Hi!
I got a xperia V, and the former owner told me tha it was flashed with a xperia Acro S firmware, and no longer turned on, so i tried to put it in flashmode with no success, then I tried a trick that saw over here (on a xperia sola) that was to connect usb without battery, an then put the battery as fast as possible, to my surprise this worked flawlessly, and I could flash the phone with flashtool and with Sony Update Service as well, the problem is that after flashing the phone still didn't power on, thinking it was the battery, I replaced with a new one, but still no success, The battery is not charging (according to my multimeter). May be the phone is not detecting the battery or the board is damaged? but is strange, because if that were the case I think the flashing would be impossible.
When I connect the phone to the charger one of two things happen:
1. Constant red light
2. Red light (if on a PC, I get the sound of a device connected), then red light goes off (if on a PC the device is disconnected), and then red the light comes back with a fading effect.
After some waiting the red light disappears and nothing else happens.
Any ideas on what I've been doing wrong, or what's wrong with the phone
EDIT:
Some more info, when the red light first appears, from lsusb the device get recognized as:
ID 0fce:d17b Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB

When the light disappears it doesn't get recognized at all.
Thanks.

Any luck finding a solution? i'm suffering from the same
Happened once for me also. Used to have red led lighting when I accidently cross-flashed a kernel which was meant for Xperia T. I simply access fastboot and flash stock kernel from my PC. If you are unable to access fastboot or flashmode, you are out of luck.

Hi all, i recently was given an Xperia T by a friend who no longer uses it. Seems to have a bit of an issue that I'm hoping those with more experience in the mobile world can help with.
When i plug the phone in to charge, she flashes red led, Sony logo appears with a constant red led then the screen flashes and the phone repeats the exact same thing.
I have done the whole repair my phone through PC Companion, Built the ftf from the PC Companion and flashed using Flashtool but still no joy.
Also tried powering with the battery removed resulting in the same.
This has been tried on both the wall charger and PC Usb.
Here's the interesting part, i decided to hook the +5 and GND from a chopped usb cable directly to the battery while connected to mainboard (soldered to points on top of connector) and the phone boots to 4.3 with no problems. Obviously the battery shows 100% charge doing this and as soon as you unplug the power, phone powers down.
Any ideas as to what the problem may be. Battery seems a culprit but I'm not too sure since it doesn't fully boot with the battery disconnected.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

need new battery.
hi,
sorry for my bad English,
I bought Xperia With a damaged touch. The phone is normally turn on. the touch did not work. I decided to take himself for the replacement of touch (glued to the LCD). I disassembly phone . before removing the motherboard still plugged in the battery to see if the battery will not hurt the dismantling of the display, the phone is turned saw the Sony logo and disconnected the battery (do not know if it was a good idea). After removing all nicely warmed the screen and slowly removing pieces touch. Unfortunately, at the end it turned out that a little too much it warmed, because the screen began to appear discolored, so were pissed, I ordered a new display and in the meantime, as I wait for the touch I wanted to see if it works. I have connected to the display board, tape, buttons and battery. Turned on, the phone vibrated and enough black screen. So I stitched it to "poop" and I wanted to run, but it was all the same. Computer can not detect, etc.. After some time, as it was plugged into usb turn on the red light. Ive loaded software program SUS, and after you press the power button flashing red LED 3 times. I left the phone on the charger overnight from nokia (1200mA), but it does not improve, after that, that when you try to turn the vibration and again, so much. The phone is detected in fastboot mode (blue LED) and flash (theoretically green), because as I press the phone turned off and hold down my Vol- is a second red LED will flash immediately changes to green and then turns off the computer recognizes the phone as SOMC Flash Device (SEMC not SOMC) and in this mode for the update service is normally upload the software to the end, in the Flashtool the same situation. I do not know if it's important, but after every uploading the software when you try to turn this unfortunate flashes red LED 3 times as if the battery is discharged. Could this be a defective battery? Phone before you got in my hands was lying unused for some time. How it got it it plugged into the car charger (840mA) for around 40min +/- and normally work. I do not remember whether if it was on some LED.
Why could you buy a Xperia Z with damaged touch? And why you try to repair it yourself?
Tapatalk'ed from my Xperia™ Z (C6602) running Dirty Unicorns ROM!

