Hey all,
I've just become a proud owner of a HTC One and I'm loving it.
Everything worked pretty much flawlessly from the start, although I missed some neat features I had with a custom ROM on my old device, but nothing I couldn't fix.
However, there are about a dozen wifi spots I use through the day but up to now, I've been able to connect to only 2 of them. I don't really think it has much to do with the phone but rather some (security) settings on the routers in question that may be incompatible. But I have no idea which settings that may be.
So far I haven't had much luck as many of the search results are about the HTC One X. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

2.battery life on the above mentioned roms seem to be not that great.
3.my phone runs at anywhere from 55 to 75 on boot up with the above mentioned roms. i tried using the no push inteernet cab and the ssk dynamic resource proxy cab but they dont seem to make a difference
4. i keep hearing about this program called XDA UC...i think i know what it does but im not 100% sure...will someone please elaborate on what this is, and how to use it (ive read the thread on xda about it but it looks like greek to me

Very fast good battery life,
I have been searching the forums for 2 weeks and have found many people with this very same issue but no concrete solutions. I have flashed multiple ROMs, builds, radios, and spl. I had mostly been using Energy series ROMs when around 2 weeks ago after an update flash my location service was disabled. I have tested and tweaked everything I can at this point and no setting will allow my location service to work. It is very annoying as I use google maps a lot and without it, one cannot even use GPS. IF there is anyone that can solve this issue for the many of use with this problem, It would be greatly appreciated. In fact, I would be more than willing to buy them a couple of beers. I posted this here because it seems the issue is present within all of the ROMs. I have had 8 HTC WinMo devices all the way back to TMob MDA and this is easily the most frustrated I have been.
Thank you all so much for your help.
if u have seen ppl with same issue, u could have asked in those threads rather than opening a brand new one. and i doubt u searched properly, "my location" problem is not because of ROMs but google's location service which doesnt work for some places.
Hi! I hope to write in the right area, but if not I ask someone to move my post in the right one.
Now I have a HTC Diamond device, but I've to change it for a GalaxyS or an iPhone4.
I would like to buy a GalaxyS device, but I read many posts about bugs, lags, gps problems, so I wonder if it is a great choice this GalaxyS.
I like android and all the development opportunities around it (thanks to XDA), but it seems to be not so stable yet...
I flashed many ROMS on my Diamond in the past, so it's not a problem to do the same for my GalaxyS, but problems are fixed? The GPS works fine? Maybe not...
Maybe with Froyo 2.2?
iPhone4 is not so open as an Android device, but it's a very stable device!
What do you think about?
coming from a winmo background you're gonna love the galaxy s! its miles ahead in terms of refinements, polish and brilliant integration. The GPS problems are nothing so critical...its more of a sw fix im guessing. I live in India, and i have ZERO problems on my GPS....i feel the bug is something country/carrier specific.
there are many things to love and obsess with the galaxy s....go get yourself one, you sure wont regret it
While I'd love to echo what dreamtheater39 has said, I can't. It's a brilliant phone, but after having mine for just under a month, it's starting to lag like crazy, and in the last two days I've had a ton of dropped calls and the phone has switched itself off/crashed three times in the last few hours resulting in data loss because the power button doesn't respond (forcing me to hard-reset the phone).
All I can say is that, if you do get one, have an open mind. And make sure you don't get locked into a lengthy contract in case things do go awry.
same here GPS working great since day 1

Maybe I got a lemon
Maybe I got a lemon but I can not stand the i9000. I have 4 bugs that drive me crazy.
1. Market Place hangs at starting download. I have to do a factory reset to download an update an app.
2. GPS just stops working or it puts you on a different street when you are using navigation. The worst part is then it has to recalculate the directions twice, once for the wrong location and then again for the correct location, which is a real pain in the pocketbook when you are rooming.
3. Receives invalided cert from a hotspot connects the 1st time then never again. So I cannot use my hotspot at work, my old iphone connects no problem.
4. Does not always switch between wifi and mobile network. Have to go to airplane mode and back to get 3G network. (I tried changing the wifi sleep settings)
Mmmm...so maybe it's a good device, but I understand that who had an iPhone before it seems to be a step backward...is it?
Hi, there. Basically just spent all of last night slaving away trying to fix my phone only to make everything progressively worse, and all of this morning having someone (thank you, BD619!) help me fix it, all because of me trying out some new roms.
Anyway i'm looking for something with a built-in tether that works off of USB (my laptop's wifi is broken). And having something with working GPS is pretty important for me too. I was on CM10.2 previously and the USB tether worked fine, but i couldn't get the GPS to work right for the life of me. And Viper's rom is the one that essentially sent me into non-stop boot loop mode, so that's out of there as far as what i'm willing to try.
I have tried other variations of CM like PA and slim, but i'd always end up having some kind of issues with the broadband or GPS. Others didn't even plain install. FWIW before today i did not have s-off, but now i do.
Would greatly appreciate any advice here. Please let me know if this is in the wrong section. Thanks
Are major problems solved in the latest firmware? (Restarts, wi-fi & BF dropping...)
Hi,
I want to buy XZ1 compact but I am reading this phone is restarting on its own, and has wi-fi and bluetooth problems. Can anybody please say, if those or other "critical" bugs are solved? I searched but it is hard to say for sure...
Basically I am quite depended on the phone and I really want it to be reliable. My current Motorola restarted maybe once in three years, so I am bit nervous about this.
Thanks
I'm on the latest firmware and I don't have any of that.
That said, I was on the November one for the last few months and also never had any of that.
That's the problem with forums like that, you're likely to only see the rare negatives of any device.
No issues for me.. smooth as butter.. great battery life.. LDAC working flawlessly with Sony headphones etc
Just wish I could turn the charging LED off
Also keep in mind if you unlock bootloader and load custom rom you're on your own. I havent gone that route this time and have had literally 0 issues in months
Okay, thank you, it seems it will be fine. I won't do custom rom but yeah root + xposed is a must for me.
I also got dropping WIFI. Really annoying and nothing seems to fix it.

Wifi working fine here. Check the settings on your router.
The restarts seem to be fixed. I think it was a regression with the previous one or two versions. The phone was fine, then it went from one or more a day, to none with the latest update. Wifi hasn't improved, but I did not find it that bad to begin with. Once it connects, it stays connected. It's that original connection where it sometimes decides "wifi? I don't have a wifi radio." Bluetooth is still terrible - works fine with a BT speaker, but is nearly useless with a car stereo.
Only 1 problem persists - Smart Lock don't work, it just a blank page. Can be resolved by restarting the device.
