismiss. Tried to reset it. Flash it. But now i only get one attempt to input the code it seems it is hard locked. Help please

ATM Nobody can't fix subsidy locked on D3, we have to wait a soft unlock release to direct unlock it .
Hi All,
Hi have the HTC One Locked to Rogers, I had previously unlocked the phone as Im with Koodo. I purchased an unlock code and everything worked just find I was using the phone on the Koodo network for several months, then one day it lock up at the quietly brilliant screen after several attempts I was able to reboot the phone and same thing happened, again after a reboot it finally wouldn't power up. Needless to say I had to send it in under warrantied repair. I got the phone back and the main-board had to be replaced. I attempted to unlock the phone again via code just as I did before using IMEI, each individual states that a code could not be generated. I have rooted devices before but I'm no seabiscuit if you know what I mean and am not entirely sure to what extent I need to go to root and unlock the phone. Before anyone says anything about the rooting/unlocking i know this wont immediately solve my problem but if I have this access can I not find the unlock code in the phone once rooted in addition to other alternatives?. I appreciate any help you guys and gals have to offer.
Thank you

Anyone??? I'm sure I can root this thing but don't know where to go from there.
You will need a new unlock code generated to sim unlock the phone. Has nothing to do with rooting the device. Unless you mean bootloader unlock??

I mentioned I had done this! Unlock code cannot be generated for this IMEI after repair. I am fully aware that rooting will not resolve this. However I will need to root in order to attempt an unlock of carrier via whatever methods are available once rooted such as using hex editor custom roms or whatever other methods are available. Again phone was unlocked via code previously after repair the main-board was replaced and an unlock code cant be generated apparently for the new IMEI.
Are you saying that you can't buy a SIM unlock code?

I bought an unlock code twice, both times I was told that my IMEI could not generate an unlock code. The codes were bought from a reputable source. I was refunded both times. This phone was sent for repair they replaced the main-board. Prior to this repair phone was unlocked via sim
There is no way to unlock via rooting currently.
Perhaps wait a few months and the code may come in to system

Hi there, I switched from Telus to Koodo yesterday. But, it didn't ask for an unlock code. When I first tried, it was rooted with custom recovery and I thought that might be the reason why it didn't ask for an unlock code. But today, I reset my phone to factory default using Kies Device Initialization option and it still doesn't ask me for it. I tried, #7465625*638*# and it doesn't work. Please help.
Telus OWNS Kodoo, I'm aware this is old but you didn't actually "switch companies" hence why it isn't asking for an unlock code
Hi,
I have an bootloader-unlocked P10, that I unlocked a long time ago. But I didn't save the unlock code. Is there any way to retrieve the code from a rooted phone? Using TWRP?
Bonus question - what actions will cause my phone to be accidentally re-locked? How to avoid this in case I can't get my code again?
It's not possible to get the unlock code without Huawei, even with a rooted phone.
Since Huawei won't send you the code anymore, the only way to get the code is DC Phoenix (it costs around US$ 4, I think).
A re-lock can caused by many factors:
Failed firmware installation
Failed update
Failed root / unroot
Failed factory reset
Corrupt file partition
Factory reset with disabled "OEM Unlock" option in settings
If you just update the phone via OTA or methods like my script the bootloader should stay unlocked. But there's no real warranty, every device is different and even if you did everything right the software can mess something up.
A re-lock mostly causes a factory reset.
So, if you want to be safe, get your unlock code with DC Phoenix (I never used this tool) and write your code down for the future.
DC Phoenix should also work if your phone is bricked.