If battery was working properly before the experiment that you did there must be something wrong that you must have did.
Try a different battery and see whether it solves issue or else you must have damage the mo-bo
My Xperia dead after remove battery.
Stuck in flash mode.
Fastboot and flash mode works. (Blue and green led)
unbrick from flashtool?
My Xperia Z will not boot; the red LED flashes three times when I attempt to turn it on. I have tried resetting using the power button and volume up (most of the time it does not produce a response, but if it is plugged into my computer it will, where the LED will only turn off for maybe two seconds before coming back on), I have tried unplugging the battery (I have done this multiple times and on two occasions left it unplugged for over a week), I have tried flashing multiple different firmwares through Flashtool (they flash successfully but the phone still does not boot) and I have tried charging it for days and even a week one time with different chargers, but it still refuses to turn on.
This issue first occurred after I replaced the antenna flex cable and the buttons/microphone flex cable due to accidentally breaking them whilst replacing the LCD. I think this issue may have started because the battery was only on 7% when I disconnected it to replace the two parts, but I fail to see how this would discharge the battery so much? I am willing to purchase another battery if I can be certain that it will fix this issue.
Unlike some on this forum in other threads I have read through, the Sony logo does not come up at all, the screen is black the entire time. Also, when plugged into my Windows 8.1 laptop the computer tries to install drivers and says that it does not recognize the device "USB device not recognized" "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it". When now attempting to put into flashmode connecting it to a USB 2.0 port the phone does not respond for five seconds, then the LED flashes green then red immediately after, before the LED goes off again, then the firmware is flashed (successfully). Attempting to put the phone into flashmode when connected to a USB 3.0 port will only result in the LED turning red.
Thanks for your time, this is really frustrating me, and any help would be greatly appreciated
Help please, anyone?
Sometime i wake up and my phone is turned off , when i try to turn it on it flashes 3 red lights , charging would make it turn on , so 3 red flashes is from battery and since you can successfully flash frimware than it is not bootloader problem , it is either battery or something else is destroyed inside your phone , first try another ftf

Thanks, I have tried two alternate ftf files with no luck, but I will try a third and see how that goes Yeah, it's okay if the current battery is faulty and buying a new one that will fix the problem, but I don't want to waste money if that isn't the problem
Do you have 12v car charger. Try to charge with it. Helped to wake up my phone last week after too much drain to the battery
My phone was not entering flashmode just before when I was trying to flash a different ftf file, so I wondered what would happen if I disconnected the battery, and then tried it. I first just connected the phone without the battery and got a solid blue light from the LED. Then when I tried entering flashmode without the battery connected it worked! So since I can successfully flash ftf files without the battery connected I'm assuming the issue is the battery, or could it possibly be the part of the motherboard which the battery connects to like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/help/hardware-fix-xperia-z-charging-booting-t2760911 ?

I do have one somewhere, but I think it's broken The issue must be related to the battery or battery connection now, so I need to figure out which of the two it is before I take any further steps to fix it?
So I ordered a replacement battery and when first connected the phone would not turn on. After charging for a little while the LED went red, and the phone now vibrates when I attempt to turn it on and also when I try to reset it. So the vibrations feel correct (it vibrates once when turning on, once when volume up and power have been held for five seconds, and three times when volume up and power for ten or so seconds), but it still refuses to boot. I have tried three different chargers for extended periods of time, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery multiple times and have flashed a different .ftf file, but all to no luck. My Windows 8.1 laptop computer still says that the USB device is not recognised and nothing seems to be progressing
Is there anything more that I can do from here to try to fix it? Anything would be so greatly appreciated
Bump :fingers-crossed:
Mainboard may be broken.
I had this problem after flashing a wrong recovery but the symptoms were the same. I sent it to a repair center and they changed my mainboard and it worked fine so it could be possible that you've broken your mainboard in a way. (The reparation bill was paid by the warranty *horray*)
I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.
Off topic: yay, it snows!

May be the ftf u are using is corrupt... Try a different ftf...
Hi wonderful XDA forums, i'm an italian user, then sorry for my bad english.
I'm in a very strange situation, the new year starts strange for me.
Yesterday trying to short circuit the resistor to make the vibration works again( i read on internet and i see that works with other Xperia Z), the phone power down and won't boot anymore.
The strange things appears now, when i plug the usb cable for charge the phone, nothing appear, no LED, but if i disconnect the battery with the USB cable plugged-in the led blink red one time then blink a second time and become blue, and if i press volume down immediately afer the first led red blink, the led become green for 1 sec and the phone go in Download Mode.
When i use original Sony charger same situation, but when i disconnect the battery the led blink red 1 time and stays on and the phone shows SONY logo but immediately reboots go in a bootloop like this, red 1 time and stays on and the phone shows SONY logo but immediately reboots, i noticed that if i press power button several times after the SONY logo i can see the low battery icon but if stop to press the button the screen goes off and restart the bootloop describes upper.
I try several wall charger, and several cables oviusly the original SONY USB cable and wall charger, but nothing change, the battery is new and works because i test it with another phone.
Connecting to PC i can flash rom ftf with FlashTool without errors, but at the end of the process the phone won't boot, and won't charge same problems.
I noticed that the phone can't be recognise if the battery is connected, just when i disconnect the battery the phone go in fastboot mode or in download mode, for example when i flash a new ROM with flashtool when ask to connect the phone i must disconnect the battery and press volume down (in this way the PC recognise the phone, and the phone go in download mode) then i can connect or left disconnect the battery, anyway the flash operation would be OK but nothing change.
Sometimes when i connect the phone to PC the system ask me for QHSUBS_DLOAD drivers and sometimes the phone is recognised with SOMC FLASH....
I know this is a very bad situation, only Xperia Guru's can help me, but probably this phone is dead.
But I trust in XDA Community and i know that is the only place i can get serious and valid reply
Regards Samuel
this sounds exactly like what happened to me
This is extremely weird this happened on the same day... ?
Hi friends, welcome to soft brick world i think.. But i m happy and unhappy that i am not the only one in this weird situation..:silly:
"short circuit the resistor to make the vibration works again" thank god I didn't try it.. otherwise I'd end up with dead device
